Gabe looked at Alex, giving him an encouraging smile.

Alex looked up at Gabe, swallowing, then away again.

Gabe sighed a little through his nose, keeping his arm around Alex.
"can you talk about how you're doing yet?" he asked.

Alex shook his head slowly. "No…" He replied softly, biting his lip.

"Okay then." Gabe looked at Alex, sympathetic. Whatever had happened had really affected him.

Alex shivered a little bit again, glancing at Gabe for a moment, then away again.

Gabe rubbed Alex's back lightly, other hand going down to rest lightly on Alex's knee.

Alex inhaled sharply at the feeling of Gabe's hand on his knee, eyes flashing up to Gabe again.

Gabe pulled his hand off of Alex's knee, letting it fall to his own lap.
"Sorry," he said quietly.

"I-it's alright." Alex whispered, closing his eyes for a moment.

Gabe watched Alex closely, not moving his hand back.

Alex opened his eyes for a second to look at Gabe, quivering slightly.

"Are you scared?" Gabe asked gently.

Alex shrugged a little bit. "N-not of you…" he finally admitted softly.

"And you're not gonna tell me what you are afraid of?" Gabe guessed.

Alex shook his head a little bit, playing with a loose thread from his shirt. "No…" he couldn't. If he started speaking about what he could do…he might never be able to stop.

"Okay then," Gabe said softly, not pressing.

Alex let out a breath. "Sorry…" He said quietly, looking down at his hands and biting his lip again.

"You don't have to be," Gabe said softly.

Alex shrugged a little. I do. So so so sorry for all the trouble and all the death and all the ghosts and… He swallowed.

Gabe gave Alex a quick hug.

Alex stiffened slightly, then leaned against Gabe a little bit, closing his eyes for a moment.

Gabe held Alex lightly, making it easy to pull away if he wished.

Alex stayed leaning against Gabe, finally relaxing just a little bit. He closed his eyes.

Gabe smiled a little when he felt Alex relax slightly, rubbing his back.
