He enjoyed flirting, enjoyed knowing that his looks were such that it was easy to do so, easy to get another person to come back with him for a night, no strings attached, no angry breakups the next day. Protection was always worn, so as to prevent pregnancies or STD's from being spread, and it was a good time. Kinks could be discussed or just normal, vanilla sex. He enjoyed it, even if sometimes he ached for a relationship and someone to hold him at night. Someone he loved. Someone to wake up to in the morning, soft and sleepy and whisper an "I love you". Make breakfast together, tease and laugh and love. But he didn't need that. He just ached for it sometimes.

Finn took another moment, enjoying the cool air before heading back in. He half wanted to just go back to his motel room and sulk, but he didn’t want to let that bastard ruin his evening. Besides, it’s be good to know if Waylen was going home alone or not. There was no chance in hell that Finn was going back to the motel after him if he knew what was going on in the room next to him. So he made his way back into the bar, sitting a bit further away and ordering something a bit stronger this time around.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Waylen took no notice of Finn's reentry, sitting down on one of the barstools and looking up at the person he was talking to. This other man was taller than Waylen, though not quite as tall as Finn was, and built like a bear. Big, broad shouldered, with a beard and thick, strong arms, he looked like he could probably break Waylen over his knee, and Waylen wasn't even that small. Sure, Waylen was only 5'6", but he wasn't fragile looking, not normally, but next to this bear of a man, he certainly looked beakable.

Finn huffed softly. He was sure he could absolutely ruin any chances Waylen had of getting lucky, though he didn’t want to do anything drastic. He took a sip of his drink, keeping it in hand as he shifted to a closer seat. “If you’re seriously trying to get that guy, it better not be happening at the motel.” He spoke quietly enough that he was relatively sure the man next to Waylen hadn’t heard him, though he didn’t care much either way.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Waylen glanced back at Finn, narrowing his eyes. "And why not? I've paid for my room, I can do whatever I like in it. Not like I'd be bringing him to yours." he raised his eyebrows faintly, then turned back to the man beside him, laughing a little at something he had said. The other man's voice was a deep, bassy rumble.

Finn rolled his eyes with a faint scowl, taking another sip of his drink. “I’d like to be able to sleep without having to hear you getting railed in the next room over. Go to his place or something, horny bastard.”

@ElderGod-Icefire

Waylen broke off his conversation with an irritated sigh. "Look, fuck off." he snapped. "My sex life and how I choose to do things is none of your business. Stop at Walgreens and get some ear plugs, if it bothers you. Turn on some music. I don't fucking care. Just because you're my ex and I sheltered in your room during the storm doesn't give you any say over what I choose to do. If I want to get railed in a motel room, that's my business, not yours."

“Oh my god.” Finn turned to him reluctantly, staring him down. “Why can’t you just be decent for once in your life? I don’t care what you do, if you want to go around whoring yourself off to sleazy bar patrons for a fuck that’s going to be mediocre at best, be my guest. Just do it somewhere I don’t have to put up with. It’s not difficult.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Waylen glared at him. "I'm not in the same room as you. Get ear plugs. Listen to music. I'll turn some on myself anyway, probably. I paid for the motel room and I have every right to use it as I see fit. It's not illegal to have sex in a motel, you know, even if people are next to you."

“Yeah, whatever. Just don’t be surprised if I start banging on the wall and screaming back at you.” Finn chuckled at his own remark, taking another sip of his drink. Maybe it was the whole situation and how strangely frustrated he was, or that it was getting late and he was drinking a bit more, but either way, he was strangely irritatable at the moment.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Waylen snorted, turning back to his partner with a soft apology as they resumed their conversation. Waylen had a type, to be sure, and that type seemed to be tall and broad. Or at least tall. He liked people bigger than him, liked it when his partner could break him over their knee without breaking a sweat. This partner fit that type perfectly.

