lol hey guys!
lol hey guys!
I Have finished age of ultron and currently watching ragnarok. MY COUSINS DIDN'T TAKE ME TO WATCH INFINITY!!!!!!!!!
Well that's prolly a good thing
I've been watching these movies since Iron Man first came out
I'm trying to decide what mythologies to focus on :P Probably European and some Greek (Thanks PJO)
That's a good start.
AND NORSE
Ah yes, Norse too.
OH YES.
This is frustrating cus like, European myths are the norm in fantasy, and I don't want to that, but I don't know anything else. Ugh.
Mix greek and norse mythology
My story is soooo boring right now that the reader is going to fall asleep on the 5th page.
Okay, that works. I'll probably be referencing other cultures' mythologies anyway. Thanks!
Girl, it's okay. You've stared at those words hundreds of times, so you're going to think it's boring.
all that happened so far is that Alex got to her room………………………… I'll post up a sample.
The girl walked into the room. She had long, wavy black hair with radiant blue tips at the ends, pale blue eyes that were as electrifying as lightening, her skin is pale, but not too pale, and she looked around 14.
I am Alexina Gillings. She said to herself quietly.
Alexina or otherwise known as Alex had lived a horrible life, a life no child should have ever lived. At the age of birth, her parents gave her away and she was sent into a abusive family by foster care. After her parents gave her away, there was said to be a huge fire at the house and that they died in it.By the age of 7, she ran away from that family, but was caught by the system. Ever since, she had been running from every foster home, some stays lasting longer than others. Everytime, the system caught her.
Water trickled down the side of her face as she studied herself in the mirror.
I am Alexina Gillings and I will not lie. She reminded herself once again, you could hear the hollowness in her voice. Many times she had ran and with that many times she had lied. She lied to the point where she didn’t know who she was anymore, that she was someone else. Those lies tore her down and shredded her to pieces. The girl she once was, was dead. Only a shadow remained. She gave herself one last look in the mirror before she turned around and started walking away. That was until something caught her eye at the edge of her vision. It looked like there was a ripple in the mirror, like it was made of liquid. She looked over bewildered.
Gods, I’m hallucinating now. She thought to herself.
“Alex, get your butt down these stairs this minute” A high-pitched shrill called up from upstairs. In annoyance, she sighed and rolled her eyes. She grudgingly got out of her room and walked down the stairs. Waiting at the bottom was a slim, but grim women.
“About time? Your new family will be here any minute!” She exasperated.
Charlette Smith was her name. She use to be a successful business women which explained her grim appearance. Her husband had died in a plane crash and she quit her job and worked at foster care homes for reasons even Alex didn’t know. A few rooms away, her friend Zoe Melana was listening to their conversation. She was around the same age as Alex, but she had shoulder-length dirty hair that was usually put up in a ponytail with a braid trailing on the side.
Once Charlette was done fussing over Alex, Alex crossed over into the room where Zoe was waiting.
“Well at least we’re going together.” She said quietly.
“Yeah, I don’t know what I would do without you either.” She answered back and squeezed Alex’s hand for comfort. Alex smiled a little. Zoe was one of the only people she could only try to be herself. Than voices filled the silent air.
“Gosh, I can’t wait to meet them.”
“Calm down mom, they probably don’t to meet their new mom over-ridded.”
A couple of two walked into the room followed by a boy, who Alex assumed was their son. Mrs.Smith crossed over to greet them.
“This is Mrs and Mr Holland with their son Chris.” She introduced the family.
They looked friendly enough and they looked very excited and hyper, except for the boy Chris. He had short brown messy hair, sun-kissed skin, he looked serious and stern. He was also slim, however he was muscular and carried an aura of confidence. Zoe gave them a friendly wave and Alex just sat there not knowing what to do. Mrs.Smith paid no attention to them as she talked with the adults.
