If the Chosen One is the villain, or somehow the Chooser of the Chosen One is wrong, or if there any other such twist, I am totally cool with the Chosen One. A Chosen One story that's played straight and traditional has grown a bit stale for me. I don't think the trope is completely terrible, but it could use some freshening up once in a while.

@croccin-champagne

i read one once where the 'chosen one' had a twin who was her second in command and by the prophecy her protector, but then there was this plot twist where the 'chosen' had been lying to protect her twin, the actual chosen one and it sounds really confusing the way im telling it but it was nice

Am I the only one who swears they target a specific type of character? I have a type when it comes to favorites, and they're usually the ones to get killed, whether their character arc is finished or not. I think for me it's a matter of who they kill, not that characters get killed.

Yep…..unless it's Rogue One where everyone dies, period.

How do I upload photos to Notebook?

Find an image, preferably from Google images. Left click it and select "Copy image". Go to the little typing bar at the bottom of the forum, left click that, and select "Paste image".
You can also just highlight the desired image and do the old "ctrl+c" and "ctrl+v" trick.

I'D KILL FOR A BOOK WITH AN ABUSIVE RELATIONSHIP THAT IS ACKNOWLEDGED AS ABUSIVE AND DECONSTRUCTED!

I'm referring to movies, but this may apply to books also. I do not like scenarios where the main protagonist has to kidnap and escort their love interest and are rewarded for being total dicks to them!

Do tell more.

Alright, guys, this'll be kinda long.
In the third book for my main series, one of the mcs is possessed by the main villian, Sycore. (the reason why is really complex because this is me writing this series XD) Halfway through the possession period, the MC, Tom, is so deep in Sycore's head that he can see his memories and his backstory.

Basically, Sycore's like 8-13,000 years old. He had a girlfriend before he was trapped in a relic.

Her name is Hicia. She was a provincial heir, rich, intelligent and posh. Sycore was a child forged by neglect, abuse, and the coldness of life. By fate they met and fell in love.
And when Sy gained power over her, he manipulated her. It started small, but when he gained possession of the relic that trapped him, an amulet that gives the user powers in exchange for their soul when they pass, it got progressively worse.
He became a raider of their village and the surrounding ones. He killed people for the pure euphoria of it. Yada yada, fantasy horror things.
She begged him to stop and gained possession of the second amulet. (there are three because my world is… complex as fuck) He tortured her and killed her, but not before she gave him a fight, enough to make him die of severe blood loss after.

It's excessive, but it's supposed to be an eye opener to the signs of emotional and mental abuse. That if they use you, run.
