I play sports every once in a while, and I always wear limb weights. I'm also gonna get a training mask. I don't bicycle too much because running is better exercise, and I train my pressure points because, well, it's an advantage. I do some workouts that I would definitely not advise too, I must confess. I even do gymnastics occasionally even though I generally dislike it and I'm not very food at it. And I do functional training too!
@Masterkey @shurikenwolfbadass_13
I agree with you guys. I do running, weightlifting, and martial arts, but I don’t do them for the sake of working out. And Shuriken, I couldn’t have said it better myself. As far as working out goes, I strive to be stronger, faster, and be able to defend myself. I enjoy working out and especially with martial arts, I want to become better. I am serious about this stuff.
@Masterkey it's not working for me either, I dunno.
Have you guys tried typing it in quotation marks?
Still not working, that's so weird…
Since you both do martial arts… how would you advise a complete newbie young adult who never did martial arts but wants to learn?
Well, I only do Taijutsu. You should join a class if you can. When I first started I knew nothing. It just takes time and practice.
I can tell you, that in any martial art, being both bodily-kinesthetic, and spatial-visual intelligent, is a huge advantage, and in any martial art also, using leverage and momentum to maximize your strength, speed, and precision, is yet another thing to do. Also, study hard, work hard, eat well, practice intensely and often, and actually take the time to learn it, don't rush it.
I have no clue man, no clue. I want to learn something serious and useful, but also fun. Very vague, I know.
Yeah, I really like the aspect of hard work and dedication it takes to be good at martial arts. That attracts me to it as well.
I actually have developed my own unofficial martial art that I call Samado. Sama means lord in Japanese, and do measdns way.
Put it together and you get Lordway!
What Shuriken said. Also, I don’t know about other martial arts, but in Taijutsu you always have to be aware of your body position and what you are doing. There are things you do with your hands, but your footwork is just as important too and it is easy to forget that.
It's really complex and I am perfecting it as we speak.
That's it @MidnightWarrior13 what they're trying to get you to do is develope bodily-kinesthetic ability!
I can explain it to you if you like!
Shuriken, what martial arts do you do?
I already know what you are talking about. It’s really cool actually.
Boxing, wrestling, and a bit of Kung Fu, with some street-fighting tips I picked up along the way, and a bit of kick boxing. Nothing fancy, but again, I kind of have my Owen style.
So besides Kung Fu, you do westernized forms of martial arts.
