Her smile brightened. "Thank you, I hope you're right." She said, looking at Axel. She knew it was true, but she still liked the thought of writing her own songs. Maybe one day she would get one figured out, but for now, she didn't need to worry about it.
"I'm positive I am. What do you say we go back and finish our tea? I can bring my guitar and play while we're down stairs." He offered her, pushing up from the wooden chair he was sitting in.
"That sounds nice." She said, standing up as well. The tea was probably the perfect temperature so she could enjoy it at it's best. Knowing where she was now, she started heading out of the room then down the stairs to the kitchen.
Guitar in hand, he followed after Janet with a soft smile. She really did look nice in that dress, it suited her well. "Have you ever played before?" He asked her softly, holding it off the ground so it wouldn't get damaged.
Before answering the question, she grabbed her tea and took a sip. "I think I might have played it once a very long time ago, but I really don't remember." She said smiling as she turned back to Axel. She liked the dress as well, it was really nice and comfortable.
"Would you ever consider trying to learn?" He asked softly, picking at the strings with a soft smile. The sound of it echoing in the room, was a very welcoming sound to him. "Because I could teach you, if you wanted to. It's alright if you wouldn't want to." He hummed, reaching over for his own tea cup.
"Maybe! It would be fun to learn and it's a good instrument to go with singing, if I got good enough at playing, that is." She said, watching the guitar strings. Janet sat back in a chair, relaxing in it with her teacup in hand.
Giving her a sweet smile, he sipped from his cup. "Just ask, and I'll do what I can to show you!" He hummed with his smile, setting the warm cup aside. "I'd be plenty happy to teach you, free of charge. Your company is pleasure enough."
Janet returned a smile, watching Axel. "Thank you, I really appreciate that." This man was one of the kindest people she's ever met, not demanding anything and not making her do things she doesn't want to, not even commenting at all about her obvious color difference of skin.
His heart seemed to lift in his chest, when she returned the smile. "Anytime, really." Axel told her, leaning the guitar against the table. Finally, he began to sip from the warm teacup, relaxing into the chair he was sitting in. "What would you want to do today?"
Not saying anything for a bit, she thought about it. "I'm not sure really, just spending time with you is enough honestly." She said with a little smile on her lips. "Speaking of being with you, um, are we a thing or something. Because at this point I think we both know we like each other and stuff, so I just wanna know your point of view." Her voice went quite a bit quieter, a little nervous about what she was saying.
Giving her a soft smile, he set his cup aside to take her hands in his own. "Well, it depends what you're thinking. I don't want to put you in a place, you would be nervous in. If this is what you want too, then I'd be happy to take you out on an actual date." Axel hummed to her, pressing a kiss to the back of her hand sweetly.
"I would love that!" She said, a bright smile appearing on her face. Janet had finally come to the solid realization, that she did in fact like Axel, and more than thinking he's a great guy. Of course, she had already known that, but it was more that it finally registered.
Standing himself up, he smiled down to her. "Are you free at all next week? I'd offer for this week, but I'm actually busy." He hummed, pulling her up after him. Resting a hand on her waist, and lacing their fingers together, he pulled her over to the middle of the kitchen for a slow dance.
Following Axel, she rested her free hand on his shoulder and smiled up at him. "I think I am, I'm not a very busy person so I bet I'll be free whenever." She said softly. In truth, she was still looking for a job, so she wasn't bound by work yet.
"Well how about next Friday evening? Do you think you'll be open to going out with me that night?" Axel asked softly, spinning in a tight circle around the room. "I want to make sure plans fit with you, before I go off and start working everything out."
Janet furrowed her eyebrows and shifted her gaze to the side, trying to remember if there was anything that day. Coming to a conclusion, she smiled and looked back up to Axel. "That sounds perfect! I'm free that whole day."
"Oh lovely! I've got work until about noon, but it shouldn't be anything to worry about." He hummed, leaning in to rest his forehead on top of hers. "You know, your eyes are really pretty." Axel whispered, shutting his own eyes to suck in a deep breath.
(Oh geez, I thought I responded, but instead, I guess I just read it and didn't do anything else, sorry about that :)
Her face warmed, but there was no color difference. Smiling, Janet pecked the tip of Axel's nose then leaned her forehead back on his. "Thank you…" She whispered just as softly back. "If anything changes, I'll call you."
(It's all good! Don't worry about it~)
Giving her a tender smile, Axel continued to sway softly with her in the middle of the kitchen. "Imagine… this is what it would be like living in a house on the beach." Axel told her, picturing the two together.
Janet closed her eyes, imagining it herself. She wanted nothing more than to live in that imaginary house with him. Someday she hoped it would be more than imaginary. "That would be perfect… more than perfect actually."
"I can just imagine us building it, and then us sitting by the fire place, singing songs while I play my guitar." Axel grinned, twirling her around before pulling her close. "It sounds like a dream." He whispered, holding both of her hands in his own.
Janet nodded, softly smiling up at Axel. "It does sound like a dream, but I know it'll happen someday, we just have to put in the work." She already knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with this man, only knowing him for a few hours didn't change that a bit. Almost hesitantly, she stood on the balls of her feet and planted a soft kiss on Axel's lips.
Axel was quite surprised, to say the least. Though it only took him a couple of seconds to relax, and kiss back. It was odd how lovely it felt to kiss her. It seemed to stir something deep in his chest, something he wasn't sure he would normally let through. Though with Janet, everything was completely different. Not a bad kind of different, just different.
Janet smiled, pulling back slightly to look at Axel again. "I'm not sure if I've said this yet or not, but if I have I'm gonna say it again. I really enjoyed being with you so far today, it was really nice, thank you." She tightened her arms around Axel a little more and buried her face in the crook of his neck.