Finn nearly laughed out loud at the facade that this asshole was putting up just to get laid. With nothing more than a small scoff, he shifted away from the pair and settled himself into the corner of the bar to finish his drink. And if he stood up a bit taller than he usually might’ve as he walked across the room, then… well. Nobody needed to know that, really. Over in the corner of the bar, he could see almost the entire place. It was the opportune seat for people-watching and drinking away everything else for the night.

@ElderGod-Icefire

It wasn't really a facade. Sure, Waylen was abrasive, but he also was just an asshole to Finn pretty much no matter what. He was perfectly capable of being kind to other people. Or at least polite, at the very least. He kept up his easy flirting with his partner, smiling and laughing and soft little touches back and forth, eyes and expressions hinting at more.

He observed the crowd easily from his spot in the corner, his gaze flicking from the TV above the bar back to the drunken dance floor. Finishing his drink and ordering a refill, Finn unbuttoned his shirt a few holes to fight the warmth of the bar. Frankly, he’d much rather be outside somewhere cool, but it was more entertaining in here, so he settled for the heat. It was easy to fight at least, spreading himself out a bit and pushing his hair back off his forehead as he took his newly refilled drink. The cool condensation on the glass was quite pleasant as well.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Waylen shifted in his seat, gaze falling on Finn for a moment. His eyes flicked over his ex, before returning to the person he was in conversation, leaning towards the other man and doing his best not to look over at Finn again. It wasn't as if he was interested in Finn at all. Not in years, not like that. It didn't matter.

Finn tugged out his phone after a moment, flicking through the news as he sipped on his drink, increasingly grateful for the ice. It was almost surprising how warm it was inside considering it had to be remarkably chilly at this time of the year, this late at night. He supposed dozens of sweaty bodies crammed into one small building could do that, though. His phone was slipped back into his pocket as he returned to his people-watching. A woman in the opposite corner appeared to have fallen asleep, he noted with a small smile of amusement.

@ElderGod-Icefire

Waylen and his partner eventually got up and headed towards the door, after paying. They were still talking and laughing, and Waylen appeared to be at least a little bit tipsy, keeping a hand on the larger man's arm to try and keep his balance. That, of course, could have just been an act, but then again, it might not be.

Finn noticed the pair leave out of the corner of his eye, a sick pit forming in his stomach. It really shouldn’t have aggravated him as much as it did. He didn’t care. He really didn’t. He just had to keep his mind off what they’d be doing, and he’d be fine. Why did this bother him so much? He huffed lightly at himself, running a hand through his hair once again when it fell forward into his face. Part of him wanted to say something, anything, really. But it wasn’t his place, so he shut up and just kept internally yelling at himself for everything he’d done wrong.

@ElderGod-Icefire

They made it back to the motel in pretty good time. Thankfully, the door worked this time, and the pair got inside easily. Waylen put on some music– an aptly named playlist titled "music to get railed to" –before they got to work, stripping each other's clothes and stumbling into the bed, Waylen's frame dwarfed by the taller, broader, and slightly older man.

(uhhhhh timeskip?)

(yeaaah, that’d be a bit uncomfy)
(alrighty then, back to the brainstorming. i suck ass at coming up with good times to jump to tbh, but i’ll definitely do some thinking as well if you don’t have anything in mind akdkzkkd)

@ElderGod-Icefire

(sghdbjfgb maybe the next morning they run into each other outside and Finn's still pissed that he came bcak to the sound of Waylen getting railed in the room next door?? idk)

Finn was so tired. Slightly hungover from the night before and still mildly annoyed at the noises he’d come back to, he just wanted a somewhat decent cup of coffee and maybe a bagel before he went to do his laundry. But of course, he couldn’t get anything his way. He’d just left his room, locking it behind him before he turned to lay eyes on the asshole in front of him. He half-considered just booking it down the stairs, but he’d already seen him. With a heavy sigh, he reluctantly started up a conversation. If it could be called that, really. “…So. Were those five seconds he lasted worth it?”
