Callista had been standing next to the fridge, snacking on lunch meat idly. The snakes on her head were tied up into a dark green headscarf and quietly hissed as she ate. "Here," she muttered and grabbed the box and handed it to Mitch. She turned back to the fridge to grab the near-empty jug of milk and handed that to him too. She slid across the floor on polka-dotted socks to sit at the table and popped her last slice of ham into her mouth.
Kyo gave a small laugh at the short male trying to get the cereal. "I'm alright. Once I finish this assignment I'm just going to head to sleep." He promised, yawning again. His eyes were a bit red, bloodshot. It looked like it was from dehydration.
Ari watched Mitch for a moment, then walked over and helped his shorter roommate reach the cereal, by grabbing it for him. "Here." he said, looking down at Mitch with an amused smile. "We really need to get a stepstool for you, shorty." he patted Mitch's head with a hand, then stepped away. He stretched again, looking out the window and letting out a soft sigh.
Mitch frowned a little, then almost panicked when Ari patted his head in fear in him feeling his horns, but it looked like Ari didn’t based off his lack of surprised reaction reaction. “Thanks,” He said, also taking the milk from Callista. What I really need is my wings… He shook his head a little before walking up beside Kyo and setting the food down before he went and got a bowl, “You should eat something, it’s better to have just a little bit than nothing at all,” Mitch said as he poured a bowl out. Despite his words, Mitch didn’t eat often and was very skinny.
"… I ate some, technically. Does coffee count as food? It totally counts." Kyo muttered to himself, typing something on his laptop. "Definitely counts."
Ari shook his head. "Kyo, eat. Seriously. Even I know that you need to eat, and…I come from a place where there isn't much food to go around." he shrugged a little, eyes narrowing for a moment, then clearing again. "You're going to starve to death, and I don't think any of us want that." he told the other male.
“It most certainly does not,” Mitch said defiantly, already walking over to get a glass of water for Kyo, then taking it back to him and putting his free hand in front of the laptop screen, “I don’t want you to do anymore until you eat and drink something that isn’t coffee.”
Kyo literally hissed, grabbing his laptop and cradling it like a baby. "This has a bunch of coding on it!" He pulled it close to his chest, stroking it and muttering things to it.
Ari rolled his eyes, and reached out, bending down until his face was level with Kyo. "Kyo, so help me, you are going to eat if I have to hold you down while Mitch stuffs food down your throat." he said in a mildly threatening tone. For a moment, his eyes almost seemed to glow, then he blinked and it was gone.
"As long as you don't touch my baby, we'll be okay." He narrowed his eyes, they looked like slits for a split second before going back to regular pupils. Kyo set down his laptop and watched it as he took a bite of the food.
(Hey, I gotta go to bed in like fifteen minutes. Just a heads-up)
Ari nodded, backing up again and crossing his arms as he watched Kyo eat. His lips were set in a relaxed line.
Callista stared Kyo in the eye and perched two of her fingers on the table, then slowly walked them towards the computer. She stopped them a few inches from it and poised her fingers to pounce. She hummed the Jaws theme as she raised her fingers in the air. Of course, she wasn't actually going to touch it, especially because her fingers were greasy as hell, but she wanted to see if her roommate actually thought she would or not.
Mitch’s shoulders relaxed a little when Kyo ate, satisfied at last, “Thank you,” He said with a tiny smile, something he didn’t give out often, before moving to sit on the couch. He couldn’t get comfortable—that would require him to lean back, and therefore crush his wings since he had to keep them pulled so close to his body to hide them.
Kyo used his elbows to guard his laptop, glaring at Callista. He forced the food down his throat, grimacing a bit. Gods above, he hated human food. The only good human food pure sugar and bloody meats.
Mitch sighed, “What are you all doing for the rest of the day? Other than homework, of course.” Mitch was hoping to sneak out to somewhere secluded so he could spread his too cramped wings. It felt like it had been too long since he had gotten a chance to relax a little. Sometimes he wished he could get to tell his friends about himself, but they wouldn’t understand. Incubi weren’t exactly known for being a good type of demon.
Callista grinned at Kyo and leaned back in her chair. "I have a hair appointment today and I'll probably get some lunch after that," She replied. Truthfully, Callista's snakes were going to shed and she needed privacy for them. The 'lunch' that she was going out for was the weekly feeding session, where she'd go out to buy 10 live rats to feed the five Rosy Boas that were currently wrapped in her headscarf. It was irritating to hide five mature snakes from her roommates at all times, but she couldn't exactly tell them "Hey, look, I'm like Medusa," without them freaking out and the cops being called.
"I'm probably going to hole up in my room, study and binge shows." Kyo shrugged. In reality, he was going to turn on Netflix and pile all the blankets in the house on himself to try and find the right feeling to at least imitate his pelt.
Ari shrugged. "Eh. No idea." He replied. "Honestly, probably the same as Kyo. Or go for a walk, enjoy the open spaces." He sat down, stretching his legs out to their full length happily. He stretched his arms before crossing them across his stomach.
Mitch nodded absentmindedly, “Sounds nice.” Mitch stood up from the couch again and began walking back and forth—one of his habits that he never really realized he slipped in to. He nibbled on the inside of his cheek, wishing there was something better they could do. Mitch genuinely enjoyed hanging out with his mortals friends, mostly because they didn’t know what he was. Mitch thought for a moment, before finally saying, “Hey, would you guys want to go to a party later tonight?” He asked, stoping his pacing to turn to the group. Mitch normally went to parties to regain his strength -something he was never really fond of- but it wouldn’t hurt to go out and have fun with his friends, right?
"No way in hell." Kyo said curtly, hugging his arms around himself. You could look for your skin there. A logical part of his brain reasoned, though it was shut down by: Yeah, but people.
“Awww c’mon, I’ll be lonely if I go out alone,” He pouted, plopping back down on the couch, and desperately trying to hide his wince as he squished his sensitive wings under his back.
Ari grinned. "Oh, I'll go." He volunteered. He enjoyed parties; he really did. After centuries of loneliness, it was enjoyable to hang around with people, even if he wasn't very good at socializing. He looked at Kyo. "Come on, it'll be fun!" He wasn't sure why this human was so… stubborn, why he hardly did anything sociable.
Kyo ignored the puppy dog eyes at least one of them was giving him. "No." He sighed. "And Ari will go with you so you aren't lonely. Let me sleep."
“I’ll go, as long as I can leave whenever I want,” Callista said. She did like going to parties, but if her headscarf fell off or an eye contact fell out she turned into quite the party pooper. Well, more like party killer.
Ari sighed loudly. "Come on, Kyo! Live a little! You're only young once!" He exclaimed. He looked at Callista. "I'm sure it's fine if you leave when you want to. No one is going to force you to stay behind." He said, then looked at Kyo. "Come on, all the rest of us are going!"
