I don’t really go on this chat but I really want to say something here.

Yeah I think that 2021 global recession might come a little bit earlier. Things go up and down all the time; we’ve been awaiting a recession for a few years now.

The schools at my province just got shut down for the next two weeks (technically 3, because March break is next week) because of the virus. Younger people have been found to not express symptoms in the same way an adult does. Just in case someone lives with their grandparents, who are more susceptible to sicknesses, or younger children, or people with messed up immune systems.

It took the SARS (a similar virus) 8 months to reach 8000 people infected. It also killed around 774 people.

It took COVID-19 3-4 months to reach that amount. If a cure or vaccine isn’t made, imagine how many will be infected in 8 months.
COVID-19 was able to kill nearly 3 times more people than SARS in the span of eight weeks.

Both SARS and COVID-19 are related to each other. They’re both coronaviruses.

And to add into that, SARS was different because people generally believed things a bit more, they washed their hands when they were told to. People with COVID-19 now; they’re not really doing the same things with SARS, even though they’re told pretty much everywhere to wash their hands, self isolate if you show symptoms.

And with viruses, viruses have a nature to rapidly mutate. Those mutations could be good or bad for the virus itself. Those mutations could help it infect more people. Those mutations could lead to the ability in order to spread through more different species. Although most of the time you shouldn’t worry if it mutates during outbreaks like these, given most of the mutations will be negative for the virus itself. still, you should always be aware of the virus itself.

@jantz

the media is just blowing the coronavirus out of proportion. it's just a mild flu with no vaccine yet

So I heard a Law that’s going to Congress about the government being able to listen to your private conversations (on tech. not when talking) and so

Does anyone think this is real? And if so is it a bad idea?

  1. I wouldn't be surprised if it's real. I mean, they already do it anyway.
  2. Yes, that's a terrible thing.

It’s not real, first of all, because that’s a breach of your fourth amendment rights.

This is a debate though. Grab some evidence, Mir. Back up your claim and prove that you're right.

It’s not fucking common because it was a federal fucking case and it went to the Supreme Court. It ISN’T common, and it WOULDN’T happen.
