It barely has any normal vocals, there is no complexity or layering or interesting instruments, just basically a beat, a repeated chord, and someone wailing into a mic, whose wail will then be autotuned to sound like an acceptable voice

I think most pop songs are stupid but there are those singers who can actually sing but these are rare
That's the thing, there are some talented pop singers, but you don't hear the talent because of the way the songs are written
Most lyrics are also terrible
Also, like, the music videos!
I. Can't. Look.
A lot of them are full of people dancing in provocative clothing and honestly I think it's dumb
Right, I mean take for example the Anaconda video. Is that absolutely necessary? Some are cool, like New rules, but even then.

#LinManuelHadSomeSickTalent
confession: I have never seen Hamilton or listened to it but I would love to

I mean for it to be a debate there has to be 2 sides… is there anyone who would like to argue in favor of pop music?
i mean pop music is okay, i guess. Not very deep.
Honestly, I've come to appreciate pop music more now that I've had the chance to sing some of it in an acapella group. The arrangements we get are interesting and fun to do, especially when they're mashed up with other songs that fit well. We did an arrangement of Devil You Know and Rolling in the Deep last year, and it was the one that everyone loved the most!
