Ellie gave an uncertain half-smile and gave Fay a quick hug. "I meant like medicine, but I suppose that counts."
Ellie gave an uncertain half-smile and gave Fay a quick hug. "I meant like medicine, but I suppose that counts."
"I don't need any meds, I'm fine." Fay took a breath. "I would like to go see Ren though." Fay was feeling a bit better, maybe she just needed some sleep. Letting go of Ellie she stood and started out the door. One of the nurses saw and ran after her, "Wait!" Grabbing the princess shoulder, she stopped her from walking. "You shouldn't be walking yet." Fay turned a glared at the girl. "I may do as I please." Slapping the nurses hand away she continued walking. "Ellie, do you know where he is staying?"
Ellie looked at her uncertainly. "Fay…" she sighed and rubbed her eyes. "Alright, follow me."
Fay followed. It was weird walking around these halls again. Nanee was washing the windows when she caught a glimpse of the princess and cover her face to hide it. Fay knew where face well and she knew she wouldn't want to see her. "I can't believe he stayed. What about Cas, is he still here?"
Ellie looked down. "Er… no. I'm sorry, his father took him out of the arrangement, I think," she informed Fay, biting her lip.
"That's okay, he wasn't that cool anyway." Fay put her cold exterior back on as she walked. Though Nanee tried her best to hide her face, Fay still saw her and gave her a look. "Wait!" Nanee quickly ran in front of Freya and get down on her hands and knees. "I'm sorry, I'm truly sorry. I'm trying to make up for it."
"Make up for it?" Fay could only laugh at that. "Isn't a little late for that? Now move." She hissed at the maid. All those stories used to be true, but Fay was a new person now. She had hardened her heart to things she didn't like, and now she wasn't afraid to say stand up for herself and punish those who have hurt her. "If you don't move, I'll move you myself." Nanee flinched and quickly got up. "At least let me go with you." Looking Fay in the eyes Nanee didn't back down. "No." A simple answer followed by a push to the side. Once Nanee was out of the way Fay continued down the hall.
Ellie blinked in confusion. "Fay… why are you mad at Nanee? She helped me earlier, and now she's doing my chores because I had to stay with you."
"Because, this maid stood there, while the queen beat me." After a few seconds Fay covered her mouth and stiffened up. Ellie didn't know about any of that. Well, she knows now. "It doesn't matter, I just don't like her." Nanee pleaded with her eyes, but Fay stood her ground. "Should I show Ellie what you let happen to me?" A sly grin appeared on her face as she looked down at Nanee. Nanee was just a little bit shorter than Fay. "She would clean the wounds then watch as the queen made more. Freya got more fed up the more she talked about it. "Move!" Nanee shook her head. "I would have been fired if I didn't." Fury built up in Fay's eyes. "Fired," she laughed, "fired she says." Fay lifted up her shirt revealing all her scars, from knives and whips. "I don't give a damn!" Freya moved forward and grabbed Nanee by her hair. "I said move." She pushed her and started walking again.
Ellie froze. She was having trouble seeing through tears. She quickly wiped her eyes and turned to Nanee, then back to Fay. "But… all you did was help," she said faintly, processing. She subconsciously pushed her sleeve down further to hide her own scars and stared at the wall for several moments. "Nanee, we should talk later," she eventually told the girl before rushing to catch up with Fay. "Fay! It's actually left at this hallway!" She called.
"Oh," Freya backtracked a little, and turned left. Nanee stood there with tears in her eyes. It's not like she wasn't expecting that, but it was still scary. The princess was scary. Wiping her tears she ran after them. Don't give up. She mentally pumped herself up and followed after them. If she was going to explain herself and apologize she might as well do it in front of all three of them. Ren is going to hate me after this. That's what made her the most sad.
Fay saw Ren's translator and walked right past him to the door. She knows led three times and waited for Ren to open it.
Edgar looked at the princess in astonishment, clearly unsure whether to be upset or just shocked.
Ren dragged himself up from his bed, letting out a yawn as he halfheartedly tried to straighten up his clothing when he walked to the door before opening it.
Ren stared at Freya in utter shock. Tears watered at his eyes as he whispered in disbelief, "Fr-Freya?" She looked so thin and in pain, Ren wanted nothing more than to hug her but he wasn't sure if she wanted that.
