((Sorry my brain pretty much just shut down last night))
It had been about a week since their last meetup, and for once, Nico had shown up relatively on time, only five minutes late instead of his usual minimum of 20. He didn’t acknowledge Brenn any more than he normally did, and he figured everything would just be normal. But, as he sat there drinking his iced coffee, he could see one of their friends looking between him and Brenn, their eyes going back and forth, looking at one and then the other. Nico very quickly got annoyed of it.
“Is there something you need?” Nico asked, using a very aggressive tone for such a normally polite sentence.
Brenn noticed it, and he felt just as uncomfortable as Nico did, but he wasn't going to say anything about it. He didn't really know the other guy that well, and he didn't want to cause any problems, but it seemed as though Nico had no qualms with that. Brenn lowered his head a bit and went back to eating his cinnamon roll, Oh gosh. . .
“W-what? Oh, nothing!” The guy said quickly and Nico, apparently satisfied that he’d scared the guy off, leaned back in the booth, relaxing again.
“It’s just-“ the guy continued and Nico groaned, dramatically hitting his head on the table, not enough to hurt though.
Brenn grumbled a bit and looked up from his plate, "It's just what?" He said glaring at the man, "What do you have to say now?" He said with a smirk, crossing his arms.
“Are we seriously not going to talk about what happened with you guys last week?” The guy asked, somehow having the courage to keep speaking.
“Dude..my fucking car broke down! I don’t see why you guys are making this such a big deal!” Nico was trying to not raise his voice, but still ended up attracting the attention of a few nearby tables.
"You must think that we slept together or something, and just letting you know, that didn't happen at all." Brenn glared at everyone at the table, letting everyone know about his anger. "This is stupid, can't people help people sometimes?"
Nico nodded in agreement, his arms crossed over his chest.
The guy, now realizing he got himself into way more drama than he was anticipating, tried to stammer out a sentence in reply but merely gave up, going silent.
Brenn chuckled seeing the guy going quiet, then went back to his cinnamon roll ignoring the conversation that had started out of the silence. He pulled out his phone and sent a text to Nico, asking him if he was okay. As far as he could tell, he didn't seem alright.
Nico, feeling his phone buzz in his pocket, pulled it out. He wasn’t even surprised to see that it was Brenn that had texted him. ‘i’ll be fine, i just get frustrated easily ig’ he texted back.
Brenn nodded, 'Yeah, that makes sense. I just wish that they had respect for our personal space. Do you know what would be funny though? If we actually gave them something to talk about. They seemed to want to gossip, but they don't have anything to gossip about so they just make stuff up. Maybe we should actually give something to them.'
Nico grinned a bit and quickly began to type back a response. ‘ooh! i like the way you think. have any ideas for what we should do?’ He sent the message, briefly looking up at Brenn.
Brenn smirked a bit as he typed, 'I don't know, they seem to think that you and I have some sort of thing going on, so maybe we make it slightly more obvious?' He said glancing up shyly at Nico, a plan hatching in his mind, 'What do you think of that?'
His grin widened as he read the text, momentarily locking eyes with Brenn before texting him back. ‘sounds fun. are we going to make it look like we’re trying to hide it or full out lovey dovey shit?’
Brenn nodded trying to hold in a chuckle, 'Maybe we should start with just the full lovey dovey? But . . .if we make it look like we're trying to hide it, then that'd give them something more to talk about.' He shrugged a little bit, curious what the other man thought about it.
‘hmmm..let’s lead with that then. the more drama the better right?’ he replied, physically having to bite down on his own lip to hold in his laughter.
Brenn nodded, 'How should we start it? Or you know initiate it? Leaving together or something and making it obvious, that we aren't doing anything?'
‘yeah i think that should work well, or we could make some lame excuse and leave like…within two minutes of each other. if that makes any sense.’ He texted back.
"That makes sense. Should I leave first?' Brenn had pretty mcuh finished his cinnamon roll, and he had paid for his food already, so he was good to go. He stretched a little bit, and moved out of the booth. "I think I'm gonna go guys, Moose is probably getting bored at this point, and he could be getting into trouble."
‘sounds good. i’ll go right after you.’ He texted him back before pocketing his phone. He didn’t really say anything as Brenn left. He waited a good two minutes before standing up. “Uh..I think I should get going now..dog and stuff.” He said, making it as awkward as possible before heading out, catching up with Brenn further down the street. “That was awesome!”
Brenn chuckled turning around, "Did you see their faces? They must of been so confused." He said with a smirk, "You're too much, I'm sure they were confused or something."
He chuckled, looking back. If he craned his neck he could see their booth through the window, where their friends were already starting to gossip. “I think we might’ve nailed it honestly.”
Brenn chuckles turned to laughter and he doubled over, lifting his fist up to give Nico a fist bump, "We are amazing man. This is going to be so much fun."
He first bumped Brenn, chuckling softly. “They’re so gullible. This is gonna be legendary once they figure out we played them the whole time.”
Brenn nodded happily, his laughs subsiding, "They really are as dumb as I thought they were. But, uhm. . ." He said with a shrug, "What to do know? We can't go back in our anything, should we uhm. . .Do you wanna go catch a movie or something? It's noon and I'm bored."
