He opened his eyes in a sleepy sliver, he took the bread with his left, unbroken arm to look at with confusion. He recognized water, of course. But as for bread, he set it back down. He didn't know what that was.

"Eat, you need energy. If you fall asleep now, you might not wake up again." Kai muttered and started wiping some blood
Sean began to shed sparse tears from pain, his jaw going tense. But he did as the stranger advised, and took a bite of the foreign food. More than anything, he felt like just upchucking everything and dying. The stranger seemed to have different plans, though.
X whined and moved closer to Sean. Kai looked up and smiles before looking back down and bandaging Sean's injuries "get a lot of injuries 'round here. Where are you from?" He asked
Sean didn't reply, but it seemed his focus was drawn away from his wounds at least.
"Are you mute?" Kai deadpanned, tieing off the last bandage.
He shook his head in a slow no, his dark, almost black irises fixated on the bandages.
"Did you have some water?" Kai asked, leaning against a hay bale
He nodded sparsely, taking another sip with his good arm. He had to set it down though, to sit up more.
"Would you like some help?" He asked
He nodded again, pushing his black hair out of his eyes.
Kai smiled and lifted the small cup to his chapped lips and waited for him to drink
Sean closed his eyes and drank. It looked funny, the way he drank, he drank like a dog, would, using his tongue to pull water in and not really sucking it in like a normal person would.
Kai looked at him weird but didn't say anything. Removing the bowl once he finished, he set it down and looked at him pointedly. "Why aren't you talking? Can you write?"
A stumped look flickered across his face. He decided to nod. He could draw.. maybe that would get his point across.
(May I stalk?)
(May I stalk?)
Go ahead!)
Kai nodded and produced paper and a pencil. Nodding at them, he waited for Sean to take them and explain his story.
He held the pencil in a closed fist. He was more familiar making art with his bare hands, but he did fine with the pencil. He drew himself, drawing the body with surprising accuracy– but left his face blank. He drew a tight scribble over his throat.
"You were choked?!" He asked, surprised at the drawing.
He flipped the paper over, drawing a long drape and feminine shoulders. A blank face like his own. He shaded in her exposed hands and face to a soft grey, and left clouds of scribble around her.
"Is this your mother?" Kai asked
He neither declined nor accepted. Sean traced a thumb across the outline of the woman's face.
"If not your mother then a relative of some sort." Kai said quietly, remembering his own birth mother
He turned the paper back over, he gave the drawing of himself a long, hard look. And he gave it to Kaius.
