RinRin speaks, "Look." He touches Yamakawa's arm. With the other hand he touches to both Clarissa's and Seira's hand. He projects the vision he had this morning, recently renewed with precision. The vision is of the four of them, arm in arm, laughing and generally having a good time. See? Destiny demands it. All of our unique timelines converge on this point, he says telepathically. He lets the vision fade as he removes his hand from theirs. "Something brought us together," he says aloud, "four powerful elementalists."
"I think something big is going to happen… and I fear we will be the only ones who can stop it."
Seirá hums contemplatively.
"Hmmmm. . . no, I'm good. I mean, I like the world and all, but if it's going to end, what place do mere humans have trying to stop it?"
"Have you forgotten?" he asked. "We are not mere humans. There are only about 100 people in America that have unique abilities. The rest of them are mere mortals." He raises his eyebrows. "We are 4 in 100."
"Do you truly know the nature of your other side?"
"We're human. We bleed, we die. We age. We are not all-powerful. We have limits. Hell, I have an extra inhibitor. At night I'll be working against you. I turn Dark, remember? I can't exactly help y'all." Seirá snorts.
"I know that half of me is angelic, the other demonic. Though the other me isn't technically me. It's merely a being placed in this vessel. I keep her at bay during the day, she takes over at night."
After the vision fades away, Yuuki nods in agreement with Seirá. It was a bit too much of a task for him to understand how to go about taking on.
"Yeah I agree with… sorry, what's your name?" he felt a bit awkward for not knowing, but he shrugged it off. "Anyway, you're right, we are four in a hundred. But that means there are 96 more, how can you be sure that only we can stop whatever big thing is upcoming?"
"Not necessarily… I sense we have a little time before this threat shows itself. That time could be wisely used to attempt to tame your darker side." RinRin sighed. "I will step up to the challenge no matter the consequences. If I die, I will die fighting for the world."
"We may bleed, but there are ways to increase our resistance and the strength of our abilities."
"I'm already committed. Who's with me?"
"My name's Seirá." she replies, turning to Yuuki for a moment.
"We have a little time, huh? Yeah, still no. I understand the idea of saving the world. I would if I could. But I'm kinda just a liability with the second person in me, y'know? The dark me can't be tamed. She's unpredictable. She may pretend to work with you, then turn around and stab you in the back right at the finish line. She has no issues torturing and killing and she is perfectly okay with terrorism. Literally everyone that's seen her out and about is either dead or being killed."
The Unknown element. "The Unknown element." RinRin echoed. "It is called Unknown for a reason. No one knows the capabilities… But I suspect when combined with Mind, anything is possible. Yamakawa, do you think this is possible?"
Seirá blinks, then narrows her eyes.
"We are not digging through my head."
"No, friend. I speak of the element Mind," RinRin reassures her.
(Please give me time, I do need to think before I respond. ;-;)
"Huh, what, me?" Yuuki was perplexed by the sudden question thrown his way, but regardless he gave a thought.
"Anything, hm? Well… maybe not. Even Mind, as great as it may be, has limits, paired with the unpredictability and semi-uncontrollable nature of The Unknown element, it's highly unlikely that anything is possible. After all, it's 'Unknown' not 'Unlimited'. But regardless, a fair deal will still be possible… I guess." He sighs and puts a hand on his forehead. "Anyway, I don't know why you think I'd have an answer. I'm no genius."
(I thought yuuki did research on abilities?)
(Yes, he does, but that wouldn't mean he has all the answers lol. And you're fine no need to apologize!)
Clarissa was completely blown away by the vision and a little unprepared for the telepathy but she smiled at RinRin… Though that turned into a scowl as the others declined. “Well, I'm in. I may not be the strongest one here but if the two of you are going to chicken out then you're going to need a healer, Rin.”
"Your analytical skills are superior to mine, so I found it fit to ask you." RinRin says. He allows his red eye to shine brighter. "Thank you, Clarissa." He smiles. "Yamakawa, if you should decline, I ask only that you battle me in return." His voice is filled with melancholy. "Fate isn't kind to those who avoid it. If you change your mind, Seira, I'll be at the beach most days."
Attention! I will not be here next week(Thanksgiving break from school). If I can get notebook to work on my phone, I will be online a lot. Otherwise, I'll be back on Monday Nov 28.
(Oh ok. I hope you enjoy your break.)
"Battle you..? Why would I do that?" Yuuki snickers a little. "Did I hurt your poor feelings? Ha. Jokes aside, I won't fight you, I don't have a reason to. Nor do I have a reason to fight for the world. And besides, is it really fate if I can avoid it?"
He walks closer and clasps a hand on RinRin's shoulder, his brown eyes settle on RinRin's eyes, staring closely as he continues speaking. "I'm really sorry to disappoint, but unless you can give me a really good reason, I won't be able to do it. I will not go along with a vague vision of a stranger, so at the very least, tell me why I should trust you."
Seirá shrugs eloquently.
"I'll keep that in mind. But I doubt I'll be any help in my night form." she reiterates.
She listens to Yuuki and RinRin curiously.
"I can vouch for his motives. In a way, he's doing research with his battles with us. I think you can understand that, can't you, Yamakawa?" she smiles, encouraging.
His gaze shifts from RinRin to the girl with two-toned hair, not exactly a friendly gaze, but not quite an angry one. More of… a bothered one, more than anything.
"Yeah, sure, whatever. But I'm more than the research guy, despite what you seem to believe. I have friends and family that I'd rather die with than without. And I have things I don't want to waste time with." He sighs and backs up from RinRin, taking a seat on the ground, fixing his gaze on the not-so-distant park and the children playing at it.
"I really don't know why you guys are so easily convinced to trust strangers, it's alarming. That and your willingness to throw yourselves away to stop some sort of premonition…" He sets his head in his hands before finishing his mini speech. "Man, I at least wanted to graduate, but if you won't shut up because I'm so special, I guess I'll join you."
