"I'm following the rules." Soldier K stared at Soldier S.
"Well, last I checked, you talked to it first." Soldier S smirked.
"And yes, I do enjoy my job."

"Well, last I checked, you talked to it first." Soldier S smirked.
"And yes, I do enjoy my job."
“That’s nice, at least you’re enjoying yourself” he raised his hands which were still cuffed together. “Also… can you free me soon enough? This is getting really uncomfortable”
Soldier S chuckled.
"All in good time. We should be getting to the base soon." The vehicle had been driving for at least half an hour already.
Kassidy turns to the other soldier, her face still having a sad smile.
"So, what's your deal? Are you like this with everybody or..?" She states in a calm voice.
“Soon, thank you for such a clear explanation of how long. Just kidding, who the hell would know when soon is other than the damn driver” Syzen sighed as he said the last part.
"You. I find you hilarious." The female soldier smacked his arm.
"Yeah!" He said, rubbing his arm.
"Will you stop teasing her?" The female asked.
"That-" he said, gesturing to Ash, "-is an it."
Ash glared even harder. “This it has a gender. Or are you too stupid to know that?” She tilted her head, pretending to think. “Though you don’t strike me as one who has a brain. Or common sense.”
“Though you don’t strike me as one who has a brain. Or common sense.”
(Wow… XD)
“Though you don’t strike me as one who has a brain. Or common sense.”
(Wow… XD)
(What? I’m awful at coming up with insults? I know that.)
The soldier Kassidy spoke to scoffed.
"Just when I'm dealing with characters." They folded their arms, scowling softly.
Soldier S laughed.
"Yes, this is true." He pressed a button on his radio.
"Soldier M, any idea how much longer till we reach the base? Over." He released the button. The response came quickly.
"Soldier S, we have five minutes until we reach the base. Is the character giving you trouble? Over."
"No, I just need to get away from Soldier K. Over and out" Soldier S turned back to Syzen.
"Did that answer your question?"
The male soldier with Ash snorted.
"Things like you don't have a gender. Only children give toys gender." The debate soldier sighed.
"I apologize on my comrades behalf; he's not the most sensitive of people…"
Ash was practically fuming. “I’m not a toy. I may not be human, but I am most certainly not a toy. Get that through your thick skull, would ya?”
“Yep, thanks for that” Syzen was surprised how helpful this Soldier S was… until he turned to Soldier K.
“Can you… you know, interact with your senior? Like… at least a little?”
"Characters? So, I'm a character, like from a fictional world or something." She answers with a smile, happy to finally be understanding what's going on.
The male soldier leaned forward.
"Is that what you think? You must be delusional. Don't you know that every character is the toy of their author?"
Soldier K sneered.
"Don't blame me when you two get caught." Soldier S rubbed his forehead.
"As usual, the rules are only applicable when it's convenient for you."
"Wait. Your not freaked out? Or denying it?" The previously smug soldier looked confused.
"I've always believed that it was possible. It was a theory. You've just confirmed it." She answers, still happy to finally be understanding something that going on, and that her theory was correct.
“What the living fuck are you talking about?” Ash asked, forgetting her anger for a moment. “What author?”
"So, I suppose that means I have a creator too." She answers, still calm about the fact that she just found out that she isn't actually real, and just a character.
Soldier K sneered.
"Don't blame me when you two get caught." Soldier S rubbed his forehead.
"As usual, the rules are only applicable when it's convenient for you."
Syzen laughed a little at what Soldier S said.
“That reminds me…” he started “… why am I here again?”
The male soldier gave a wicked smile.
"Why, your author, of course. Things like you only exist in stories."
"Yes, that's right. Though I suggest you don't think about them. Characters aren't allowed to find their authors," the kinder soldier explained.
Soldier S and Soldier K exchanged looks.
"That's not good," Soldier S mumbled.
“Alright, fair enough. I’ll try to find that out myself” Syzen sighed.
"That's fine with me, as long as I get to see Andy again. That's all that matters to me." Kassidy states in a serious tone, with a smile.
Soldier S turned to Syzen.
"I'd suggest figuring something out quick; Agents don't like it when characters don't know why they're here."
The kinder soldier nodded to Kassidy. "Wise choice. "
"Also, quick question. Why am I here?" She asks the kinder soldier, with curiosity.
Ash looked blankly at him; then to the female. “What In Ariama’s name is he talking about?”
Luna gains a questioning gaze but doesn't say anything else. She looks around silently for any escape route and then for her scythe. She thinks for a few moments before speaking monotone, “Where is Zamaar?”.
