Gabriel coughed, letting out pained howls. His entire body ached with severe pain. He wanted freedom from this prison. It was hell. More than literal hell could ever be. He struggled to speak, words harshly making their presence. "You're one.. hell of a master then. I will question you in… all of your choices. It is my humanish nature." He coughed forcefully, his body shuttering from the pain. "I will not get you what you want. I am but only an insignificant warlock in their world." Gabriel’s fruitless clawing at Nyx's hand grew weaker. The pain transformed into an awful headache… he grew dizzy. He smiled, blood staining his teeth. "I will play your games, but like a dog, I will not listen all the time. Sometimes, dogs don't appease their masters. Good luck breaking something that is already broken."
"Then I will REMOVE that from you." Nyx snarls.
"All I need is the death of this world. That is all. You aren't really part of the world, but you are in it. So you must be BROKEN before I KILL you."
"So be it. But one thing I will NOT tolerate is violence against my person. Next time it happens, you won't be lucky enough to escape with minor damage. And there are many ways to break that which is broken. One way is to heal what was lost, then shatter it again." they assert.
Gabriel laughed, but it quickly turned into a pitiful whine from the pain in his chest. “Take away all you want. Take away everything that this word is made of. I’ll be waiting for you at the edge of it. I’ll make it easy for you to exterminate me…” He clutched his broken chest, the pain slowly putting him out. “As you wish.. master.. no violence against you.” He took in a shallow breath. “You call this minor damage? You broke my body.. how much further can you go?”
Nyx finally releases Gabriel, the room returning to its usual state, ignoring most of the man's statements.
All the damage that had been done to the ground and Gabriel was gone.
"Much further than you even know."
Gabriel lay on the floor despite being let go. The room might have reverted to normal and he might have been fixed, but it felt as if his chest had been crushed with a bulldozer. His limbs were sprawled out haphazardly. He whined before speaking. “Then break me as far as you can. Let’s see how deranged I can get… let’s see the shattered prices of glass.” Gabriel lifted himself onto his knees, heaving a great breath. He stood, leaning back backward and stumbling into his desk. Taking a wheezy breath, he reached for a cigarette. His hands shook dreadfully, making it ineffective to light the cigarette. At this point, his body start to collapse upon itself and he knew he need to pass out. He moved forward, swaying as he walked across the room before collapsing into his bed. Gabriel could have been mistaken as dead if it wasn’t for his obnoxious breathing.
(I know, I just lost my ideas and have been trying to get them in order 😅)
(Well, fuck. I forgot everything. Two days of thinking. I forgot where I was going with Nyx's relationship with Gabriel XD )
(Pffff, I like to think about the relationship as "how will the demon eradicate the annoying child?")
(Lol, there's many ways that can happen- for one, Nyx can simply condense Gabriel into a crystal if he doesn't want to be bothered for a while, or turn him into a cloud of primordial soup, or remove all the bones from Gabriel's body)
(Those are many ways to silence a warlock. I mean, Nyx has some silence right now. But Nyx might have to physically train Gabriel if wants anything done. Gabriel is like a stray dog. He has zero listening skills)
(Yeah, lol. And oh god, Nyx isn't good with dogs)
(I'm sure there is a way to get Gabriel to behave. After that whole scene with Nyx, he'll listen sometimes, but majority will still put his life on the line like the dumbass he is)
(Now I'm just imagining Nyx holding a newspaper, slapping Gabriel with it whenever he tries to go for the mailman-)
(LMAO. We should just erase his memory and take away his right of basic autonomy. Then rebuild Gabriel from the ground up the way Nyx wants)
(I KNOW, and the best part is? In an AU, it could happen!)
(. . . is that even allowed?)
(I'm very lenient and like to watch my character suffer, so do what you want with him)
(Ooo, okay. . .)
Ny watches Gabriel silently, not bothering to reply.
He gets an idea.
I can retrain him, if I make him different. he thinks.
There's an echoing click!
A ripple of energy flows through Gabriel's mind, erasing all memories and experiences.
Knowledge of forms of torture, of ways to kill and maim and destroy, remain, as well as all Gabriel's knowledge of his powers, though the knowledge of how he learned these things is completely erased.
He also leaves Gabriel's addiction to demon blood intact.
But now he can reshape and train the man the way he wanted.
All of Gabriel’s former years disappeared in a flash. All trauma and signs of struggle found melted away. Since some parts of his memory disappeared, the parts remaining moved to fill the holes. Gabriel would know there were holes, confusion was a cost, unfortunately. Memory was a privilege, a privilege he lost. His eyes opened wide. The blue of his irises reflected an ocean of the lost, an ocean of confusion. Did he still know he was? At least remember his name. Who was he? Gabriel sat up, staring at Nyx with wide hollow eyes consumed by sudden fear. He stayed silent, not speaking a word to the demon.
"Your name is Gabriel. And you are my thrall." Nyx smiles, looking down at Gabriel.
Gabriel nodded his head slowly, still confused about who this random demon was and how he got here. “I know my name is Gabriel..” He murmured. Not every memory had been lost, but the majority of them were lost to another timeline. Now, according to Nyx, Gabriel was under his control. That's who the random demon was. His master.
"Good, you remember that much at least." Nyx chuckles.
"Do you remember anything else?" he asks, knowing full well the answer would be a "no."
Gabriel tilted his head. Remember anything else? There were other things he should know. The holes pained him so. He shook his head no? "I don't know what you are talking about. I also remember limited things." Gabriel paused, pressing the palm of his hand to his head. "Of course I remember my name. It's important."
Nyx grins snakily.
"Good." he murmurs.
Nyx pauses. "Important, huh?"
