Dominic was sitting looking out the window of the room that the council had provided for him. He had left his dinner untouched, actually, he had left a lot of the meals that he had served him untouched, until he got too hungry. Which was how he feeling right now. His stomach growled loudly, but he tried to ignore it. He had been sitting looking out the window, looking for Matthew every day, hoping that he might come by, but for the past two days, he hadn't shown up.

Eventually, there was a soft knock at the door, then it opened. Matthew slipped in, quietly closing the door behind him. He held a small parcel of food in one hand, remembering how much Dominic had liked his cooking. He had an apologetic look on his face.
"I'm so sorry I couldn't come sooner," he said gently.

Dominic turned and smiled faintly at him, "I-it's alright." he mumbled moving over to him, sniffling quietly, "Matthew, do you know what they're going to do?" He asked giving him a hug, "T-thank you for coming, I thought you weren't coming."

Matthew wrapped his arms tightly around Dominic, wings going around them as well.
"I would never leave you all alone," he said softly. "I… I don't, but what I do know is I'm going to make sure no one hurts you. I swear it, Dominic." he tucked Dominic under his chin, holding the man close.

Dominic mumbled something under his breath, "Do you think that's a possibility?" He said with a sad sigh, "I'm just scared." He muttered under his breath. His eyes had lost their happy glow, and now it looked like his eyes had seemingly lost their happiness. "I want to just go home."

"I don't," Matthew said gently. "I know they won't try to take you away from me." He held Dominic close, picking the other man up.
"And… After all this is done, I can get you back to you're world…" Matthew closed his eyes a moment. He didn't want that, but… he wanted Dominic to be happy again.

Dominic buried his face into Matthew's chest, "N-no, that home, your home." He mumbled with a small sigh. When had he begun to think of that as his home? "If I'm going through all of this to be here, I'm sure as hell going to stay." He said with a small smile, trying to lighten the moment.

Matthew let out a soft, surprised breath at that.
"I… okay then." He smiled just slightly. He moved to sit down with Dominic in his lap, setting the parcel of food down.
"Then I'm going to do everything I damn can to let you stay." Matthew reached up, putting his hand on Dominic's head and holding him close.

He chuckled, "You better, or I think Sir Fluff would get mad at you, and me too." He said with a small smile, looking up at Matthew, his eyes looking a bit brighter and happier, "I miss you." he mumbled, "I guess, well, you really cared about me when others don't, so I really do." His cheeks flushed pink due to him being a little embarrassed to have admitted that.

Matthew ran his fingers a little through Dominic's hair, nodding just a bit with a small blush.
"I… I've really missed you too. You should have someone to care about you."

Dominic shrugged a little bit, moving so that his chin would be resting on Matthew's shoulder, "I, guess so." He mumbled, "But, now I don't." He said with a bit of a smile, although he was sure Matthew couldn't see it.

Matthew smiled just slightly. He sat there for a moment with Dominic.
"I suppose so…" he blushed again, falling silent.
"Have you ate?" Matthew finally asked.

Dominic leaned back and looked at Matthew, then realized what the question was, "Oh, uhm, no. . ." he mumbled, "I'm not hungry." His stomach growled right after he said that, "Well, not really. Please don't make me eat anything though, I feel to nervous to do that."

Matthew let out a soft breath.
"Okay, then I won't. But I did bring some of my cooking for you, for when you do feel well enough to eat." Matthew grabbed the parcel, opening it to show the food he had cooked for Dominic.

Dominics stomach growled again as he looked at the food, "I uhm, I might eat that. Later though." He said as he snuggled close to Matthew again. He really felt safe and comforted in the other man's arms, and he really liked it. He liked the feeling of peace he got being next to Matthew.

Matthew nodded, setting the food to the side. He wrapped his arms around Dominic once more. He rubbed Dominic's back a bit, glad the man was doing so much better than when Matthew had first come. He wrapped his wings around them both, a feathery cocoon that made the world just the two of them for now.

Dominic closed his eyes, hugging Matthew back, "M-Matthew." he whispered softly, "I have a question." He said enjoying the peacefulness of the situation, " Have you helped other people like me before?"

"I have helped people before," Matthew said softly. "But, it wasn't like this… But I wouldn't want to be helping anyone else right now." Matthew rested his head on Dominic's, keeping close.

Dominic smiled a little bit, trying to stiffle a laugh, "HHmph, no more strays then I guess." He said, hoping that Matthew would take it as a joke, "Did you mean that though, when you said I was cute?"

Matthew smiled a bit at what Dominic said.
"I meant it," he said, smiling with a bit of a blush. "And no more strays. I think I've found a k-keeper…" He blushed a bit more.

Dominic's cheeks turned to a dark pink and he buried his face into Matthew's shirt, "HHmph,=." Was all he could get out, especially since he could think of nothing else to say, "T-that's really sweet of you." He said, with tears forming in his eyes, "You know, I'm going to miss you even more this time." he sad sadly, "I don't want to have to leave you just yet." But as he said that, he heard footsteps of one of the guards approaching, "Matthew?" He said, his voice full of worry.

Matthew's grip tightened on Dominic a moment.
"You're hearing with the counsel is tomorrow," he told Dominc quickly. "I'll be there, I promise. Please don't cry…" He pulled Dominc closer to himself a moment, then stood, sitting Dominic down. He hid the food parcel he had brought, going over to the window.
"I promise," he said again softly.

"M-matthew," he whimpered softly, not wanting the other to leave, but trying to be brave, "I-I'll, see you tomorrow then." He murmured, still holding in his tears. He smiled a little bit at him, and tried to respond, but he couldn't and turned away, tears rolling down his cheeks. He had never cried for somebody like this before, he had never felt this lonely, or even this loved by anyone, and all he wanted to be back in Matthew's cottage, hiding under his wings again.

Matthew hesitated at the window, then rushed back over to give Dominic one last hug.
"You're going to be okay," he promised softly. He leaned his head against Dominic's, and the way it was would mean it would be hard to tell if there was a kiss too. Then, he hurried away, ducking out the window and leaving just a single feather.
