Dang it! People throw around words and people either get hurt or hide because they are afraid the masses will come after them!

For good reason, too. You say the wrong thing online, you run the risk of the media completely destroying you.

  1. Who would be forcing you to do something?
  2. He didn't win the popular vote, if I remember correctly
  3. Again, who would be forcing you to do something?

  1. Like don't force me to support it, or destroy me because I don't.
  2. The Electoral College?
  3. Meh.
  4. Do whatever you want, so long as it doesn't hurt someone.
  5. I don't care what you do as long as it doesn't hurt someone else.
  6. Why it should even matter.

Underage drinking can hurt a lot of people. It's a bigger problem than it seems, at least to me.
I recently heard somebody say that the Me Too movement is actually strengthening the patriarchy
You should look up men's complaints on the shaving commercial

Soapgate?

I probably don't, but I do…

Okay so……
You know Sarah J. Maas?
She writes 'YA' books, and there's this company that does what's called Boyfriend Book Boxes. They did a box for one of her series, and the box included self-insert fanfiction, which opened the question of 'when (if ever) is it okay to sell fanfic?'. It also raised the question of sexual content in YA books, and how much is okay and where the line is drawn, along with oversexualization of teenage characters.

There was also the actual soap dick, but I think that might be crossing a line and there's children here

I think over-sexualization of anybody under the age of 18 isn't ever okay in any form of media. Teens have sex drives, and that's fine, but nobody should ever be allowed to exploit that for a profit unless its main focus is about a teen navigating their own feelings, which can be educational for people in that age group.
Also did she actually sell self-insert fanfiction? Like she didn't write it herself? Also wtf?

I agree!
It's not okay, and it's honestly disgusting that adults are profiting off of writing scenes with teenagers doing it.

No, Maas didn't write the fanfic, others did and the company put it in the box. Idk if Maas knew about the box or not though.

@HighPockets group

please PM me and tell me what the soap dick is, I can't look it up

It was a dick-shaped soap. I'm not kidding, I couldn't make this shit up if I tried. If you have YouTube, Read With Cindy did a good video discussing DickSoapGate

I don't have access to youtube but that sounds… actually fucking hilarious I'm sorry but why is there a soap dick, what's the context behind that

Yeah it makes me feel violated just thinking about adults writing about teens doing that stuff
I'm a teen and I don't write about teens like that, I have it saved for adults (I have a book where the main character is 17, but all sexual content is lightly implied with him)

Because of all of the sexy times in the books and how the ''''males''''' in them are on like every book boyfriend list. I think I've already ranted to you about my personal issues with the series though in another chat.

I have stuff like violence and swearing in my books because of the nature of a war story, but I don't write sexy times because I'm ace, it makes me uncomfortable, and I don't find them necessary.
