Nathaniel walked in with Ilya and looked around, staying close to the fairy. He really wasn't sure what to do in here.
Ilya grabbed his hand gently, leading him to the back of the store where a light blue man with hair that appeared to be made out of fog sat, scribbling something into a journal. He looked up as the two approached, face breaking into a wide smile. "Ilya! It's been far too long, what brings you here today?" he paused, noticing Nathaniel. "Ah, I see! What's your name and how many pieces will you need?"
"I-I'm Nathaniel, and I have no clue… Ilya brought me here because I have wings, and stuff…" Nathaniel still seemed to be a bit tense, but he would be as compliant as possible.
Ilya squeezed his hand comfortingly. "We'll need a basic wardrobe for him, at least one of everything. And feel free to include over-sized. You know where to bill it?" The man nodded, jotting more down in his journal before he shut it with a dull snap.
"Right this way, Lina will be with you shortly." He led them to a small dressing room, leaving once Nathaniel seemed situated.
Nathaniel sat down in the dressing room, waiting for this new person to arrive. "What're they going to do to me, Ilya?" He asked quietly.
"They're going to get some measurements- waist, wings, legs, and arms if I remember correctly- and then You can pick out a few must haves for your wardrobe and we can leave." Ilya sat down beside him. "I'll be in here the whole time if you need me, okay? It shouldn't take long at all."
"Okay…" Nathaniel leaned against Ilya until Lina showed up. He tried to pull himself to his feet, but had to stop because of his ribs. "S-Sorry, ma'am… I'm a little injured right now…" With Ilya's help, he managed to get to his feet.
Ilya rubbed comforting circles into his back as Lina, a round faced girl with what appeared to be goat legs, nodded, pulling out a tape measure. "Please, call me Lina. We can take your measurements sitting down if you'd like, Sir. You needn't strain yourself."
"No, I'm already up… it's fine." Nathaniel pulled off his shirt, figuring Lina would need him to for measurements.
Lina nodded, stepping a little closer and carefully wrapping the measure around his waist and pulling it taut. She seemed surprised at the number it returned, but didn't comment. "Turn around please."
Nathaniel turned around, holding his breath whenever Lina was around his chest or waist. Luckily, she was pretty gentle with him. The bandages were pretty obvious, anyway.
Lina hummed quietly as she worked, moving from his waist to his wings. She sucked in a small breath when she saw them, but continued to work quietly. Soon she had moved onto his legs and then, after a few more minutes of quiet, she rolled up the measure. "You're all done, Sir." She turned to Ilya. "Moloch will be back in a few minutes."
"Thanks…" Nathaniel sat back down once she left and pulled the shirt on. "I hope my wings didn't make her too uncomfortable…"
"She wasn't uncomfortable, Nathaniel. Just empathetic. Lina's got a big heart, she hates to see anyone in pain." Ilya smiled softly at him. "Oh! It would be nice if you could pick a style for Molly to shape your wardrobe around, do you have any idea of what that might be?"
(Molly is a nickname for Moloch, the blue guy)
(Alrighty)
"Uh… just comfortable stuff is fine. I don't know much about fashion, so you're welcome to make suggestions… you're likely at least a bit more experienced than I am."
Ilya smiled softly. "A bit, but these are going to be your clothes. I want you to make the decisions for them, not me."
"But I really have no clue what I'm doing. Do you have any suggestions, at least?" Nathaniel looked up at Ilya hopefully.
Ilya laughed, nodding slowly. "You want something comfortable, right? There's a lot different things that branch off of that, but you probably want stuff that's easier to move in and relatively simple. That narrows us down to a few distinct styles: sportswear, pastel, and cozy casual. Do any of those sound good to you?"
"Uh… I don't really do sports, so I guess the last two are good?" Nathaniel shrugged. "Everything I wear is quite old, and I cut the holes for my wings myself. It's… not the best quality."
"Well, we're about to change that. I think you'll be most comfortable in casual clothes, pastel can be… a lot. Do you want to talk to Molly when he gets here, or should I?"
"I'll let you do that, but if you need me to jump in with information, I can." Nathaniel saw Molly coming out of the corner of his eye.
Ilya nodded as Molly opened the curtain and stepped inside. He looked at Ilya expectantly. "Nathaniel's not settled on any one style, but he'd prefer more utilitarian items. Soft fabrics preferably, built for comfort, and… Honey, what kind of colors do you want?" Molly looked up at Nathaniel, head tilted slightly to the side. His pencil tapped against the open pages of the journal.
"Colors? Uh… just natural colors are probably fine. White, black, gray, burgundy, you know… you're the expert, so whatever is good in your mind is probably just fine." Nathaniel fidgeted with his shirt.
Moloch nodded, writing down the information. "I'll keep that in mind, thank you. Do you have any preference about fabric? We have a large variety of knits, flannels, silks, anything you'd like, really."
Nathaniel laughed quietly. "I'm sorry, sir, I really don't know much of anything about fabric."
