(Hey!)
She tried to suppress the excited chuckle wanting to be let out, but failed.
She offered her hand, sobering. "Remind me of your name?"
Her voice had taken on a new quality nearing the palace, a sort of quiet yet authoritative confidence only emphasized by the echo of the domed entrance gates.
(Hey! Did you have fun!?)
He laughed a bit at her expression and ran his fingers through his grey hair, though looking white in the sunlight.
"I'm Canyon"
He says with a smile. He didn't have a last name to go by. Only his first. Only the royals could have last names. That was the way it was. Though he hated it.
"I'm Iris."
She led the man, Canyon, forwards, and with a cough from her the enormous wrought gates started to open.
"Woah, number one, that's a really pretty name! And number two….howd you do that!!??"
He says looking at the gates then back at her with wide eyes.
"I'd rather not say," Iris said after a pause. She walked in, waiting for Canyon to follow before getting the doors to close again.
(tell me if you find her too op, btw, and I'll adjust!)
(Okay. I'm sure shes not. And wings aren't all my character has, so…yeah that's a thing)
"Oh okay…sorry"
He says following her still in awe of just the huge gates that stood in front of them.
They walked out into a vast entrance hall, of marble walls and cherry oak floor. A circular raised platform in the center of the room held a veiled sculpture whose shape couldn't be told beneath the thick white cloth.
Iris walked forward, her mildly heeled boots echoing against the domed glass ceiling.
Canyon looked around in awe of the huge building. The structuring itself was absolutely gorgeous to him in every possible way.
"Oh wowww," he says to himself as his eyes beamed at the marvelousness all around him.
(It's totally fine! Take your time <3)
She distractedly led him up the grand stairs, barely paying attention to the luxurious surroundings.
The top of the stairs split off into three hallways, and they walked into the one to the left.
"ooh, so where are we going now?" He says with a big smile on his face.
He wasnt even paying attention to where he was stepping. He was just following her wherever she led him.
"It's a surprise," she muttered with a small smile. They walked into a slightly darker corridor, the walls blanketed in portraits of people. As they reached the end of it, Iris's own came into view.
She grimaced, walking past it without stopping.
"Woah! Is that you!" He says with almost excitement in his voice.
"Goodness! she's beautiful!"
He mumbles to himself as they walk down the hall. He hated to admit, but he was scared of the dark. And almost all spooky things. So walking down this creepy hall….
Well he had to distract himself somehow right?
Iris grinned freely, facing away from Canyon. She kicked the floor lightly and her whole body lit up with a soft white glow, illuminating the area around them.
"We're heading to where I spend most of my time," she told him finally. "There may be a few people already, but it's okay, they won't mind."
His eyes lit up in awe of his surroundings. He looked back at her when she spoke, a smile appearing on his face.
"Wait really? I get to meet more people? They won't like…kill me right?"
He asks her nervously after trying to contain his excitement.
She suppressed a smile. "No promises."
They arrived in front of a smaller pair of doors, this time in brute oak.
She turned her head back slightly as she grabbed the handles. "Ready?"