“Now before you take the girls home, I need you to fill out some paperwork. If you can just follow me into the back room, while the girls still need to pack their stuff.” She instructed before walking away with the grown-ups in tow. Alex gave Zoe a look before swiftly running upstairs to get her things. Her room was located on the other side of the house. It was a small room and it was plain. There was a lamp that hung from the ceiling, an old nightstand that has stood in that little corner for many years with another lamp on top. Her bed was sitting next to the window, but besides that her room was mostly barren. She bent over and grabbed her backpack that was hidden under her bed which wasn’t the best hiding spot. It contained some of her electronic and things that were personal to her. She slung the backpack over her shoulder and stroll downstairs. Like her, Zoe hardly had anything herself except the contains in her bag. Just on time, they had just finished signing all the papers and Chris sat on the couch. Alex could hardly tell what he was thinking about since his face showed no emotion.
It was all a daze for Alex as they all got in the car. Thoughts swirled around in her mind as she looked out the window. What was the ripple in the mirror? Will it happen again? How long will I have to stay? She questioned herself.
“So Alex, have you ever traveled much?”
That question snapped her out of her thoughts.
“ Well, not really, I mostly stick the area although it’s rare I’d ever made it out of the state.” Alex thought out her words before speaking them.
She was glad that she was finally out of the state, but it was home. What was hours, seemed liked minutes to Alex before the car pulled into the driveway.
“Home sweet home, Wyoming!” Mr. Holland exclaimed and stretched his body outside the car. This surprised Alex very much, Wyoming! How long has this drive been!? She thought to herself. Wyoming seemed long ways off of Washington, it made her homesick a bit. She looked around the house. There was a huge tree in the front yard, the house itself was white and grand with a little garage next to it. Alex could make out what would be a forest behind the house. Well this is going to be great! Alex grabbed her backpack and stepped up to the front porch where Mrs. Holland swung the door open. Alex walked into the house and saw how nice it was on the inside. Alex had been in nice houses before, but this was one of the best. Alex decided to take a look upstairs to see where her room would be. There were many rooms upstairs and Alex thought she would already be lost in the house.
“Need help?” A low, gruff voice asked from behind.
Alex spun around in alarm and saw that it was Chris and the closeness of his presence made her a bit nervous.
“Um yeaahh.” She replied slowly.
“Sorry, everyone seems to think I’m creepy and weird so why not show you you’re room.” He apologized and directed her to her room, running his fingers through his hair. Alex looked puzzled and obeyed as she followed him to her room. It was a bit larger than the room she was use to having at the foster home. There was a big bed on the edge of the wall, a fuzzy carpet lying on the floor along with a plan desk, nightstand, and a closet. She dropped her backpack onto the bed.
“Well thanks, I can handle it from here.” She said and started unpacking things from her backpack.
“Well the stairs are to your left if you need anything.” He replied before leaving the room. Alex dropped her bag onto the bed and started unpacking.
That's good! I think you can do it!
Hey, that's not bad! The only thing is I'd change 'At the age of birth' to 'When she was born'.
Maybe reword 'Mr. Holland exclaimed and stretched his body outside the car' cus I totally read that the wrong way at first.
I think I should say Matt is the brother, but he had to go somewhere so Chris went with the parents to help them get settle in because I feel like shipping both of them?
Yeah why not, todays a great day to be depressed
Is Chris not the brother? Who is Chris to the Hollands?
Here ya go.
The evening sun lowered towards the horizon, casting long shadows throughout the thick forest. Patches of gold lay on the leaf covered ground. A dirty blonde walked alone in the forest, the terrain crackling under his feet.
He hadn’t been in this part of the forest in a very long time. The memories echoed throughout his head, each more painful than the next. He blocked them out and advanced through the forest.
He almost stumbled over some briars. It was a miracle that he didn’t die the last time he was here. He chuckled. The trees thinned out into a meadow with the giant oak in the centre. This was a sight so familiar, he could still see the figure in white coming out from behind the tree. Three other people sat around the tree, waiting for him. Hunter waved at him from where he sat.
