She shrugged sleepily "Maybe," She yawned again as she walked over to him, watching him cook. A chunk of hair fell in her face and she sighed, brushing out of the way "I'm really thinking about just cutting it shorter.." She muttered.

"That doesn't sound half bad either. Probably would be best if you don't want it getting in the way of everything…." Miles finished up and put the food on two separate plates, handing one to her. "Bon appetite," He said mildly, digging in himself.
Emmeline took the plate, nodding at him "Thanks," She started eating and smiled, realizing how long it had been since she had a meal this good.
Miles was finished within a minute and put the plate in a bucket of water to be washed. "Just set your plate in there when you're done." He stood up and headed to his wardrobe, pulling out a clean shirt. I've been in this one too long…. He took his cloak off and his undershirt off to change.
She didn't respond, still shoveling food into her mouth. The plate was empty after a few minutes and she put it in the bucket before turning around and glancing at Miles, "Oh, I'm sorry," She said looking away when she realized that he was changing.
"Huh – Oh…. Yeah… Whatever. Don't worry about it too much," Miles pulled a shirt out and pulled it down on himself. "This house isn't really big enough for even two people." He rolled onto his bed. Hm… What to do today…. I already have enough food and plenty of lockets and rings…
"It just, kinda surprised me," She said, shrugging and looking at the ground. Her hair was still a mess and she did her bes to finger comb it as she sat back on her bed.
He glared at her from across the room on his bed and sat up. "Do you really want it cutted? I can – carefully – use my dagger to cut it if you want…." It would probably be best anyways…. But that's her choice. Miles stood up and put the old shirt back in the wardrobe, putting his red cloak back over his shoulders.
She nodded vigorously "Yes, please, I mean it can't really get any shorter but i want it to be as short as possible without making me look like a boy," She stood up and tugged a strand on hair into her face, scowling happily at it "Ha, you are going away and I will never have to worry about combing you again."
He chuckled at her playful behavior. "Alright then…." Miles snatched his dagger and got on her bed. "Now turn around…"
A small smile appeared on her face and she turned around, standing in front of him. "Do your best," She said, fiddling with the hem of the robes she was wearing.
"Well, actually…." Miles said, shifting. "Maybe we should do this where clean up is easy." I'm not nitpicky, but this is the only living space I have… "It would probably be better if we went outside."
"Yeah, probably," she said, shrugging slightly as she walked outside. She stood around and rocked on her feet as she waited for Miles to tell her if she should sit or stand.
Miles got on outside with Emmiline. He withdrew his dagger and had her stand up — it was a good enough height since he was so much more taller than she was. “Alright….” He put the dagger between his teeth and took all her hair back, as much as he could into his hands. “So how much do you want off?” He asked through his teeth. I don’t want to get dissed for something she never told me… maybe…
(Basically she wants a pixi cut)
"As much as you want, just don't make me look like a boy." She said "You can cut is as short as you want on the sides but leave it a little longer on the top," She nodded and smiled, happy to not have to deal with her hair any more.
Miles shrugged, taking the dagger from his mouth. Whatever. I’ll just cut it. He pulled her hair back and chopped most of it off with the dagger. (Can we just say it was how she wanted it because I don’t know what longer on top means cuz I dumb lol). “There…. please tell me that’s what you wanted.” He tossed the hair in the grass and lead her back inside, giving her a tabletop mirror from his nightstand. “Does that look right?”
(Basically now it looks sorta like this: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/ff/3b/7b/ff3b7b3ebb0107439c11a54e525a8017.jpg)
Emmeline ran her fingers over her hair "This is perfect, thanks." She looked up at him and gave him a warm smile, brushing a few stray hairs off her clothes. She set the mirror back on his nightstand and did a little dance, knowing that she probably looked like a little kid that got something they wanted.
(Oof I was thinking more this but that's okay too — just thought that'd suit her more.)
Miles watched her and shook his head lightly. I still don't even know why she's still here… "Alright then…" He pocketed some money and a few rings that were locked in a small tabletop chest. "I'm planning to head out to a town to sell some stolen rings…. Unsure what you want to do…. But I ain't staying here long."
"I can do whatever," She said with a small shrug "If you don't trust me I can leave or go with you or I could stay here," She glanced at him before looking around the cabin "Whatever you want me to do,"
"Judging from the rule of first impressions, I think you shouldn't stay in the cabin," Miles growled. "But… I'm sure coming with me won't hurt. However, I do have one rule."
He put the mirror back and pointed at her aggressively. "Whatever you do, don't attempt to steal from people in broad daylight." That's the dumbest thing anyone can do. Everyone knows.
Her eyes widened slightly and she nodded "Ok, I'll keep that in mind." She nodded again and then motioned to the door "Are we leaving now?"
“Sure thing….” Miles grabbed all of the essential things — Coin sack, dagger, pouch of stolen rings — and headed out the door. Once Emmiline was out, he locked the door securely and put the key under his shirt on a necklace. “Well… I suppose today we could go to (insert town name here because I’m bad at names)…. What do you think?” I should seriously just go…. she can just follow… And so he went off with her behind him.
Emmeline followed behind Miles quickly, cursing how tall he was and how short she was. Just keeping up to him took so much effort and she had to jog every so often to not fall too far behind. "Do you usually go to town every day?" She asked.
"Depends on how I'm feeling that day." Miles rolled his shoulders. "But usually once in a while." Although I do go every night to get me some goods… He rubbed his hands maliciously, but showed nothing of it. "I'm sure you'll like this town. It's quaint and tiny, and not much guard enforcement… If you know what I mean…" He turned and winked at her.
She smiled and rolled her eyes "I don't steal unless I really need to," She glanced up at him and put up a hand, smiling happily, "Before you say anything, I know that that's weird, only taking what you need? It's a crazy idea.."
