Aiki eventually started to walk on their own, although they were sulking about it.
Aiki eventually started to walk on their own, although they were sulking about it.
Farah rolled her eyes a bit. "Would you stop acting so hormonal?"
"Ah?" Aiki looked up at Farah and flushed. Eiji snickered, clearly amused. "I'm… I'm not acting hormonal!" They insisted, which only made Eiji laugh more.
Farah arched her eyebrows. "Oh really? Then what do you call this whole act?" she asked, motioning to all of him.
Aiki flushed harder, the fur on his tail bristling as he huffed. "What exactly are you implying, hah?" They turned their ears back, clearly flustered and irked.
Farah shook her head. "I already told you. Hormonal."
Aiki scoffed, ducking his head a bit as they sulked. Eiji bristled a bit at the wave of emotions emanating from his twin, but seemed amused nonetheless.
Farah looked away, back in the direction of the city. She didn't have to be here.
"Ai, you gotta chill. I don't like… feeling all your emotions." Eiji shuddered, his own tail bristling like Aiki's. Aiki huffed and snapped back, and soon they and Eiji were bickering like usual.
As the twins bickered, Farah stopped walking. They continued on without her, and Farah made her way back to the city. Maybe there, she could find someone who could help her get back to the Otherworld.
It took Aiki and Eiji a while to notice that Farah had gone missing. Eiji was evidently the more dominant of the two, and Aiki seemed to be more intimidated by him than he was of them. Eventually, they glanced up and behind themselves and noticed Farah's absence. Aiki immediately became frantic and scattered, and Eiji just sighed and pulled out his phone to try and call her.
Farah answered on the fourth ring. "I'm alright. Real observant kids you two," she said shortly. "Don't try to find me." Then she hung up.
"Farah, I-…" Eiji sighed as she hung up, and Aiki whined anxiously at him. They bickered a bit more, and then headed into the building. There wasn't much they could do right now anyways.
Farah roamed the city streets. Again she made the mistake of passing by the corner with the catcallers.
"Hey sexy!"
"Come over here, let me get some of that!"
The man wolf-whistled, earning laughs from the others. Farah curled her fingers into fists and kept walking.
Aiki and Eiji went to their respective classes. It was definitely good for them to be separated at the moment; with both of them irritable, emotional, and generally hopped up on hormones, they were destined to fight with each other more. They were still pretty irritable by the time they made it to their classes.
Farah kept her chin raised as she walked and maintained long strides with her legs. She would cover every inch of this city and this planet to find someone who could get her back to the Otherworld.
Eventually, school ended and Aiki and Eiji met back up to fight with each other as they searched the city for Farah. Aiki was almost always the instigator considering their more emotional, sensitive disposition, and him picking fights only irritated Eiji into retaliating. Between their bickering, they called Farah's name and looked around for her.
Farah sighed and was about to give up when she heard someone calling her name. She looked around and saw– "Oh God," she groaned.
"Farah!" Both twins spotted Farah almost simultaneously and dashed towards her. "Are you okay? W-Why'd you run away again?" Aiki asked, turning his ears back. "The gross guys are gonna bother you again!" Eiji insisted, still a bit irritated from Aiki's antics.
"I didn't run away," Farah explained curtly. "I came here for answers. I need to get back to the Otherworld. But what are you two doing here, I told you not to follow me."
"We don't want to just abandon you in the city… it'll be easier to find someone if we work together, right?" Eiji offered. "We're trying our best, Farah."
"Yes, well your best clearly isn't doing much, now is it?" she snapped. When she was frustrated, it meant she lost her emotional regulation.
Aiki flinched and backed up a bit when Farah snapped, their eyes pricking with tears. Eiji growled softly and took a step forward, slightly in front of Aiki. "Hey, it isn't our fault that you're stuck here! It's that stupid fairy lady's, isn't it? So don't take it out on us when we're actually trying our best to help you! You might have to come to terms with the fact that it's going to be next to impossible to find someone with interdimensional powers on our end, so it's pretty much up to yours!"
Farah stepped back from Eiji. Her eyes narrowed, because it was either that or allow tears. "I can't stop looking. You have no idea what this is like." She gestured to herself. "Being from not only a completely different area, but a completely different dimension?! You have no idea what I'm going through. Aiki is the only one who might understand."
"I do understand, and we really are trying." Aiki insisted. "Like Eiji said, it's possible that there aren't people with that kind of power in our world. We're looking, our parents are looking, and we've come up with nothing. We can't find any trace of anyone like that other than liars who have been definitively discredited."
