and the newer fantasy one, Onyx and Ivory

Oh my god someone else has read it!

YES. I've only read the first one, tho, not the sequel

I kinda liked the first one slightly better, but the sequel was still really good. Tbh I'm just glad I've finally found someone else who's at least read the first book because it was one of my favourite reads of last year but it's so underrated.

My library didn't have the sequel :( same tho, I loved it

So far I've only read The Giver.

YES AGREE

The Outsiders

Reading that for school right now

I read it three different times; once for a book report, and twice for two different English classes (Jr. High and later in High School).

The Colorado Kid ~Stephen King

Never heard of it, but Stephen King is fantastic

This was the first book by him that I read. I've read Carrie, Salem's Lot, Under the Dome, Cujo, and Revival since then. I've started, but have yet to finish Duma Key, The Tommyknockers, The Talisman, and some of his short stories.

@murphysgirl

Right so I'm assuming nobody has read Chronicles of Prydain, but whatever.
And Westing Game is REALLY GOOD. Definitely one of my favourite books.

Other favourite underrated books of mine:
The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau (who wrote sequels and FRIKEN RUINED THE SERIES)
I Am Princess X by Cherie Priest
Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan
The Underneath by Kathi Appelt
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
The Andromeda Strain by Michael Chrichton

@murphysgirl

Yes. Minya. Chubby little annoying brat who somehow friken captures your heart and holds it hostage.
Also Lazlo and Sarai are FRIKEN ADORABLE.
And worldbuilding? AHHHHHHHHH I'M SO JEALOUS HOW DID SHE DO THAT

Deleted user

Okay so I have no idea what is happening with that book BUT I HEARD GRAVEYARD BOOK AND THAT BOOK IS MY SHIT!

@murphysgirl

TBH I was too frustrated/depressed at the ending of Strange that I refused to read any more but I've been thinking about it recently. Unfortunately, the friken libraries are closed.

@murphysgirl

And Graveyard Book is awesome. Silas is so awesome. And so is Liza. And so is the Sleer. Gahhhh I just love that book so much… Neil Gaiman holds a very special, somewhat padded-cell, place in my heart. <3

Neil Gaiman is another author I've started following pretty closely. I just adore horror and death books. My favorite collection of short stories is Monster Girls and Slasher Boys (or is it the other way around…?). If y'all need random history facts about death (especially"vampires" like lemme know)

The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau (who wrote sequels and FRIKEN RUINED THE SERIES)

I read the whole series when I was younger (except for the newest one, but I think that’s a bunch of novellas) and I actually thought they were pretty good.
