Ren almost stumbled when Freya picked up her speed, but he quickly kept pace. He nodded as the princess spoke, listening intently. He didn’t want to know what the queen would do if she caught them out. “What might be worth it?” Ren asked, raising his eyebrows as he stared at the wall. He scanned for any easy way to get back up.
"Climbing the wall. I've never done it before but it might be the fastest way." Fay was grateful she wasn't in a dress. She grabbed one brick and began to climb. It was more difficult than she thought, but it was still the best idea. Looking down she saw Ren and smiled. "Are you coming?" It was just another adventure to her, and it was even more exciting to her since she has never done this before.
Ren’s eyes widened. “I….” He was torn. He wanted so badly just to smile and start trying to climb, to escape into Freya’s room before they were found out, but… “I can’t. Freya—I mean Princess Freya—if you fall- I can’t let that happen.” Ren bit his lip, but he didn’t want Freya to get caught… “Just- You go up first, okay? I can catch you if you fall, and once you get up I’ll climb up after you.”
Emerald smiled, probably one of the most genuine smiles she’s had in a while, “You don’t know how happy I am to hear that.” Her shoulders sagged, you could almost tell how hard she had been working since she’d left the palace. “I still can’t believe it…” She whispered, a bit of awe still in her eyes.
“Believe it,” Aurelie said with a grin. She seemed almost unaware of the other girl’s feelings, though Aurelie could see how relieved she was. “What’s the plan of action? Is it just find the others for now or what?”
"Princess?" Fay laughed and continued to climb. "You don't have to call me princess. I mean when we're alone you don't have too." She said the last part a little quieter, since it was embarrassing. She grabbed the ledge of the balcony and pulled herself up. "See, I'm totally fine!" She waved him to come up then ran in her room to change before he got up. A flowing gold dress was what she picked out. Quickly she changed then went to brush her hair. Fay wasn't sure why she was in such a rush. When she looked in the mirror, she realized why. Ren was right behind and she wanted him to see the good side of her, she wanted to look good for him. I must really like Ren. Thinking that her face turned red.

Being honest, Emerald hadn’t planned much past the part after finding the knights. “I think it’d be best to find the others. Since you exist, the others have to be out there somewhere.” Emerald took a deep breath. A chance. A spark of hope turning into a flame. “Though we should find somewhere to rest for the night, before nightfall.”

