Hotaru can't help but wave back. "Hi. I'm Shibuya Hotaru. It's nice to meet you." They smile at the other, seemingly happy to have not been told to leave or anything. "I hope you don't mind me sitting here… This place is packed right now…"
"It's fine!" I say returning the other's smile. "Oh, what um.. what are your pronouns?"
"That's a random question, but thank you for asking. I don't like people who just assume pronouns. Asking is awkward, but it's better than being rude," Hotaru said. "Anyways, I use she/they pronouns. What are yours, if I may ask?"
"They/them!" I smile once again, "Would you rather I use they or she?" I add, "Sorry if I'm being too nosy.."
(I have therapy for about 45 minutes so I (most likely) wont be on until my appointment is over)
(It's okay! I'll be on all day until I go to bed, but I don't mind you being busy. Also, just to let you know, if you ever wanna chat about random stuff, we can message! Heck, I might if I ever need to rant.)
"Oh, it honestly doesn't matter which pronouns you use. I identify as both," Hotaru answers. "Also, you're not being nosy at all! You're just being polite so you don't use the wrong pronouns. I don't mind at all."
(feel free to pm me whenever)
"Okie! Anyways, what are you gonna get to drink? I recommend their milk tea."
(Okay.)
"I've never been here before, actually. I was just recommended this place and decided to come. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll try it."
I slurp the last of my tea quietly, "Want to come with me to order, I'm getting some more tea."
"Yeah, that would be nice. Thank you." They smile softly and get up. "It'll be a bit of a wait, but I don't really mind. Maybe we could get to know each other a bit better while we wait?"
I mirror Shibuya, standing and giving a soft smile, "Let's go."
The two went into the line after that. It truly was long, but they started to talk to each other and starting to get to know each other a bit more to pass the time. They honestly enjoyed it and found it fun.
"Are you on any social media?" I ask after a while, with some hesitation.
"Oh, yeah, I use a couple things, but not many. We can chat there after this, if you'd like. I don't mind." Shibuya smiled at them.
"Sure, what are you on?" I ask, "I'm on twitter and I have a spotify but that barely counts as social media" I giggle "I try to stay off the social medias."
(what country is this set in? or is it in a fantasy world?)
(Well, I assumed Japan, given the OC names, but they could be from somewhere else. This could also be a fantasy if you'd like)
"Oh, same here. I don't really like all the drama that most of them have. I just use some to talk to my friends…or I used to before they left me for absolutely no reason…"
I pause before saying, "My friends left me too…" I pause again, "We could be friends.."
"Wait, really?" They perked up a bit, seeming to be happy to have found a friend. "That would be really nice. You seem like such a nice person. I'd love to have you as a friend."
"R-really?" My head falls in hopeful embarrassment as I pull at the sleeves of my cardigan.
"Of course. I can't believe you asked to be my friend, honestly. My friends just went and left me one day and I never knew why… I don't understand the world sometimes… Betrayal hurts, though. I can say that much."
"I know how it feels" Tears come to my eyes as memories rush through my head of the past few years.
Shibuya can't help but hug the other once she notices that they're crying. "Hey…I feel what you're going through. Betrayal, fake friendships… They hurt, but it's gonna be okay… We have each other now…"
A light blush forms on my cheeks as the tears start falling down my face. "C-can we go outside for a sec… I don't was to cause a scene…"