“Hey,” James greeted, “Where’s Audra?”
Hunter shrugged. “I dunno. Should be here soon, don’t get all upset.”
Bryan ran over to James, itterrupping he and Hunter’s conversation. “Hey bro! Howsit?”
“Just fine,” He replied, glancing at Bryan’s sister sitting alone. “How ‘bout you?”
“Robert’s being weird, as always. I got a new game, i don’t know if you have it yet.”
James laughed. “I probably do. Is it fun?” I couldn’t play it though if i did have it, i can’t afford to have expensive bills. He thought silently.
Hunter had walked over to his girlfriend and sat down with her, picking at the grass. James had made sure to always keep an eye on her, he didn’t trust her and never will.
Footsteps could be heard from the forest. Audra ran into the meadow.
“Sorry guys,” She panted. “Tom wouldn’t shut up about Layers of Tempest.”
Hunter got up, Ember following him. “So, I asked for a gathering here to address a major issue, our powers and the Amulets.”
James’ squinted. “What about it? You’re being too formal dude.”
Hunter rolled his eyes. “Obviously, the Amulets are a curse as we’ve all seen from this past month. I believe, or think,” He nodded to James. “That we should get rid of them.”
Ember spoke up. “I agree. If we die we’ll be trapped as the next Keepers’, or the Amulets may take our souls alive. These are powerful artifacts we’re dealing with, we can’t risk it.” She looked at the ground.
“Welp, I can’t say anything about this, I don’t have one.” Bryan stated. “I’m normal and relatable!”
James shrugged, “This is between you three.”
“Audra?” Hunter asked.
She played around with the silver ring on her finger. “Fine.” She grumbled.
Ember took off the necklace that had laid on her neck and sat it on the base of the tree. Hunter followed suit with his bracelet. Audra hesitated before placing her ring down.
The Amulets disappeared into the tree. Audra had regret all over her face.
“Now, the elemental powers.” Hunter started. “I-”
Audra interrupted him. “What? You just made me get rid of my Amulet, i’m not giving up my Elemental powers!”
Hunter raised an eyebrow. “I didn’t make you do anything, you did that yourself. Anyway, can I not get interrupted?”
“Okay.” She mumbled, crossing her arms.
“So, as i was saying, I don’t think this is something we are meant to have. If it was, then wouldn’t everyone else have it? We might get the government on us, we almost did when Sycore attacked the school.”
Audra rolled her eyes. “The attack that you almost missed?”
“I was sick okay?”
“I agree once again with Hunter, it’d draw too much attention.” Ember added.
James thought for a while. He had more powers than all of them combined. Did he really want to keep it up? It was all that was keeping him from getting the authorities on him. He looked at his scars. Would it be a new beginning for him? A good choice? All this thinking really made him want an energy drink…
A stearn ‘No’ made him look up. Audra was glaring at Hunter. “I do not want to give it up.”
“How does it help you?” The words came from James mouth before he could react.
She looked confused. “Help me?”
“Yeah, I used my shapeshifting to pose as Lilac so i wont get in trouble for living alone underaged. How do you’re powers help you?”
“I don’t- know?” She asked.
“Well, i’m of age now so it shouldn’t be a problem. I’d need alot of excuses for why Lilac’s gone but i think i can pull it off.” He decided. It wasn’t an easy one, doubt still clogged his mind. “I agree with Hunter.”
“Fine.” She grumbled again. He felt satisfaction in knowing he changed her mind.
“So uh,” Bryan butted in. “how are you going to get rid of them?”
“Good question,” Hunter pondered.
Ember shifted on her feet. “I think I know how…” She walked a few paces away from the group and held out her hands. Her face looked anxious as she stood there her palms facing outwards. Her facial expression softened, and she looked relaxed.
Red and orange light came from her hands and flowed into the air. The magic swirled in the air as it left her hands, it had worked.
