"No, I've never once heard of someone here being born without wings. Deformed ones, maybe, but not without any at all. And it is strange…" Matthew shrugged a bit. "But that doesn't mean I don't like you being here. I really do!"
Dominic smiled a little bit, "Oh, that's sweet of you. I mean really, that's super nice. But, if no one has ever seen anything like me, couldn't you get in trouble for knowing someone like me? Or having me around?"
Matthew looked confused.
"Why? You haven't posed any threat to our village. Besides you're basically like us without wings."
"But, I mean, in my world, if something or someone new like you came into our world. You'd be hunted down to be either well tested or. . .Uhm, never mind, let's not talk about that at all."
"What? Why would someone do that?! That sounds horrible!" Matthew cringed a bit.
"It's just our world." He mumbled softly, sort of embarrased that his people would do that, "I'm sorry, really, I mean, it's not good, but that's what happens. I guess we try to to harness their abilities and learn about them, but not in the best way. It is pretty bad."
"I… I don't think I would want to go to your world," Matthew admitted nervously. He drew his wings together, running his fingers over the feathers nervously.
"I-I wouldn't want you to go, it's. . .it's." Dominic searched for a word to describe his world. "It's different from this, and the people aren't as kind, but it's still my home, and things could always be better in any place. Right?"
Matthew nodded a bit, hands still on feathers.
"So… you won't want to stay here for long?" he asked in a soft voice.
"I. . .I don't know. I'd like to stay here, but how would I. . . well, be able to stay alive. I'd practically have to change my species to live here. I'd have to grow wings or a fishtail or something." He meant that jokingly, but it was true, "I'd like to stay for the time being though."
Matthew fell quiet a moment.
"I could be your wings," he finally offered quietly.
Dominic smiled gratefully at Matthew, "Then I'll stay, for now though. Also, that's very nice of you, you don't have to help me out, you know that, right?" He chuckled a little bit and gently squeezed Matthew's hand, "I can mainly fend for myself, except when an avian is pointing a bow and arrow at me, then things change a bit."
Matthew chuckled nervously.
"You startled me," he said in defense of himself. "Besides, I'd love to be the one to help you get to all the higher buildings."
He shrugged, "I guess that makes sense. If I saw a person just basically appear out of nowhere with nothing but a weird looking feather in their hand. And they look somewhat, but very different from me, I'd freak out too. But I don't think I'd be holding a weapon." He sighed softly, Why is he so willing to help me? "A-all right then. . ."
Matthew nodded along, grinning at the last thing Dominic said.
"Thank you for letting me!" Matthew leaned forward, wrapping his arms around Dominic again in a great big hug.
Dominic nodded a little bit as if it was no problem, "You're welcome?" He awkwardly patted Matthew on the back, still not sure as to how to respond the Avian's hugs. It was sweet that he was a hugger, even though Dominic wasn't much of one himself, he didn't mind the hugs to much. He just wasn't used to them, at all, especially from another male. "I think I should be the one saying thank you though."
"I want sure you'd let me, and I really wanted to." Matthew grinned, hugging Dominic a moment longer before pulling away a moment. He stayed seated next to Dominic, grinning brightly.
Dominic chuckled, "That's sweet of you." He mumbled quietly, and looked over at Matthew, "I'm serious, you are really sweet, and you don't have to help me so much. But I really appreciate it." He grinned over at him and this time giving him a hug, "I really do."
Matthew hugged Dominic back, grinning.
"I'm glad I can help," he said softly in turn. "And I'm glad you appreciate it!" He hummed faintly into the hug.
He nodded, "Uh huh." Then looked around the house. It was a nice place, airy, and seemed to be decorated specifically for Matthew, and he really liked it.
Matthew hummed softly, looking around once. Fluff pushed his way onto Dominic's lap, sniffing his face. Matthew laughed lightly.
Dominic gently stroked the griffin's head, and smiled down at it, "To think that cat-sized griffins exist, that's amazing. What do you think Sir Fluff." The Griffen let out a small growl as if in agreement and Dominic chuckled, "My thoughts exactly, do you have any more thoughts on the topic?" . . ." No, well, alright, perhaps another time."
((So sorry, I know Dominic is a weird potato)
(naw, I love him!)
Matthew chuckled a bit at the interaction.
"Well to think we could ever meet is amazing too. It was completely chance." Matthew smiled, reaching over to pet Fluff's head.
((Aw, thank you))
Dominic nodded in agreement, "I wonder what would have become of me had I maybe run into something, or someone else, like a centaur, or a mermaid or something. I wonder if I'd be okay still, or if something bad would have happened to me." He shrugged and grinned down at Fluff, "You are adorable, soooo adorable."
"Well, neither of those are hunting species, so you would've been okay I think. Still, I'm glad it was me." Fluff let out a purr of pride, nuzzling against Dominic's chin.
