Okay, just before you read this, I'm not trying to be rude or anything. Just explaining stuff.
There is no religion, at least that I know of, that states being straight is an abomination. There is no such thing, as 'coming out' as straight. If you are straight, you rarely have reason to hide. The word 'straight' is not tossed around as an insult. It's not something people will single you out for, disown their child for, break relationships for. Do you realize, that at the end of every almost every LGBTQ+ parade, there are at least a couple of protesters screaming about the sins and wrongness of having a sexuality that's different from the norm?
It's pride month. People are celebrating part of their identity, not only accepting others but also themselves. The parade represents the community and their pride of it. Because there are many people out there who spit upon such. A pride parade probably would not be as common, nor necessary, if people weren't shunned and taught that not being straight was a sin.
Of course, you have a point. You're allowed to state your opinion. It's not illegal to proudly say you're straight. But people aren't bullying you for your sexuality, are they? The parade represents and symbolizes an idea of acceptance, that is needed for the community.

i also wanna add that 'straight pride' is just a thinly veiled cover for homophobia and also the same ppl behind it are also part of white supremacist circles. there may be nothing wrong with being straight, but there's no reason to have a parade for it because it was never taken away from you

@Simon-Says

(Ok but straight people have had rights since they have existed. Gay people have had rights for like less than 50 years. It's sort of about the struggle.)

@Trix

Okay don't get me wrong here I agree with everything that ya'll said here, but… I know people who actually use 'straight' as an insult. One of my best friends has another group of friends at this LGBTQ+ hangout she goes to, and they basicly think that someone who is straight is an awful jerk even though they have never met them. Both they and my friend (when she was mad at me) have called me and other people 'heterojävel' (only good translation I can find is 'hetero-devil') even though they didn't even know me or the people they said it to. I had done nothing to insult any of them and neither had the others. And about religion? I'm religious and I support LGBTQ+. It isn't and shouldn't be seen as impossible.

@Shuri-the-Floof-Doggo

Yo no matter what it's not good to hate or discriminate upon people for things they can't control, or the way they were born. It's unacceptable and while I will respect people with more logical opinions on the matter, I refuse to accept blind hate or prejudice.
(This isn't targeted at anyone in particular.)

Gay pride parades- I am cool with them, do I support being gay? No. It goes against my religion. Do I support the people? Yes! I don’t believe in it. Not a problem. Gay pride parades? Go ahead. We had one. I say one straight pride parade. Is that this a bad thing I ask you? No. It got a HUGE crowd of protestors. If being gay and having a parade about it is normal, can’t straight pride parades be normal too? Is it illegal to proudly say you are straight? I want to know the problem with this!?!

This is like asking why there’s no White Panther Movie. LGBT+ was suppressed for hundreds of years. People were killed for it. You can be proud to be straight but you don’t need a parade because people already support you.

Btw: I’m not questioning your religion but you know that cutting your hair and wearing mixed fabrics are equally sinful to homosexuality? The Bible doesn’t even say anything about homosexuality; The passage that is quoted was a mistranslation and the correct meaning is “no man shall lie in bed with a boy.” It was against pedophilia not homosexuality. No hate I’m literally just curious as you if you’re aware.

Okay, I'm just going to say something that I've always thought and that's that I think that being gay is wrong BUT gay people are still people and deserve the same opportunities as the rest of us and to discriminate against them and treat them as less than others is just as wrong. The people that use religion as an excuse to blatantly hate on gay people need to reexamine their religious texts and remember that they're in no place to judge. The LGBT people that use other people's religions to blatantly hate on straight religious people need to realize that they're being hypocrites. Hating on other people isn't going to get you anything. The small part of LGBT people that do this are setting everything back for their whole community. No one wants to be nice and respect the people that are rude to them. (Before anyone gets mad, yes, I have met people like this.) And the same goes for straight people that hate on LGBT "because of their religion". They make it worse for the human race in general. Just stop and let everyone be. Make sense?
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. I don't mean to offend anyone
