"Some repair rooms, for the most part. A guest area." he replied with a slight shrug, eyes still trained on the area he was fixing.
"Some repair rooms, for the most part. A guest area." he replied with a slight shrug, eyes still trained on the area he was fixing.
Thesa nodded, scanning through the book until a certain part caught her attention, "Do you usually have guests on board?"
"No, but I needed room just in case." Alexei replied. "People do visit sometimes, you know." He continued to work.
"I didn't know if this ship was strictly invention driven or if it was multi-purpose," She replied, flipping through more of the book. It wasn't very interesting, but she enjoyed how old it was.
"Multi-purpose." Alexei said simply. He frowned a little, leaning closer to see Zev's wrist better.
Thesa hummed in response, getting up again to put her book back. When she sat back down, she asked, "I have a question, if you don't mind answering. Why was Zev left on the ship in the middle of space anyway? Just curious."
Alexei frowned a little bit. "Because of…certain reasons that I cannot divulge." he said slowly.
"Ah, alright." She nodded, not satisfied with that answer in the least. Thesa wouldn't mention that though, instead, she just decided she would find out on her own eventually.
Alexei coughed for a moment, breaking away from working to turn and cough into his elbow.
Thesa didn't say anything, she just sat in her chair and looked around at all the books. No other ones caught her eye enough for her to want to get up and look at any of them, so she just stayed put.
Alexei went back to work, taking a deep breath.
"Would you be alright if I explored your ship at all right now?" Thesa finally asked, getting antsy sitting still without being able to do much more than walk around the room, "I won't touch anything, I'm just bored."
Alexei looked over. "Ah. Yes, of course, you are welcome to." he repleid.
She nodded, standing up and walking to the door. Thesa didn't leave without first saying, "Thank you." But then she was out the door, unsure of where to start her exploration.
Alexei nodded. "Of course." He replied. He continued to work on Zev.
Thesa turned down a random hallway, looking around curiously and just letting herself get lost in the maze of hallways and rooms. It was a pretty ship, but one that she would have to learn the layout of soon.
Alexei continued to work on Zev, rewiring the hand so that it would no longer malfunction.
She ended up turning down a hallway that a faint smell of food came floating from. Not just the freeze-dried meals she was used to though, this smelled like actual, delicious, food. Thesa followed the smell easily, walking towards a set of doors that she assumed the smell was coming from.
Alexei continued to work, speaking quietly to Zev as he did.
For a second, she just looked around, trying to see if anyone would stop her from going in. No one did and she opened the doors, going through and looking around the kitchen for wherever the delicious smell was coming from.
The kitchen was staffed with two humans and three androids, all five working on cooking.
Thesa scanned the room, stepping inside further and watching the people and androids cook. It wasn't hard to distinguish the androids, they weren't as advanced as Zev. They still cooked good though, she decided as she started to walk around, searching for the delicious smell that had led her to the kitchen in the first place.
The human staff talked among themselves as they worked, occasionally turning to the androids to give them instructions on what to do.
She was silent for a minute, watching them cook for a while before asking with a look of embarrassment, "Sorry to bother you guys, but would it be possible that I could get a plate of whatever you're cooking? It smells delicious."
The cooks looked up. One of the humans, an older woman, smiled a little and nodded. "Of course."
