"so you just drink tea all morning? well guess it doesn't matter, sense it's..early….right? and i think i found a good spot to look" dom says looking at curiously at some glass vials sitting on a table.
"so you just drink tea all morning? well guess it doesn't matter, sense it's..early….right? and i think i found a good spot to look" dom says looking at curiously at some glass vials sitting on a table.
“No. Of course not.” Ash replied, raising a brow at the first question. “I only have a cup or two to help me wake up as I break my fast.” she explained though she smiled with interest as Dommity mentioned a place to search for plants. “That's very impressive. Could you perhaps show me this place later?”
"uh, well yeah, it's why I'm here right?" dom says poking gently at one of the vials, 'i wonder if i could come around after. i doubt it' dom thinks frowning a little.
“Well, part of it.” Ash nodded. “I will need your help in the lab as well. There are some things that require more than one set of hands.” she explained before noticing Dommity’s interest in the vials. “Oh, be careful, please. Some of those vials contain more potent or hard to get ingredients.”
dom takes a cautious step back away from the table "ok so should i wait outside for you? i could already start looking if it'd help?"
“No, no. You don't have to leave.” Ash assured. “Besides, if we are going to work together, I would like to know you better.”
"oh, right." dom says a little startled 'i have to say i would like to know a little more about her, or what alchemy is.' "what would you like to know?" they say subconsciously leaning in her direction just a bit.
“Whatever you are comfortable telling me.” Ash shrugs. “And I can tell you similar things about myself.” she offers with a smile.
'does she mean life story? or like favorite color?' they think "well i like mint green i guess, and i mostly still live in the forest."
“That's a nice color.” Ash nodded. “Honestly, I like green too. But more of a bright spring green when everything has just started growing again after winter.” she smiled, though she raised a brow at where Dommity said they lived. “Really? That must be very interesting.”
"really? i think i've been there for like…uhhhhhh, 10 years?" dom says 'dammit, that was over sharing' dom thinks anxiously
“10 years?” Ash asks, partly in concern but also very impressed. “You must be a talented survivalist.” she compliments before giggling softly. “I don't know if I could last that long on my own.”
"well i wouldn't say talented, more like lucky. i'm just glad to be alive." they say looking a bit sad and their eyes get a little watery, "so anything i should know about you?" it says tears gone instantly, replaced with genuine curiosity.
Ash nods at their choice of words but moves to Dommity’s side when she notices the tears. “Are you alright?”
“Well, I am a fair employer and if you ever want to, you can stay here instead of leaving. I have a spare room.” she offers.
"oh, n-no it's fine i just work a few odd jobs here and there. a-and plus i'm kind of on the move most of the time." they say blushing now ash was closer
Ash smiles a little when she sees Dommity blushing but nods. “Alright. That's fine but if the weather turns bad, you are still welcome to stay.” she assures.
(wait what kind of adventure is it, like save the world or is it like a fun little road trip?)
(🤔 maybe not quite a save the world but what if the village gets sick and they have to go find a rare plant, that only grows in a specific area, to make a cure?)
(alright, on it)
seeing her smile made them blush even more, but at that moment they heard a panicked knocking at the door, and a man burst into the room looking terrified "you make medicine, right?! you've got to help us!"
Ash looks up in surprise at the interruption but stays calm even after she sees the look on the man’s face. “Please, calm down, sir. Yes, I can make medicine but, please, tell me what is wrong.” she says soothingly as she meets him halfway in the room.
"please my daughter's been sick for a while but it's gotten much worse!" the man says panicked, which sets dommity into a panic "oh no, where is she?! What's going on?!"
“It's alright, Dommity.” she assures, not wanting them to panic. “Give me one moment to collect a few things and we’ll go see your daughter. Can you tell me her symptoms?” she asks as she walks to her workbench and begins gathering some of her standard equipment and medical remedies.
"she has a heavy fever and red welts all over, and lately she has been coughing blood." he said a bit calmer now "so is there anything i can do to help?" they say matching the tone in the room.
Ash raises a brow at the last part but nods as she adds a few more things to her bag. “If you don't mind, Dommity, could you run upstairs and grab some fresh cloths? They’ll be in the basket next to the first door.” she informs before she quickly goes over to a shelf and grabs two specific books.
Dom runs upstairs, forgets what it was, runs half way back down the stairs, remembers, and come back with the clothes. "this is what you need right?"
Ash looks at the fabric Dommity brought her and nods. “Yes. This will do nicely.” she smiles softly and picks up her bag. “We are ready, sir. Please lead the way.”
they walk to his house at the very edge of town. they continued on to her room where there was a girl around 14 laying on a bed showing the said symptoms of illness, around her were the man's wife who jumped up, hopeful that they could save her, and little boys, not yet old enough to understand what was happening. "thank goodness you came, she is getting worse!" at the sight of her dom pulls ash back a few steps "wait, i think i might remember this. if i'm right it's contagious."
Ash nods at the mother, already observing the sick girl, before Dommity pulls her back. “You've seen this before?” she asks, glancing back at the girl.
"umm. maybe? i remember an outbreak in the caves i grew up in once, and my cousin got infected. i think it carries from rodents, and it's fairly common and treatable in the mountains. hopefully i'm wrong." dom say covering their mouth and nose in with the cape.
