At her whimper, he pulled back with a frown. "Sorry… I forgot." Brad whispered weakly, cupping her cheeks. "I just got too excited, I haven't had a decent hug in forever."
At her whimper, he pulled back with a frown. "Sorry… I forgot." Brad whispered weakly, cupping her cheeks. "I just got too excited, I haven't had a decent hug in forever."
She smiled " I know I really am sorry " she apologized
(Sorry… I've been on a mental block)
"Please don't apologize… I'm sorry I gave your engagement ring to your sister. I'm sorry I didn't stay an extra day or so. I'm sorry we took your car and left you… I'm sorry-" Brad continued to ramble, tears pricking at his eyes as he did. After everything that had happened, he had been a wreck for weeks. And now that he was getting it all off his chest, it was flooding out with tears.
"hey" she cupped his cheek " it's not your fault your not supposed to apologize Brad you did absolutely nothing Wrong" she said
"I've got to have done something. Something wrong, I mean." Brad whispered, swallowing down the lump growing in his throat. "I mean, why else were you even in the hospital? I didn't stop the cop from hurting you, I knew it could have been fatal to your health. And well, I didn't do a thing about it."
"No you did nothing Wrong I shouldn't have gotten so ticked off at him I messed up . . .like always" she said
"Stop, you didn't know what would happen. You were already under a lot of pressure, with your sister and everything." Brad insisted, pulling her along back over to the table. "So don't blame yourself. If you insist it's not my fault, then it's Thomas's. He didn't come back like you asked him to, and went off on his own without telling you."
She sighed and kissed him before putting her head in his chest
Sitting down on the edge of the table, he silently stroked her hair with a frown. "I'm just so set on having it be my fault. We wouldn't be in this mess if I hadn't gone. Thomas would have never ditched you."
" it's not your fault you just wanted to protect me"
"If that was true, I would have stayed in the restaurant. I really did want to protect you, I just did an incredibly lousy job at it." Brad muttered, his whole body finally seeming to relax while he held on to her. He couldn't stop soft tears from sliding down his cheeks though, he felt too weak to bother.
She shook her head "it doesn't matter I'm here right now with you in my room" she said
"I guess…" He whispered, glancing at her ring still on his finger. "Oh, speaking of your room, this is yours." Brad whispered once more, pulling the ring off the tip of his finger to slide on hers. "I can fix anything that I messed up, if you ask."
She shook her head and looked at the ring on her finger "how long.have you been in here and how long.have you been wearing that ring?" She asked
"Not long, actually. I was getting frustrated with people, so Collins told me to go cool off. I came in here only ten minutes before you got here." Brad shrugged slightly, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek. "But I've come in here before."
"that's what I meant why are you in here of all places" she asked out of curiosity
"Because I found it a little while ago. I realized it was your room, and just found it comforting. Oddly enough." Brad mumbled, rocking back and forth with her in his arms.
She stood up walking to the other side of the desk she pulled open a drawer pulling out a key she opened the drawer under it which was always locked and inside pictures of Brad pictures of them together the letters from valentine's day drawings of him poems she wrote about him and things he'd given her
He watched her walk over there in silence, really wanting to be holding her again. Wiping his tears away, he didn't follow after her when she was over there. "Whatcha doing baby-doll?" He asked softly, leaning back in his place on the table. Brad didn't want to crowd her, so he gave her the space she needed.
She took a few steps back and gestured for him to look in the drawer
Pushing up off the table now, Brad came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist and rested his chin on her shoulder. "What is it?" He asked softly, taking the time to look in the drawer without touching.
"look" was all she said opening the drawer so it showed everything
"I still don't-" Pausing, he pulled away from her to sift through the drawer with a confused look on his face. He pulled out a picture of the both of them, still seeming lost. "….understand? What is all of this?"
" this is my favorite thing Brad this your drawer it has pictures items letters poems" she said smiling softly
