Lyric groaned. "Look, Cameron. If this is an attempt to make me feel better, it's not working." It was clear that she was blindfolded.
Lyric groaned. "Look, Cameron. If this is an attempt to make me feel better, it's not working." It was clear that she was blindfolded.
Axl was tired of waiting. He didn't have time. He didn't want to mess up this time. He began to walk up to her. His hands moved up to the blidfold where he gently removed it. "Lyric."
Lyric glared. She was over this. "I'm not in the mood Axl. What do you want?"
Axl motioned for his friend to play louder. "Just. Give me a few minutes." He took out the flowers from behind his back, holding out his other hand for her to hold.
Lyric looked at him, then at Cameron, who simply shrugged. She reluctantly took Axl's hand and let him guide her.
Relief filled him a little. He took her hand and began to guide her closer to the music and to the arch. Once they were under it, he looked to her. "Care to dance?"
"Not particularly, no," Lyric replied.
He sighed and ran the hand he stuck out through his messy hair. "Right. Umm, well, I wanted to say sorry. And I actually mean it when I say it. I screwed up and I might not be able to have you at the end of all of this, but if I can just have a change to fix it I'm going to and-" he took a breathe and motioned around "-I'm really trying, Lyric. I really am." You can't even keep your words straight you idiot. He could feel his cheeks turning red. He couldn't tell if it was the cold or embarrassment.
"How are you going to fix this? We were together for 6 years. Then I tell you I'm pregnant and you blow up at me. At least it's yours, Axl," Lyric replied, saying almost exactly what Cameron had said. "The only way you can fix this is if you combine all my favourite things in the world and maybe let me name the kid."
"Lyric, listen to me. I screwed up and I blew up, as you said. I just. I don't have a excuse for why I did. I just know I did. There's no denying it." He motioned to his friend playing the violin who motioned the other way.
Her family began to walk towards them behind the corner, their feet crunching in the snow.
"It took a lot, but I convinced them to come. Not for me, I know some of them would never forgive me. They're here for you, and if you choose not to give me a chance, they're here and I'll be gone. Out of your life completely of you'd like."
He took a deep breath before getting down on one knee once more, taking out the box. "So let me just ask one more time, will you, the perfect goddess, marry me, a stupid idiot who screwed up but loves you more than anything in the world?"
Lyric looked at her family, then at Axl. "I really don't know. If you'd asked me yesterday, I would've said yes immediately. Granted, that did happen. But, after what happened yesterday, I'm not sure anymore. How can I raise a family with someone who's immediate reaction was to get angry?"
"I really didn't mean to. I promise. I-" he took a moment. "I told you. You can decline. I'll understand. They'll understand." He nodded to the family who seemed to be glaring at him. "I want kids though, Lyric. I know that now. I was confused and unprepared and an overall idiot but I want you and everything that comes with you because I love you!" He paused. "Please, just a chance."
"Of course I want to marry you, Axl. I want to spend the rest of my life with you! I'm just… Hesitating now."
"Well, I just. Yeah. It's understandable." He sighed. He could understand if she hesitated just enough for doubt to seep into her mind leaving him alone on his knee.
"This is such a huge decision," Lyric said. She turned to look at her family. Each of them wanted Lyric to be happy, and their eyes are all pleading for her to follow her heart.
"I know it is. Just know I'll- we'll& support whatever decision you make." *No matter the heartbreak.
Lyric was silent for a few moments, and it felt like ages. When she did answer, it was a barely audible "Yes."
Axl was honestly shocked.
But he was smiling. Smiling like an idiot. He stood, putting the ring on her finger and pulled her into a kiss. I love you so much, Lyric. More than you'll know.
"But only if I name the kid," Lyric whispered. "No discussion."
He chuckled. "Okay, that's fine."
Lyric stood in the foreroom. She was extremely nervous. She loved her dress, though. She had wanted something 'Greatest Showman' like, so her father had paid to get a custom made replica of Jenny Ling's first opera dress. It had a few minor changes though: it was elastic around the torso to accommodate her growing - and now 5 months big - belly, and it wasn't as wide as the original dress.
Axl stood in wait of his bride. The days had gone so quickly. He began to bite the insides of his cheeks, a nervous habit of his. There were people all around him, but he couldn't even look at them. His mind was running a million miles per hour.
(months. It's been months)
Lyric stood with Vaiana and Cameron. "Am I doing the right thing?" She asked.
"Do you love him?" Vaiana asked.
"Yes, I do."
"Do you want to marry him?"
"I…I'm still not sure."
"Then why are you doing this?" Cameron asked.
"Because I love him, and I already have a family with him."
"Then marry him. If you love someone, don't let them go."
(Well, yeah, I was just. Saying days. Because. Yeah idk.)
People had come up to talk to him, but he couldn't hear them. All the voices just turned to a big blob of noises. It was loud, and yet so quiet.
"I-" Lyric started, just as the music started for the bridesmaids to walk down the aisle. Cameron quickly slipped out to stand next to Axl.
