Intense worldbuilding.
Intense worldbuilding.
Maybe I'm just Soft, but couples having cute nicknames for each other makes me swoon.
Especially if they're, like, unconventional ones.
A moment of silence as I realize that none of my couples do that.
(I feel that. I just can't come up with anything that sounds natural enough.)
I have a girl called Firefly by her bf.
(The closest I've come is that the Bassen Bar Buddies have nicknames for each other, but not in a romantic sense. Half of them just refer to Darlene as Darling.)
Can we get more of the chubby muffin character trope?
You know, characters with larger body types that are just super soff lovable beans who put others before themselves and make you want to protec them
I love those characters so much-
(Bonus points if they're still able to stand up for themselves in certain situations despite their kind soffness)
I have a couple of those. I'm all for chubby characters of all personality types though, so naturally I ended up with a couple of chubby characters whom we must protec at all costs.
I have one that sort of fits. Kalansi. She's Arrena, Tano, and Veralithsi's mother.
I try to have some chubby (and/or muscular) characters as well, some of which must be protected at all costs, and others that do the protecting.
(Why something else in the STEM? Why the art? And why is there need for rep there?)
Because many women are sidelined out of science/mathematics/etc.-related fields and pushed towards the liberal arts. I don't know why the A is in there, but I'm talking about STEM right now.

I like the idea of this trope, but I feel like it's feeding on stereotypes. Just because someone's chubby doesn't mean they're softhearted. I'd love to see more tough/fighter-y personalities.
Cough Henry cough
Characters that make up their own sayings. You know, ridiculous ones like "well stick me in a pool and call me a dead slug" or "well I'll be an elephants butt" or something. I'm bad at it
Rereading the chat and I remembered that I gave this trait to Louis lol. He says a lot of pretentious saying that almost or barely make sense, a la Pistol.
I'd like to see more LGBTQIA+ rep, specifically nonbinary, genderfluid, aro and/or ace spectrum, agender, poly, and pan.
There's a wonderful book with genderfluid rep called "Symptoms of Being Human" by Jeff Garvin. We need more books like it
I’m thinking of adding a poly relationship to my story actually. So that’s fun.
Question. Is there actually lack of gay etc. rep these days?
Good gay rep, yeah. Also there are so many identities that are ignored.
So what is bad about the gay rep now and what would make it better?
Token gay, stereotypes (slutty bi, sassy gay friend, etc), also gay friend groups are a thing. LGBT+ folk flock together, and not even necessarily on purpose. Ignoring asexuality or treating it as being broken or innocent. Big reveal that a character is trans. Also when straight people try too hard to write about lgbt issues and ultimately don’t get it. That’s where casual rep is better. That’s only a little.
I agree.
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley! It's one of my favorites!
Oh goodness! I'm not the ONLY one that's read that? I don't know anybody that's read it! Literally having a heart attack.
My favorite classic, however, does go on for pages and pages on what the protag is feeling, but that's because the protag is very self-centered and he focuses mainly on himself, which leads to him misinterpeting things. Which leads to his wife being murdered and his eventual death.
That sounds like a delightful read. :) What's the book?
