I have too much rose quartz
How do I clean crystals? Not cleanse them, just get the dirt off. A lot of mine are super dirty and I can't identify them with them caked in dirt. I'm guessing they can all go in water because they all came from either caves with lots of water or one of those places where you order them to pan, and I've tried scrubbing them and stuff but it's not working??
Have you tried letting them sit in dish soap? I don't work with crystals but that's how I clean rocks. Sanding them lightly might work too.
Goin to Walmart to see if I can find some subtle witchy stuff. I want some candles that aren't in jars and I definitely need a new lighter, I also wanna see if they have any statues I can put on my alter. And I also need pop tarts and a new sketchbook but that's not a witch thing
i really like those ones that go in candle holders! i like to put them in wine glasses as decoration. i have a vanilla scented one sitting on a bunch of agates in a wine glass and its so cool.
i feel like thats one of those things you could really easily pass off as like 'pinterest inspired decoration' to unsupportive parents, too. cause it looks cool but its useful to you.
No statues but I found some pillar candles for the God and Goddess so I'm hella excited. I'm honestly kind of scared of the ones that have to go in holders because they're Tall and I didn't want to spend money on holders anyway also the only color they had was pink
And I got a lighter that FOLDS. Hopefully I won't break this one
Putting them in wine glasses is such a good idea, I need to remember that for when I move out
I have a question for pagans who do deity work or know more about it than me: so I see a lot of stuff that's like "your deities don't want to sleep with you! If they do, they're probably not who they say they are" which is all well and good, a good point, please share that, but in most mythos mainly the Greek pantheon is what I'm thinking of because that's the one I know the most about, gods did sleep with mortals, so what's that about? Was that just in stories and not actually true or is it just different now?
Personally I think it’s just a lot different now. I believe that the way the gods work and behave has sort of adapted to the era we live in

The 3 Pagans and a Cat podcast did an episode on this recently. I don't agree with everything they say and some of the stuff they talked about grosses me right the fuck out, but it was still… educational I guess, definitely on topic. I think they episode was called relationships with divinity.
I just had like an hour long divination session and I'm very happy with it. I learned shit about things and whatnot. Also I'm getting a lot better at using Ogham? Overall I'm progressing in my path, it's very pogchamp.

Oooh, I'll listen to that when I can
There's so much random shit on my altar. I have half my crystals, a fairy snow globe, a fairy statue, my candles, a dead lilac that I have yet to bury, a safety pin for some reason, a mushroom man statue I made, a marble, a metal frog, some small skunk and deer statues, and I'm gonna put an elephant snow globe on it and a penguin one and some flowers I got today. It's so chaotically peaceful and I love it
Turns out doing an hour of divination and then trying to do more is not a good idea
^A mood
I desperately want to design my own tarot deck but I'm not in a creative mood and it's very frustrating
Instead of being "brothers and sisters in Christ amen ✝️🙌🙏😇✝️" (not that there's anything wrong with that and you can be a Christian witch that's cool 👍)are we chaotic siblings in magic? What's our band name if you get what I mean.

Practicing witchcraft is just being in the Order of The Funky Science
Everyone talks about the importance of ancestor veneration and I get it, without them I wouldn't be here and they're my connection to my heritage. But people are always like "we honor our loved ones for their lives well lived, their joys and struggles and hardships and we thank them for it."
Ok but like
What if they were shit people 😐
And I've never met them, they're not my "loved ones."
I also don't know their joys or struggles, besides the typical immigration stuff.
Witchy teachers online say ancestor veneration and having an alter for them is a foundational practice, and you need that connection to connect with your practice (especially if it's cultural, which mine is). Does anyone here do ancestor veneration? Cuz I'm straight up confused. How do you honor your ancestors when you don't know them, and maybe even don't like them for valid reasons? Like how do you know they deserve it I guess???
I also know that sometimes ancestor veneration doesn't have to include literal bloodline ancestors, it could be a sort of spiritual relation or a dead person with a mutual interest/culture as you, but I guess my confusion lies in the literal family stuff. Thoughts? Tips?
