"I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner. Phones might not be interdimensional, but my magic is. All magic, really."
"I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner. Phones might not be interdimensional, but my magic is. All magic, really."
"You think so?" Aiki came a bit closer and looked at Farah curiously. "I never really thought about it before."
"Yes," Farah said. "Your magic works in the Otherworld, and my magic works here. Magic is universal. It can be channeled and sent from anywhere."
"Oh, right! And you've got mind magic stuff, so does that mean you can send messages directly to Saul? Is there a distance limit?" They asked.
Farah sighed softly. "I can try." Her eyes glimmered with hope.
"Do… do you want us to leave? I don't know how your power works, or if you need extra concentration, or whatever." Aiki said awkwardly.
"No," Farah murmured. "Stay." She smiled, and her eyes turned silver-blue with the activation of her magic.
"Alright…" Aiki and Eiji sat down at the table, keeping quiet so they wouldn't distract Farah.
Farah inhaled slowly and closed her eyes. Saul. She knew his feelings. She would find him.
The twins watched her curiously with their heads tilted slightly to the side. They stayed silent for now.
Farah winced lightly. Saul. Saul.
–
Saul was in his room at Alfea, lying down. His gaze was straightforward, and he was nearly falling asleep.
Aiki yawned, and Eiji rested his head on one hand. Both looked away, feeling awkward just watching Farah.
Saul.
Saul sat bolt upright and whipped his head around, looking for the owner of the voice in his head. He knew exactly who it was – he could recognize her voice anywhere.
Farah?
A gasp burst from Farah's lips. A tear slipped out from her closed eyes. "He heard me," she whispered.
"He heard you? Really? What did he say?" Aiki asked, standing up from their seat a bit. Eiji grinned, his heart pounding with anticipation. "What's going on there? Did he say?"
"He said my name," Farah replied. Are you alright? she asked urgently.
Saul's eyes still hopelessly searched for her. A little sore, but yeah. Are you?
I'm safe, yes. Why are you sore?
Rosalind's new training program.
Farah gritted her teeth and curled her lip into a sneer. "Damn Rosalind."
Aiki searched Farah's face closely, trying to pick up on any clues since they couldn't hear the conversation. He seemed antsy, and they were clearly eager to know what was happening. "Rosalind? What did Rosalind do? He's okay?"
But you're alright? Not hurt?
No, just sore.
"He's okay," Farah breathed thankfully. "Rosalind apparently has started a new training program." Are the Burned Ones getting worse?
Farah, it's hell here without you. Rosalind can do whatever she wants.
"A new training program? That doesn't sound all that sinister… she's got to be planning something." Aiki sighed, sitting back down to think. "Has he found any way to get a ring to get you back? Him or Luna?"
Farah began to sob quietly at Saul's words to her. "He said it's hell without me. Rosalidn can do whatever she wants." Is Luna alright? Can you use her ring to get me back?
I haven't spoken to Luna in days, Farah. I'm sorry, I've been trying as hard as I can to get you back.
She knew it. Farah began to smile through her sobs. "He's been trying to bring me back," she whispered.
Aiki sighed softly, not sure what to do to comfort Farah. "At least he's trying his best, yeah? Saul's strong, and I'm sure he's determined. We'll get you back home in no time. What about Luna? Did he say anything about her?" They asked.
"He hasn't spoken to her in days," Farah answered. I know, my love. I've been trying to find ways back from the First World too.
"Ah… is she okay? Did she just go back home?" Aiki asked tentatively. He already felt guilty enough for this whole situation.
"Probably. Rosalind wouldn't dare to hurt her. I'll ask him." Has Luna been in the capital?
Yes, I think so. She was taken back right after you were pushed through the gateway.
Farah nodded. "Yes, she's in Solaria's capital with her mother, the queen." What happened to you after Rosalind shut the gateway?
He didn't answer right away.
"Alright… at least she's okay." Aiki sighed softly in relief. He watched Farah's expression some more and noticed her grow worried, so they started to worry as well. "Is everything okay? What happened?"
"Hold on," Farah murmured to Aiki. "There's something Saul isn't telling me." Saul. Tell me what happened.
Far, I don't want to talk about it.
She sighed quietly. "He won't tell me what happened after the gateway shut."
