"You should thank my terrible aim. Otherwise, I probably would have shot you." Damien joked, not entirely sure if Sebastian would get that he wasn't being serious.
"Anyway, I'm a little low on food. You wouldn't happen to have any on you, would you?"
Sebastian pondered this a little bit.
Well damn. I almost got shot in the face. I almost died.
He took about ten seconds to process Damien's question and respond to it.
"Not much, but I do have food. Hang on a minute."
Sebastian went to his bag and brought out a package of beef jerky. "This is all I have left, but you can have some."
Rune went to the back to see if she could find gasoline containers.
Damien shook his head. "Nah, you keep it. I was just…really hoping that I wouldn't have to leave to go get more food." He sighed dramatically, plopping down on his couch.
"I can always accompany you wherever you need to go and make sure you get back here safely," Sebastian offered, "It never hurts to have a big, strong man by your side, does it?"
Damien's face went red again. "Uh….yeah. I guess so…"
He was silent for a few seconds before grabbing his pistol off the ground. "Well, we might as well go now before it gets too dark."
"Yeah, okay," Sebastian agreed, "Let's do this."
He went back to pick up his bag and slung it over his shoulder.
Rune went outside to check all the cars. Maybe someone left the keys
He took a deep breath before opening the front door. Damien was surprised by how cold it was.
"Alright. Now I just have to remember where the closest store is…"
Sebastian shrugged.
"There weren't any the way I came from. I can tell you that much," he whispered.
He pulled on his hood.
Rune groaned. "Why aren't there any KEYS" she covered her mouth. "I can't let my frustration get the best of me, I need to stay quiet."
Damien pointed left towards the town center. "Let's go that way. There's bound to be some sort of food story closer into town."
He began walking down the sidewalk, looking around nervously for any signs of movement.
Sebastian kept a few paces behind Damien. He may not have been the brightest, but he was pretty strong and protective. Hopefully that would be enough here. He made sure to keep a close eye on his surroundings.
"Oh yeah, actually, I know the safest way out," he said, "Allow me."
"I have to try to open the cars somehow, maybe the gas station will have bobby pins or coathangers in the staff's lockers." Having a car was easier to get places and to escape hoards.
He nodded, letting Sebastian step ahead of him.
"Lead the way."
Sebastian took the same route out of the neighborhood that he had taken in, and they were out on the main street.
"Well, now we just need to find a store."
Damien pointed down the street at a gas station. "Well that gas station probably has food, but I doubt it's anything healthy."
He started towards the gas station anyway, looking back to make sure Sebastian was following.
Rune searched through the employee lockers. Shoes, uniform, uniform, uniform, wallet hair ties she frowned. Only 4 lockers left, I hope I can find something useful.
"Healthy doesn't matter. We just need to live, my guy," Sebastian said, following Damien.
He still kept a close eye on their surroundings, making sure no zombies had caught sight of them.
Rune opened the last locker. Uniform, shoes, BOBBY PINS Rune smiled on the inside as she grabbed the bag off bobby pins
"Well I'd rather be fit enough to run from zombies if I need to." Damien said as they arrived at the front of the gas station.
"Ideally… but it's better to have junk food than no food," Sebastian replied.
He went to open the convenience store's door. The little bell above the door rang out eerily.
She grabbed her shotgun as she crouched down
Damien was surprised that the gas station wasn't completely empty by now. He scrunched up his nose at the smell of the rotten bananas by the cash register. "It doesn't look like there's anyone here."
