Resh stared at Naveil, unblinking. He seemed to be analyzing him. Can’t trust him. He’s small, but he might be a threat anyway. “I’ll go first. Check if it’s safe. I don’t want everybody here to end up dying as soon as they take a step out there.” He looked at Tseth, visibly confused, and shook his head. God of darkness? Now I know he’s delusional. He turned his attention to Nathaniel. “Well, I’m glad you could finally work up the courage to do it.” There was an obvious note of sarcasm in his voice. Can’t trust him either. He’s overly aggressive. He looked at Jax. “It probably won’t be long until someone in here starts trying to kill all of us.” He glanced at Naveil and Nathaniel as he said this. “And we don’t want that happening, do we?”

Juni looked at Naveil and Nathaniel, clearly nervous about being around the two of them. “Let’s… let’s try not to fight each other, please…” Her voice was still very quiet. She edged closer to Resh, whispering to him. “I don’t want you dying, either…” She was so quiet, it was a miracle that Resh had heard her at all. She looked at Tseth and narrowed her eyes. He didn’t seem like he wanted to harm anyone, but he was already causing problems… “I can’t trust anyone here, can I…” she mumbled to herself. Other than Resh, of course…

Cadastern took a deep breath, clearing her throat and her mind. This was her moment. This was her chance to make a half-decent impression. But how should she go about this? A blizzard's worth of possibilities spiraled in her mind.
But time was running out. She'd make it up as she went along.
She stepped closer to Resh and Juni in the least threatening way she could, and she kept her voice low, like she was telling them and only them some kind of secret.
"Don't mind my brother, he's… he's just a little high-strung. Ok, a lot high-strung. He gets it from his pater."
She gave an internal wince. Get to the point, Cada. Now.
"Um, Resh? If - If it would make you more comfortable… I could keep an eye on Juni for you?"

Naveil held a growl in his throat. Whatever Cad was up to, he didn't like or appreciate or trust it.
It was a miracle, honestly, how she was consistently in his way. He restrained himself, though. A quick glance at Resh was all it took to silence him. He caught some unease from Resh's dead weight, anyways. Better to back down for now.
He turned his gaze to Gabriella and Nicoletta. They seemed to be fully content with just gawking at everyone like big-eyed fish. Nothing to worry about with them, it seemed, as all they did now was chatter in a foreign tongue.
He regarded Tseth and Alex with caution, the supposed King receiving most of his glares. He wasn't particularly fond of Kings, either, at least not the ones in the Everchill. He straightened up some more, now standing at his full height… which still wasn't tall, mind you, but he made up for it with his expressions. He was good at that, at least.

Tseth notices Naveil as he stares—or rather, glares—at him. “Something you want to say, Naveil?” He readjusts his grip on his spear, somewhat subconsciously. He wasn’t extremely interested in fighting, but he also wasn’t thrilled being here. Or watching as someone the human equivalent of a chihuahua tried to intimidate him.

Alex sighs next to Tseth. He’s in an argumentative mood. He sheathes his own spear on his back, trying to make an effort to look the least bit more friendly. He takes off his own mask as well, more so to speak easier than for friendliness. “We’re all probably going to be stuck with each other for a while, so can we at least make an effort not to slit each other’s throats while we are?” He says this to everyone, but the intended audience is clear.

Nathaniel drew his shoulders back, straightening his back. He snarled at Resh, making a point to show his fangs. “Why are you looking at me? I’m only reacting to my environment and clearly the people in it are provoking the bear further.” He stared at Resh, flicking his eyes toward Tseth and Alex. “I don’t think you should be staring at me. You should be flicking your eyes toward the small creature.” He flicked his head, motioning at Naveil. That one was their problem, not him. Nathaniel didn’t care what others had to say. Their voices, opinions were inferior. All he focused on was Resh and his anecdotal reasons.

Jax nodded his head, frowning at Nathaniel. He never learned to stop, did he? His aggression alway grew, never mellowing. “I would hope no one would try to murder us all.” His eyes flicked to the two aggressors in the room. “I would be futile. You can’t escape the people around you with slit throats and slash chests.” He frowned, annoyance taking over his face. Would they have to deal with this for long? Jax hoped not. Bloodshed would not be wise.

(Not my fault people keep provoking each other 🤷‍♀️ at least they’re trying to stay on Resh’s good side for the most part- with a few exceptions-)