"Hey," She said with a little wave. Fay was unsure of what else to say, although she was happy to see him. Nanne peeked around the corner. She wasn't about to let the princess bully her, she wanted Fay to forgive her, even if that might be impossible. "How have you been?" She asked with a smile.
Ellie glanced out of the corner at Nanee and sighed. She walked over behind the wall where Nanee was and picked up a hair clip. "Listen, now is really not the time for you to be following her," she told the maid quietly.
“Missing you,” Ren told her with a smile coming onto his face. He stepped to the side of the door, “Would you like to come in and sit down?” Ren offered politely. He was just glad to have Freya back, to see and talk with her. Maybe he could sneak her away to the port again when she was feeling better, and they could escape this horrid place…
"I would love that. Come El-" When Day turned she saw the Ellie was down the hall. "Hold on." Striding over she could only guess who she was talking to. "Nanee, noce to see you again." Fay said with a threatening tone and grabbing her by the wrist. "Come, join us." Freya wanted both Ellie and Ren, to witness this. She dragged her back and entered the room. Nanee couldn't even look at Ren, she knew he and Ellke were never going to forgive her for this. Fay sat Nanee in a chair while she sat on the bed.
"Fay, sto - " Ellie began, but Fay was already down the hall. Dammit. She followed back to the room and stood just inside the doorway with her arms crossed.
Ren looked at her in confusion as she turned than came back with the maid from earlier. He stepped aside to let them all in, but had a sick feeling in his stomach for some reason. He peeked his head out the door to tell Edgar to not let anyone in before walking back into his room to sit on a lounging chair. "What's going on?" Ren asked, feeling like he was missing some key detail here.
"Since we are all here, Nanee how about you start." Fay used her hand to gesture towards Nanee. While Nanee sat there she searched her brain for something to say, although nothing was coming to mind. But all that came to mind was how these two wonderful people were now going to hate her. "Fine then." Fay reached to her back and began unbuttoning the top half of her dress. Was this something a princess should do no, but she wanted her to bestfriends to know what she had gone through. She slipped her arms through and laid the top of her dress on the bottom. She was thankful she was wearing something underneath, but this way you could see her cuts and scars more clearly. "How about now? Do you have anything to say?" Nanee still couldn't think of anything and just sat there.
Ren gasped. Freya, sweet sweet sweet Freya… Of all the people… “Fr-Freya… I…” He struggled for words, lifting a hand in the air but it just hovered between them. “Who did this?” Ren asked weakly, though he had a feeling he already knew the answer. But… could it have really been the queen? Would she truly go to those lengths?
"The queen." She said simply. There was no need to hide it or beat around the bush. Most people knew the queen hated Fay, but none would actually believe the queen it such horrible things, no matter how rude she was to everyone that worked here. Freya felt bad that she had to worry them so much and that she had been gone for so long. Fay reached out and placed her fingers with Ren's with a sad smile. It was obvious she wasn't fine, so she was done pretending. Nanee sat there her eyes towards the ground. One she felt bad and two, it hurt her to see Ren so hurt.
Ellie looked down, shaking slightly. She wasn't sure how much longer she could handle this. She wasn't surprised at all that the queen had done that, and it was already hard enough not to attack the woman every time she saw her.
“Freya, gosh…” Ren sneezed her hand, “Please, let me take you -and Ellie- to the port, we can- we can board a ship, and-and get to the Southern Isles, and you’ll be safe,” Ren said, his distress clear in his voice and he scrambled for a way to keep Freya safe and make sure the queen could never hurt her again.
Fay smiled but shook her head. Now that she had a goal to reach and achieve, she wasn't going anywhere. "I'm sorry, I can't. But, I would love for you to stay." The more allies she had, the better, plus Ren was a good friend and having him around would make things easier. "Anyway, I wanted to talk to you two." Fay had completely forgot Nanee was in the room. "Are you guys willing to help me?" (I probably won't be on till later tonight.)
"Fay - " Ellie rubbed her eyes exhaustedly. "It depends what we're helping you with, and really - " she sighed and looked down.
"Oh, you're tired. I'm sorry." Fay felt extremely bad. She has been dragging Ellie around and hasn't asked how she was doing. "Let's rest. We'll talk about this later." Fay led Ellie to the bed and laid her down. "I hope you don't mind Ren." It was his bed, but all Fay could think about in the moment was taking care of Ellie.
