He stared at the two adults shorter then him.
He walked inside the house staring them down, almost threatening them to try something while he's here.
He grabbed Kieras hand and pulled her with him towards the stairs and away from the snobby jerks.
Ki followed him, "Quite the family I have." She smiled him. "Anyways heres my room. Nothing special." Kiera looked at him, "Nothing is going to change between us. I promise." She told him, her voice soft. She sat on her bed, "Are you okay? You want to talk about anything?" She asked.
He exhaled when they got into her room, he was getting close to actually breathing normally.
He looked at her, staring in her beautiful eyes again.
"Honestly? Im never okay, But i have lived with the never okay for so long its just normal to me." He sighed,
"I saw you smoking at the party, wanna spill what that's about?" he raised a brow.
Downstairs the news played, "Police found teenager Jen (last name) dead at a party this very night, they say she died of an overdose of drugs while at the party she was in the back and had a syringe type gun used to distribute it next to the body with no fingerprints registered." Then they showed a picture of dustin on screen, but in a different hair style and outfit, but his expression was the same. "Police think it may mafia DoC leader from the description some witnesses from the party gave."
She gave a nervous smile, "Old habit. Back when I was 14 I told you I got messed up in the wrong crowd. Drugs, drinking, excessive partying. I stopped smoking after…things happened. To be honest I wasn't feeling good today. Not like myself. So I smoked a bit. Got high. and left." Ki told him half of the story, not ready for the other half of what happened that year. "Looks like the station is now looking at you. They may ask me to sell you out. I wont though." She told him.
He listened to her talk, staring at her with soft eyes.
"Dont not do it at the exspense of your job, I know you like your job." He stares at her, face now more serious then before.
He sighed as the Tv continued to jabber on. "I knew I should have worn the disguise, but I was torn up over you, and I got distracted." He muttered.
"I'm not going to sell you out. And thats final." She told him, "You'll be fine, they can't actually prove anything right now. Plus i can give them a different lead." Kiera liked dustin too much to sell him out. "I'm sorry, I put you in a terrible place and I shouldn't have."
He put a hand to her cheek, carressing. "Its okay, remember what i said at the park?" He smiled just a little bit at her.
a weight lifted off of him.
She leaned her head into his hand. "I know. I just worry about you Dustin. I actually really like you and I don't want to loose you." She leaned to give him a hug, "I dont want to loose you. Your my only friend or whatever we call this." Ki didn't let go of the hug, she wanted it to last a while. "OH! I forgot to tell you, I bought a bird. Hes not here yet but he'll start living with me in two days." She smiled up at him, a random burst of energy surging through her.
"You don't need to worry about me so much. I can handle myself just fine Ki." He hugged her back,
"I won't leave you and you won't loose me." He spoke softly. He smiled just little bit at her mention of a bird.
"Your aunt and uncle won't yell at you for it?" He raised a brow.
"They don't even know about him." She giggled, "See I told you I wasn't a goody two shoes." Kiera leaned into the hug, enjoying the contact. "You're cozy again." Ki looked at him "Was that a smile I saw?"
"Well I figured you weren't a goody two shoes a while back." He chuckled a little bit.
"Nope.' he looked away from her, hiding the half smile.
"Yes it was!" She grabbed his face and made him look at her. "You sure smile a lot around me." She cuddled up next to him, "You should stay." She whispered.
"Darn you caught me." He half smirked at her, "maybe you make me just a tiny bit happy."
He blushed just a tad as she cuddled up next to him.
"maybe I will."
(waiting for the aunt and uncle to recognize his face and call the police or confront them.)
(Dang you read my mind, I was just about to have one of them come in the room while on the phone with 911)
Ki smiled at him, "You know, you really do make me happy." As soon as she finished the sentence her aunt Lucy came into the room, on the phone. "Yes. I have a positive ID on him. He looks exactly as the picture in the news." shit… Ki thought. Kiera glared at her aunt, "Your doing the wrong thing Lucy Benson." She hated her aunt and uncle now. "Hang up now. Hes safe. Well Im safe. Not so sure about you and Harry." Kiera threatened her aunt. "Hang up before things get bad Lucy. Wouldn't want your only niece being ripped out of your custody would you?" Ki rolled her eyes, "Listen to me Dus, go back to base. I'll text you later, oh and stay near the bushes or the fences. They dont search well."
He frowned when her aunt came in seemingly on the phone with the police.
"Well Crap." He muttered slowly standing up not wanting to let go of Ki again. He chided himself internally before letting go and staring down the women.
he took the phone and crushed it in his hands dropping it to the floor.
"please stay safe Ki." He gave her one last look before turning and leaving out the window.
He made sure to follow her advice.
for a little while.
Ki yelled at her aunt, "DO YOU NOT REALIZE THAT NONE OF US WERE IN DANGER? THAT YOU ARE SLOWLY RUINING MY LIFE YET AGAIN? I LOST MY PARENT AND HAVE TO DEAL WITH YOU AS A PARENT. I'VE LOST TOO MUCH IN MY LIFE. I CAN'T AFFORD TO LOOSE DUSTIN EITHER! NOW GET OUT!" Ki pushed her aunt out of her room and slammed the door. "I've already lost three people that I loved. I cant loose a fourth one now." She muttered. She crawled on her bed, already missing Dustin's warmth. 'Sorry about that. Wish you could've stayed longer. Already miss you.' Kiera texted dustin, and then began to read. One of the things that helped her deal with her aunt and uncle.
Dustin used the back alleys to get back to base hearing the text notification.
Sorry about that. Wish you could've stayed longer. Already miss you.' He smiled at that, warming his chest.
'Its fine, It was nice while it lasted. miss you too Police there yet?'
"* yeah. Hopefully the trail will die and you and I can hang out again.' She smiled at her phone. Next thing she knew were the officers knocking on her bedroom door. "Yeah, come in." Ki answered, hiding her phone under neath her book. Two officers entered and asked her basic questions. Thankfully Ki had cleaned up any trace of Dustin before the police arrived. She answered no to all their questions and said that her aunt was sleep walking again. They left her room and ki got out her phone, 'just covered for you. They shouldn't be on you but tell your guys to lay low for a bit.*'
'mm yes that would be prefered.' he set his phone down for a bit, alerting his guys about what had just happened.
He noticed her newest text. 'just covered for you. They shouldn't be on you but tell your guys to lay low for a bit.'
'Nice. Thanks.' it was short but he didn't really know what else to say.
There wasn't really much too say.
Ki nodded at his new text, 'I'm going to chill out. Might sack out so good night if I do.' To be honest Ki had grown tired but she didnt want to sleep. More than anything she missed Dustin's warmth. Kiera put her phone down and shut her eye. You should sleep, it was a rough day. she thought. She began to fall asleep, and soon enough she was out, still in her sweater and black leggings, and sprawled out on top of her blanket.
He rubbed his tired eyes, the screen glaring at him as he shut it off.
he yawned, no paperwork.
He could finally sleep.
he stood up and walked into his bedroom, collapsing onto his bed.
i hope ki has a good sleep was his last thought before sleeping.
