Nathaniel snuggles into Ember, sniffling and feeling at his blood soaked suit. “Okay..” He mumbled. “I suppose we’re safe. We’re in my room after all. But I still feel bad.”

Ember smiled softly and held him still "yes we are, dear I love you every much I hope you know that."

Nathaniel gave Ember a long kiss. How did he deserve such a nice wife? He has done so much wrong in his life, it seemed he should have been alone for eternity. “I know you do. I love you so much too. I don’t deserve you..” He paused. “Did you catch what I was talking about when I told you not to drink alcohol..?”

Ember kissed him back softly and nuzzled against him "you di deserve me dear I promise the life that you've lived…you deserve to be happy." She went quiet for a moment " i…I think so,"

Nathaniel laid his head against her neck. “Are you certain? Many people would say I don’t deserve happiness…because I’m the devil you know. But I love you so much.” He ran his fingers through her hair. “You think so?”

Ember smiled softly and nodded "yes I'm sure dear." She held him close and closed her eyes "I'm pregnant aren't i." What she asked wasn't really a question it was more like a statement she knew what the answer was

Nathaniel moved his hand to her cheek. “Thank you.” It always surprised him how tight she could hold onto him. “Lilith thinks so. She’s almost certain..but I don’t want to really think about it until symptoms arise. I’ve ready been stressed and panicked lately.” He sighed, trying to keep it together for Ember.

Ember nodded and somehow held him tighter "that's….kind of scary Nathaniel." She spoke calmly and quietly even though her heart was beating a mile a minute

Nathaniel kissed her neck. “I know it’s very scary. I’ve been panicked ever since Lilith told me.. I don’t know what to do.. I mean we’ve talk about this, yes.. but suddenly everything you’ve talked about poofs into a bunch of doubts. I-I.” He was yapping a mile a minute. He started to panic about this news. He wasn’t sure how Ember would react..she want to be a parent.. right?

Ember leaned into the kiss she sighed "i-i just I'm ready but at the same time I'm not, I just I can't believe I could be pregnant already, baby please calm down it's okay we will be okay. "

Nathaniel gave out a frustrated whine. "Lilith has the type of ability to know if someone is pregnant after conception. She’s just— like that. So most of the time… she's not wrong. But I didn't want to say anything since it's only been a few days." He took a deep breath. "Are you sure it'll be okay?"

Ember stroked Nathaniels back gently and laughed a little "well that's pretty handy I would say I don't exactly think of it as a bad thing dear, it's going to be just fine."

Nathaniel snuggled into his wife. He was very temped to wrap a wing around her and protected her endlessly, but decided against it. "You don't..? You really think it's going to be alright? After the disaster of a party? I would need to babyproof this whole place! That's not easy when everything is pointy.." And he was back to fretting.

Ember nodded with a little smile "yes dear as I've said if anyone poses a threat we will kill it, and as far as the pointy things go we can keep them away from thoes."

Nathaniel furrowed his brow. “Aren’t you panicked?? Because I am! I’m not dad material yes! I need like— what do dads on earth have?” He didn’t sit on it too long. “And pointy things do need to be babyproof. Any thing that is any part demon is trouble as a baby and toddler.”

Ember couldn't hear but laugh "dear I am panicked just not as panicked as you are " She kissed him softly and held his face carefully "dear when the child is a baby and a toddler we will keep them near us at all times."

“Then why the hell am I so panicked?” Nathaniel wasn’t expecting an answer from her, just a pure question of why. He didn’t understand himself. Maybe the fear he’d be a horrible father. “Well, yes, but kids can slip away from you. Well, maybe not a baby, but a toddler. They’re masterminds at escape!”

"It's normal for a father dear there's nothing wrong with it I promise." She nuzzled into his lap and smiled at him sweetly giggling a little I doubt they will be able to run anywhere quickly my love."

“Are you sure? I’m not sure. I mean..don’t first time moms panic more than their husbands?” Nathaniel sat up in bed, stroking Ember’s head gently. “I guess you’re right.. I have guard everywhere and my eyes and ears are open 24/7.”

"I mean they do most times but 'animals ' not so much I guess ." She laughed and little and looked up at him "it'll be just fine dear "

Nathaniel’s brow furrowed. “Sweetheart, what are you talking about? You are not an animal. You are a person. A very beautiful person.” He brushed his thumb across her cheek, cuddling her. “I hope so.” He started to fall asleep, but tried to fight it.

"Well I mean I kinda am..it's better than calling myself a monster…" She nuzzled into her and closed her eyes wrapping her arms around him

Nathaniel took a deep breath. “No dear, you're neither. You're perfect the way you are. I am the monster.” He yawned, closing his eyes and falling asleep against Ember.

Embers eyes shot open and she looked up at him you are not a monster. " She snapped before realizing that he was asleep