“Wow,” Bryan gasped.
The magic floated to the top of the tree and a portion of it set on fire.
“Ember! You set the tree on fire!” Audra yelled.
“What?” Ember asked frantically, opening her eyes.
Hunter spoke up. “Wait, it’s not burning! I think it worked.”
Ember lifted her palms again and relaxed herself. No more magic came out. She tried to summon a ball of fire, nothing happened.
“How did you do that?” Hunter asked.
Ember looked proud. “I just relaxed myself and imagined all the power leaving my body, simple really.”
“Simple?” James questioned.
Hunter ignored him. “I’ll go next.” He held his palms up and relaxed himself. Brown magic came from his hands in a similar manner, flowing to another portion of the tree. It stopped abruptly and he opened his eyes. “Woah that felt weird…” He commented as he sat down against the tree with fire and rocks on top of it.
“You can go first Audra.” James told her.
She grumbled something unintelligible as she walked past him, her choppy black hair swinging behind her. She stood with the same pose as Ember and Hunter had, just more rigid. It took her longer for her to relax. Soon enough, blue magic was flowing from her hands. Clouds formed on top of the tree in another portion.
Now it was his turn. His heart raced. Was this the right thing to do? What if he got caught?
He took a deep breath and held his hands out palms up. He relaxed himself, imagining the magic flowing out of his body.
Nothing happened.
He tried again, willing it further.
Nothing.
A memory flashed in his mind. He remembered the woman who appeared to him in this very meadow, his rage as she insulted him, the bloody arrow that’d been embedded in his sister’s body being thrusted at her, blood spilling on the ground around her body, the magic that came from her body and surrounded him.
He knew what he had to do.
With shaking hands he reached down into his pocket. Ignoring everyone’s questions, he pulled out his pocket knife, the very same one that made the scars on his wrists. If he kept his powers the world would collapse. Something this powerful is not meant for humanity. He could kill somebody like he did and tried to when he was fifteen. He couldn’t trust himself, no matter how much he lied. He couldn’t become a monster again.
Hunter would have to find a new best friend, he’s good at that. Audra can find someone else to love, he didn’t matter. He had no family anyway, they’re all dead.
He brought the knife to his throat and stabbed himself. Blood ran down his neck and caught in his shirt. He fell to the ground and Audra ran to him.
“James! Why! Why you idiot?” She cried. He noticed how beautiful she looked when she cried. Her black hair fell around her usually pale face. Her face was red and bright, and he saw the emotion she really hid.
He struggled to breathe.
Hunter stood a few feet away in shock. Tears sprung from his eyes as he watched. Bryan covered his mouth with his hand. Ember held onto Hunter, trying to support him. She glanced over again, and started sobbing.
He understood now. She never meant anything that had happened. She was crying because she believed she caused this. With the last of his energy he looked at his old enemy and smiled. A sweet smile. She looked him in the eyes. ‘I’m sorry.’ She mouthed out. ‘I’m so sorry!’
‘I forgive you.’ He mouthed back.
He looked at his girlfriend again. His vision went black. Audra was the last face he saw.
Audra cried in her dead boyfriend’s arms. Why had he done that? Why? She continued sobbing. She held onto his body as if it’d bring him back. A light appeared and started fading his body away. Magic flowed out of his body, all different colors, blue, grey, red, and brown.
“No! No! Don’t take him from me!” She screamed. Her arm passed through his body and he was gone.
The magic flew to the top of the tree adding to the fire, earth and sky. The fire burst up with a flare, the earth grew in size and the clouds multiplied and sparked with electricity.
A grey symbol appeared in the sky, a bird, a dog, and a cat in an emblem.
And the meadow warped away.
It was gone and with it, James.
Is Chris not the brother? Who is Chris to the Hollands?
Um he is the brother, but I kind of want to switch the roles.
Ok.
Hey thats sure to make your readers cry ( Take it as a compliment.)