“Only if it’s your wish, m’lady,” Ren said playfully, with a small bow of his head. As much as his training told him to call her princess, he really did enjoy the informality of… whatever they were to each other. He was relieved to see Freya up at the top to safety. He glanced behind him before grabbing onto the bricks and pulling himself up. “I suppose this isn’t much different from climbing the shrouds of a ship,” He muttered to himself, though he was a bit slower than Freya while climbing. Just as he managed to get a hold of the railing, his foot slipped. “Freya-“ Ren shouted out, his other foot losing its grip as well. Shoot shoot shoot shoot-
“You’re right,” Aurelie agreed. “I don’t suppose that Travis will let us stay the night, so we’re going to have to go somewhere else.” She thought for a moment about where they could stay. She didn’t have a place of her own, after all.
"Yes?" Fay turned and walked to the balcony. When she saw a hand losing its grip. Running she slipped on her dress, her face hitting the ground. "Ow," Fay pushed through the pain and crawled to the hand and grabbed it. "Seriously?" Fay laughed, and pulled as hard as she could. The problem was it was just her and the Prince was a lot bigger than her. "Please try and climb, I really don't want to drop you." Now her face turned to worry. If she dropped him she would be lonely again. "Please,"
She was one of the knight. She really was. Zero didn't know how to react. He hadn't even though they where real. Heck he hadn't even known about how big the war was gonna be. Would three knights really be enough? Even if they where magical? Would killing the king trigger a war, even if they where trying to stop that in the first place? Zero let out a breath he hadn't even known he was holding. Some kind of relief washing over him. But at the same time, he seemed mire stressed then before. This all seemed so easy before he ran into the princess and decided to help her find these magic knights. What would she say if she found out? "How do we know you're not lying?" He finally said as he pulled his thoughts together.
“Don’t let go,” Ren told her, his voice filled with panic. He tried to calm his breathing, then tried to find a foothold. “Don’t let go,” He whispered, almost more to himself as he held on tightly to Freya’s arm. Ren made the mistake of looking down behind him. His stomach clenched. He normally wasn’t afraid of heights, but now. Ren scrambled to find a purchase. He finally managed to find an indent to hook his foot in, and he pushed himself up and over the railing—then landed basically on top of Freya.
“Does this answer your question?” Aurelie asked, unsheathing her sword. It shined in the dim lighting, practically glowing with magic. Its presence could practically be felt in the room.
Fay had trouble catching her breath and her arms hurt from trying to hold Ren up. Slowly she wrapped her arms around Ren's back and held him tight. That was scary. "You are not allowed to do that again." Although she wanted to cry a bit, Fay held the tears back. She just laid there and held him. Just then the door slammed open and it made Fay jump. Looking up a bit she saw the queen and Cas standing there. Immediately she released Ren and wiggled her way out from under him. "How unsightly. A princess doing such indecent things." The queens voice came like venom. Both Freya and Ren know they weren't doing anything, but the queen wouldn't listen to her. Blair led Cas in to introduce him, even though they already met.
Emerald stared at the sword in awe. Just like the fairytales. “Wow…” She murmured softly, eyes wide. Real. The knights were real, and here was living proof of them. It was incredible.
(I literally really wanted that to happen lol!)
Ren found himself holding on to Freya a bit longer, even after he regaining his composure. His heart was racing, but not only because he almost fell. Ren had never been this close in proximity to a person that wasn’t one of his brothers in forever, he was honestly a bit startled. Even more clueless when he realized Freya looked beautiful, especially in the gold dress. It took a moment for Ren to get up, even after the queen came in the room and introduced them to Cas. Once his senses caught up to him, he quickly bowed to the queen, “Your Majesty.” He prayed his cheeks weren’t as red as they felt.
The queen glared at Ren. Gently she pushed Cas in so she could get around. Stomping in, Blair took long strides towards Fay and grabbed her wrist. "You are a disgrace to the kingdom." Fay was a bit startled at first, but she glared right back. "Let go of me witch!" Blair raised her hand but before she could do anything Cad grabbed her wrist. "I suggest you don't do that. For one your daughter ran away and your son is gone as well. If they happen to not come back, Freya is the only one who can take care of this kingdom. And as my future queen," He stared into her eyes with such anger that Blair let go of Fay's wrist. "I suggest you don't touch her." Fay backed away into Cas, still glaring at the queen. It was nice of him to stand up to the Queen for her. No ones done that for me before. A few seconds later the queen left, and Fay was just in shock. "Hey, are you okay? Sorry about the future Queen stuff, I just figured it would help her back away." Cas was much taller than Freya, so she had to look up when he talked to her. "Oh, yeah, that's fine." Pushing him away she sat on her bed. Cas's expression was much softer and he seemed to actually care.
Ren paused, staring at the interaction, then immediately regretting his actions. I should’ve done something like that. He glanced at Cas, before looking back to Freya and adding softly, “I am sorry I fell on you, thank you for helping me up.” Ren glanced at the railing to the balcony.
Aurelie gave Zero a smirky “I told you so” type of look before sheathing the sword. It was easy to feel the absence of the ancient power that had permeated the room while Aurelie held the sword aloft. “So, first objective: find a place to spend the night…” she muttered.
Fay was snapped out of her thoughts when Ren spoke to her. "Of course. I wasn't going to just let you fall." She smiled. This is awkward. Both of them are in my room and I have nothing to talk about. "So uh, is there anything you two want to do?" She could introduce them to Ellie, but she wasn't sure if Ellie would like that. "Hm, maybe the dance hall?" Cas chimed in. Of course he wanted to see it to dance with Fay, but she didn't know that. "Ren's already seen that room though." Freya looked over at Ren. She wanted to do something they all would enjoy.
“I am happy to do whatever you want to do, Princess Freya,” Ren said with an inclining nod. He glanced at Prince Cas. For some reason he felt a little threatened, even though he really shouldn’t. Freya was her own person, and if by chance she liked Cas more than him… he have to live with that. At least I know Freya would -probably- still want to be my friend even if she ended up in a marriage with Prince Cas.
Zero had been completely dumb founded. Magic was rare as it is, but a magic knight. He really didn't believe it, even though he wanted to. It still felt almost fake. He rolled his eyes at her smirk, in his own way saying 'yeah yeah, whatever.'
“We can’t stay somewhere that requires them to know who we are. Or at least who I am. Preferably a small inn that won’t ask questions,” Emerald said softly, looking at the ground. A knight. Finally. She still wondered if she was dreaming.

"Alright, ballroom it is then." Freya led them out the door. Right outside the door was a maid, probably to keep an eye on Fay. "Excuse me, but could you please go get Ellie and have her change into one of my dress." Fay smiled but her eyes said that the maid had no choice. "I'll be waiting in the ball room." With that she walked away. Thank goodness her room wasn't too far from the ballroom. "With Ellie we'll have an even amount of boys and girls. Plus she super pretty and cool." Fay couldn't help but talk about her friend. She loved Ellie. Walking down the stairs, Fay almost tripped a few times. To the right was the large ballroom. "Well, here we are."
Ellie groaned when the maid told her to change into one of Fay's dresses. "That girl is going to get me fired," she muttered, letting herself into the prince's room. She made her way to the closet, and chose the plainest dress, changing quickly before making her way to the ballroom, heels. clicking down the hall. "Undoubtedly having a little party," she muttered to herself, opening the doors to the ballroom. "Alright, what do you want?" She called to Fay wryly.
Immediately Fay's eyes lit up and she ran to her friend jumping into her arms. "Ellie!" Any time Ellie was around Fay was always happy. "Well I have to guys here and I need help keeping them from killing each other." Fay whispered to her friend. "Alright, this room is huge so we can pretty much do anything we want." She spun and looked at the boys.
Ellie rolled her eyes. "Or, if you wanted to be smart for once, you could let me go back to work so I don't get fired. I was supposed to bring the queen a drink she's ago,.but I haven't been able to find her," she crossed her arms, tapping her fingers.
"It's cause she walking around making other people's lives miserable. Trust me," Fay turned with an evil smile, "If she fires you, I will make her life a living hell." Fay grabbed Ellie's hand and took her closer to the boys. "Just have some fun once in a while. Cas, Ren, this is Ellie, my bestfriend." Cas smiled and kissed the back of Ellie's hand. "It's very nice to meet you."
