The band homies strive for best played music. We must unite and share our experiences.

So this would be like the 'better' band right? I'm asking because in my school we call the concert band the one with the weaker players while symphonic band has the best players and more challenging pieces.

? I’m confused but we see concert band as challenge music, our school usually allows people to switch from marching instruments as well. I just wanted to have a chat similar to the Marching Band chat. Since marching band is over for a lot of band buddies.

Also true, concert band sucks. We have some very painful songs. Rip flutes and trumpets. They sound like they’re suffering. Some notes I can’t be fast enough to switch so I stand there like an idiot and think, forget where I am and ask my stand partner where we are in the middle of playing.

It’s the whole band, we’re so big that we can’t all be excluded. Except for guard, some join the choir.

Yeah we have a big enough band that after marching season we split into two. Half go to concert, the band that gets to play Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen, and the other half go to symphonic. Or as I like to call it, play for your goddamn life.

For us, everyone in marching band has to be in sit down band, except guard. And we all audition at the end of the year to find out our seats for the next year. Apparently no one likes either band. we've had sectionals every two days since we got Christmas music and no one will let me lead even though I'm first chair……

But there are people in indoor band that aren't in marching band

I think they're just referring to any and all fancy sit-down bands (sometimes known as concert/curricular band).

Rip marching season but at least now I can actually focus on my main instrument.

I dunno. We have jazz, marching, concert, and symphonic band. With Symphonic being the highest… So I guess I'm in all of them???

So what do the rest of you guys play? I know emi plays flute (flute buds) and I think Kylee plays clarinet? No clue about the rest of you, though

I also play flute for band and piano for jazz

I play the murder instrument, flute. Mainly. I also do backup oboe. Or oboi as we call it. And ze piano.

I play the french horn

Yee so many flutes. I guess we're just the superior creative instrument

Today we were practicing something for concert season and there was a split in the parts. We have two rows of flutes, and there was a split in the music, so the second row was first and the first row played second (I’m in the second row).

Ok but with them it’s literally all the time and I’m so sick and tired of it

one of them during marching season was playing a piccolo, and when I was near them in the field show (I was mostly with the clarinets cus I was a point and number things)

I couldn’t hear her at all

anyway that’s my rant so

We got that too. Hate em. Most of them are gone now, but we have shudders nevermind
