Miles frowned. "That really wasn't what I meant…" This…. Disappoints me…. He shifted to one side. "Look – if you really need this thing," He pulled out a more simplistic locket, much less expensive than the one she took. "Then I won't stop you."
"I'll be fine, this should get me through the next day or two," She held up the bread and tried her best to seem happy. "You need to make money somehow," She continued, eating another small piece.
"….You sure?" He began to walk away with the locket in his hand. I'm not sure what she wants anymore.
She nodded, about to add something when she saw him start to walk away. She sighed "A place to stay for the night would be nice though.." She said softly, knowing that she should've said it sooner.
Miles stopped and beckoned her to follow him. "Then follow me. I have a good hideout kind of place in the woods outside of town."
They went outside of town and into some kind of coniferous wood, and there was a small cabin-shack thing. "Just give me a quick second…" He went inside and locked away all his stuff. I can't really trust this girl… He then opened it back up and invited her inside.
She nodded and walked into the cabin, looking around. She kept the bread from before close to herself, almost as if she was protecting it. "Nice place," Was all she said.
"Thanks. Made it myself," Miles locked away the pendants and stuff. He opened up his wardrobe and pulled out some old robes that seemed to fit the girl's body. "Here's some clothes if you need 'em. There's an extra bed in my room – that's where you'll sleep. I have plenty of food, just…. And I can't stress this enough…." He sighed. "Just don't eat it all."
Emmeline chuckled 'I won't, I promise," She took the robes thankfully, a small smile on her face as she looked at them. "Can I change into these somewhere?" She asked, holding out the robes and looking up at him.
"Yeah," Miles waved her off. "There's another room over there and you can change in there." He pulled his coin pouch from his hip and set it on his night stand. All in a day's work….
"Ok, thank you," She walked into the room and quickly changed, her old and dirty clothes in her arms when she came back out. The robes were quite big on her but she didn't care, they were clean.
"So… You're poor or something?" He said, sitting on his bed. Go figure…. What do you think?
Miles kept his shoes on and lied in his bed. "I mean, what do you do besides try to take stuff from people?"
She nodded "I'm homeless, if that's what you mean and I don't do much besides borrow money without asking when I need food." Emmeline sat on the other bed and kicked her feet absentmindedly "My mother and father wanted a boy when I was born, so they gave me to my aunt and uncle. I lived there for a few years before my uncle got fed up with me and threw me out.."
"Hm that's gotta stink. My parents threw me out once they found out I was a werewolf," Miles said openly without shame. "I may have been violent, but I can control it now that I'm older."
"It was fun for the first few days..but then it went downhill from there." She replied, laying back on the bed and putting her hands behind her head.
(I'm surprised she's not surprised that he's a wolf boi)
"I can imagine…." Miles sighed, laying on his side. "There was this guy that decided to take care of me and teach me how to live off other people. He died from some medical condition, and so…. Here I am."
(Eh, Emmeline is one of my characters that could just care less, she's be like 'oh, you are an unstable vampire that currently wants to kill me? Cool' :3 though she can be very scared or nervous around certain peeps)
"That would've been nice," Emmeline said, focusing on the roof of the cabin. "Oh," She rolled onto her side and looked at Miles "I don't think I ever learned your name, I'm Emmeline but you can call me Em or Emma or something like that."
(Lol okey then)
"I'm Miles. No one really knows me all that well, so call me what you want." Although those annoying shmoopy nicknames can go straight to Oblivion… "I suppose it's nice to meet you…" Even if that first impression was really rickety… He glanced around and stuff before taking a glance out the window. "Well, I'm going to bed. See you in the morning."
"Well, goodnight Miles," She said, rolling back onto her back to stare at the ceiling for a while.
(First thing – time skip? And second – what kind of name do you want for this?)
(Sure, and I don't really know, something cool sounding :3)
(Huaucb okey I'll come up with something later)
Miles woke up very early the next morning, quite refreshed. I haven't had a good sleep like that in weeks… He got out of bed and headed out without a sound. I think I'll get something to eat…. He wandered to a nearby farm of chickens and clambered over the fence. He got some eggs and headed back without damaging them or dropping them. He arrived back at the cabin and set them in the kitchen in the basket before starting a fire in the stove. I've never cooked for more than myself before….
Emmeline was still fast asleep, her hair a mess from tossing and turning. She snored quietly and rolled onto her side, it had been a long time since she had slept in a bed and she was going to sleep as much as she could before she had to go.
Miles continued cooking up some stuff for himself. I bet that girl hasn't slept in days…. I'll wait before I make anything for her…. His stomach growled lightly, and he gave himself a shake of his head. Now's not the time to make noise…..
She yawned quietly and rubbed her eyes, squinting as she sat up. "Mornin'," She mumbled, closing her eyes and stretching.
"Morning –" He glanced at her and almost laughed. "It looks like your hair could use a brush…" At least my hair doesn't get like that… Miles continued to cook up the eggs in a pan on the stove.
