Anyone wanna start a fight in that case?
Yeah
Will you be offensive or defensive in this debate?
Furries: friend or shoot?
I'll shoot.
i'd rather not shoot just in case their creepy furry friends come after me, but I'm not gonna associate willingly.
I'm calling out Loch, I'm ready to fucking fight.
no @ Lex? ;D how will they know you wanna throw hands?
Oof
My position in the debate depends on the subject.

Are Santa's elves slaves?
They totally fucking are and I'll fight you
They are but for the reasons of debate I will say they aren't
They aren't paid last I checked, and they work all damn year in sweatshops making things for children who don't even stop to think about them. They're talked about like they're happy and love their jobs, but has anyone actually asked an elf what they feel? No. The answer is no.

And Elf on the Shelfs, who have to make risky journeys every night and risk being depowered by grabby children!

Santa keeps the elves in line by saying that if they don't do what he says, he'll send them to the grabbiest children on the list.
Oh my god, that legit sounds so- shudders
I think it's fairly obvious that they are
The elves get paid in the way of pride. They have spent all their year making toys for children. They give the children the happiness of getting the gifts. Sure the elves may not get paid in money, but is money actual money, it is unknown if they use actual money. Though what they do is volunteer work there is no evidence of them being forced to work.
And there's no evidence of it being optional. Why do we see child elves working? Why is there no obvious food, bathrooms, or water stations in these "workshops"? If this is volunteer work, they should have ready access to any of that. Even if it's a paid job(which it's not), they should have access. So why don't they?
Then how do you explained the exiled, the ones who lost their powers? If they weren't slaves, why wouldn't Santa send someone to pick them up?
frowns
From the evidence we have there is no visual evidence of food, bathrooms and water. They could be off set to be out of the way. Maybe food isn't allowed in the work shop. No proof or evidence that is substantial has been provided or highlighted on.
Maybe there are all these things, it just hasn’t been made obvious to us because who takes pictures of the toilet?

there is also no proof that there is, either.
Saying that something doesn’t exist because you don’t see it is a fallacy.
I'm saying that we can't assume it's there, because we have no proof or evidence that it could be.
