Will follow.
Idk if Les Miz counts.
It most definitely does. Plenty of people know the musical far less know of the book, and even fewer have read the book.
May I add The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale the queen? And Princess Academy by her, as well.
I love those! Shannon Hale is one of the greatest Authors of our time.
Yes, thank you! Someone else who’s read them. I have literally read The Goose Girl so many times and will read it more, I’m sure.
The Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. Absolutely underrated.
So a small list
The whole entire Fairyland Series
Esperanza Rising by Pam Munõz Ryan
The Floods (oh my gods what a good series of books)
It's Bud Not Buddy- I don't remember the author
Terry Practhett in general is a Fabulous adult writer because his books are good ass fantasy.
And oh so many more. Under The Green Hill? OH MY GODS!
Oh, we can submit more than one. Then I have a list, too. Some of them are kind of complex to understand, but amazing nonetheless. Not in order, so I'm going to give them a rating:
The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant by Drew Hayes
The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau
Curse the Day by Annabel Chase. I've only read the first one, but it was really good
The Reformed Vampire Society(I think that was the name)
Withering By Sea and then the Sequeal to it,Wormwood Mire(haven't read the rest)
Actually anything by the lady who wrote the Fairyland series. I've been following her pretty closely and she never fails to amaze me.
DOES ANYONE KNOW THE Smells Like Dog series because I read the shit outta that!
And The Candy Makers??? I haven't read it in forever but it was SUCH a good read. The Early like 2010's had a lot of good YA books if ya ask me.
I loved The Candymakers. Actually, I loved everything by Wendy Mass (yes I still have many books from that point in my life and no I'm not sorry. They beef up my book collection). I think I'm too old for her books now, but I was obsessed with everything she wrote when I was in middle school-ish. I can't remember exactly.
NO! ONE IS NEVER TO OLD FOR BOOKS! I read YA and even sometimes an occasional Captain Underpants or Magic Treehouse. For the nostalgia mostly but nonetheless. Pick one up and get lost in the pages one more. They miss soft hands and bright eyes, laughter or a fallen face as something horrid happens between it's pages. Go on.
Sorry I don't know what got into me. Another great writer is the guy who made The Wonderful Invention of Hugo Cabret? He also did the book Wonderstruck. And The Marvel's. Brian Selznick is his name. He does a lot of smaller books but those…those are golden stories those are pieces of art.
90% of what I read is YA, but I've outgrown middle grade books like the stuff I read in elementary school/sixth grade. I'd definitely reread stuff for nostalgia, but I don't reach for new stuff.
A Wizard of Earthsea.
NO! ONE IS NEVER TO OLD FOR BOOKS!
*Good Books
Ooh, I have Damsel in my reading list!
No longer Human
Can I just say.
THE CHRONICLES OF PRYDAIN
I feel like there's more, but that's just off the top of my head
I super regret not picking up The Lost Causes of Bleak Creek before quarantine, I had it in my hands and then was like "I can probably pick it up later this week". And then the library closed.
