Janet smiled very softly. Her gaze was set down, looking at the sand. "Are you sure? I didn't have your consent and you seemed nervous after…" She said softly. It was a slight relief to hear that, but she still felt bad. Her frown had disappeared, a nervous and neutral face replacing it.
'Don't do it…' He tried to tell himself, but went ahead and leaned in anyways. Pecking her lips carefully, he gave her a soft look to follow. "One-hundred percent sure. Don't worry about it Janet." He smiled, before leaning back in his place. He didn't want to bother her, but only show her it was fine with him.
Janet looked up at Axel, her eyes a little wider than normal, but a small smile set on her lips. Obviously, all her worries had been false and there had been no need to be so nervous. She slowly wrapped her arms around Axel, leaning herself against him.
"Do you happen to know the time?" He asked softly, resting his own head on hers. He wanted to make sure they had time, so they could go swimming, and do anything else before it got too late. It was already starting to get breezier the longer they sat on the beach together.
"No. I don't really pay attention to time all that much, especially on the weekends. Only if there's something super important then I do, sorry." She answered, just as soft. She kind of liked feeling timeless, not stressing about time and when or where to be places.
"Alright, that's OK." He smiled, nuzzling her cheek. "Want to test the waters out? It's been pretty warm the past few days." Axel offered, standing up and holding a hand out to her. "So it shouldn't be too cold."
Janet's smile grew, happily taking Axel's hand. "Definitely!" She loved water, she was on her high school's swim team all through high school. She had never been a captain, but that didn't mean anything. "Even if it was a little cold, it would be fine.."
"I feel the ocean is easier to cool down than it is to heat up, so it might still be chilly." He hummed, scooping her up over his shoulder without much notice. "You know how to swim, right?" Axel double checked, as he trotted up to the ocean's edge.
Janet let out a short yelp, surprised. "Yeah I do, I was on my high school's swim team for four years." SHe said, smiling. She hadn't been in the water since then, but swimming isn't an easy thing to forget how to do. She giggled as they got closer to the water.
"Oh really? You learn something new every day." He chuckled, setting her down once they hit ankle lapping waters. "Let me take my shoes and jacket off," He hummed, after setting her down. Yanking his socks and shoes off, he tossed them over to the dry sand.
"Yeah! I have some medals and trophies if you wanna see them someday!" She said, watching him take his shoes and socks off. She walked a little further into the water, it was the perfect temperature. This made her miss swimming more than she had in a while.
Yanking off the jacket, he tossed it over with his shoes. "I'd love to! As long as you're willing that is." He chuckled, coming up behind her barefooted. Arms now bare to the sun now, he picked her up once more by the waist. Twirling with her in his arms, he laughed out more joyfully this time.
Before Janet could say anything else, she was being twirled around. She giggled and gripped Axel's arms that were around her waist. Once he finished, she took his hand and pulled him further into the water with her, it was soon knee-deep.
Laughing softly, he splashed water at her with a bright smile. "This feels great!" Axel exclaimed, diving in below the water. After about 30 seconds, he popped back up to the surface, flicking his hair back with his head. "So refreshing…"
She jumped back slightly at the splash. She watched Axel as he went underwater and resurfaced. After he came up, she fell back and submerged herself under the water. It was perfect. She resurfaced quite a while later, a huge smile on her lips. "It would be amazing to live in a houseboat…"
"Or possibly even a beach house." He hummed, crouching down in the water next to her. "Then you could be on land, and swim whenever you want." He chuckled, his gaze resting on her face.
Janet smiled, nodding. She floated on her back and looked up at Axel. "Yeah, that would be perfect. Ooh, imagine if you built a house on this beach and bought the land, then no one could come here without your permission, and it'd be a beach house on this beautiful beach."
That idea had never crossed his mind. Not once. But now visions started to spark, and they all included Janet. Together, the two would live here, on the gorgeous beach. "That's the best idea I've ever heard." He whispered, standing up from his place.
She smiled brighter, standing up as well. She just hoped that she would be included in such a thing. It would be wonderful, just the two of them living in an adorable and cozy beach house, on one of the most beautiful beaches she's ever seen. "If you want to actually go through with it, I would be more than happy to pitch in some funds."
Turning his head to her, he gave her an odd look. "I couldn't ask you to do that," Axel replied rather quickly to her offer. "I wouldn't want to ask you to that. Of course, a helping hand would be different." Speaking clearly, his easygoing smile came back to his lips. He wouldn't ask for her money, not in a million years. But her help, he would take gratefully.
"What if… we lived in the beach house… together?" She asked in a whisper, "Then I could help *and I could pitch in some." She almost felt bad for asking since this beach was his little place and she just happened to be lucky enough to come with him.
Axel shot his brows up in surprise. 'Is she a mind reader? Oh I sure hope she isn't.' He worried, not exactly positive she was. "I… I was thinking the same thing. Though I still wouldn't ask for your money. It's yours, I can't ask to take it."
Janet's eyes went wide. "Really? I guess it's a plan then!" She said, excitedly wrapping her arms around Axel's torso. "But aren't people that live together supposed to pay for stuff together?" She asked, looked up at him, still smiling.
Hugging her upper torso, he sighed resting his head on hers. "Why are you making this so difficult?" He teased, taking in the scent of her ocean dampened hair. "I really don't want you to pay. It's your money, not my own I can just spend."
She buried her face in his chest, taking in his scent which was now overtaken by the scent of the ocean. "I'll find a way to pay for something, okay? You can't do everything. But of course, I'll happily help anywhere else, okay?" She said, muffled a little by his wet clothing.
