Calian laughs at Teth. “Maybe you’ll like the sand more.” She’s probably from forest, judging by her name. If the forest exists where they’re from… and if they’re telling the truth.
They’re keeping a fast pace, just enough so everyone can follow without too much difficulty. They’re eager to leave without getting caught by more soldiers.
Teth glares at Calian and huffs. “Shush.” I just hate this cold- how do people survive like this? She wraps her cloak around herself, grumbling.
Resh rolls his eyes at Teth. “Oh, you’ll live.” He couldn’t really say anything, though. He’s equally as dramatic as Teth can be, if not more dramatic.
Calian says something in Manta, mostly to themselves but not bothering to speak it quietly. ”Tourists should bring warmer clothes. Never learn.”
(It’s not like they could plan ahead much,)
Teth looks slightly offended. She can’t understand what exactly Calian had said, but she understands their tone of voice just fine. She shakes her head and starts looking around.
(Brain where,)
(No reaction from Daphne sad /j)
(We can skip to the place uhh soon)
(Oh I’m dumb)
(Anyway great-)
(pokes my head up from a pile of blankets looking very tired oh right reality exists)
The surroundings are pretty much the same as they've always been. A lot of snow, and some snow-covered masses that might be trees. And this continues until they reach another abandoned settlement. One this time that has an activated ancient port with empty stone boats coming and going. Well, mostly empty. There are more of those greyed children from before, and some of them are hopping on and off the boats.
Calian looks at the children curiously as they all get closer to the port. "Good thing the skykids are here. Don't have to activate the port ourselves."
(buries myself under blankets again)
Resh looks around at the settlement, watching the children for a bit before looking over at Calian. If those worked like the ports back home, all they’d need is a light source to activate. But it probably doesn’t work like that here. He goes back to looking around, particularly interested in the boats. Not that they were new to him, he's just always found them interesting.
(Wel Resh, that is how it works Calian just said it weird)
(They don’t have candles in their chests like you)
Calian looks around for a second before going up the steps to the port. Once they’re up there they keep looking around the settlement uneasily. We’re really leaving here this easily? They’re interrupted from their thoughts when one of the skykids offers their hand to them as a greeting. They touch the skykids hand and bow slightly.
(Random moths lighting you be like)
(Pfft)
(My brain is lagging way too much 💀)
(Burnt gums will do that to ya)
(Yes it’s definitely the burnt gums)
(they need to get on the boat)
(Shut up I’m dying over here-)
(I promise I’m trying to words ;v;)
(Hey! Guess what! Another shit response!!!)
As Resh looks around, he spots some soldiers in the distance, heading in their direction. They hadn’t seen them yet, but I think wouldn’t be long until they did. He narrows his eyes, then quickly turns to Calian, speaking in a low voice. “We should hurry.” He jerks his head towards the soldiers in the distance. “Don’t think any of us are in the mood for more fighting.”
Calian looks over at the soldiers and their eyes widen ever so slightly. They nod and make a little hand gesture. “Yeah. Come on, before they see us up here.” They move over to one of the boats that was starting to pass by and hop in, crouching down a bit so there’s less chance of them being seen.
(Both of them rn: 👁👁)
Resh nods and looks at the others, waiting for them to get into the boat before hopping in himself. He has to crouch down quite a bit to avoid being seen, along with Tsadi.
