"Where were you last night, kid?" He glares down at her

In response, the window on the building next to the grocery store exploded, shattering the floor with glass. Elara looks at him for a second, blood dripping down her nose. Then she turns and runs.

"ugh." maya says as they walk into the station.

"hey is officer baye here?" her dad asks.

Baye yelps, holding his arms above his head, "Hey wait!"

It's too late. Elara has disappeared. But on the sidewalk is a single drop of blood.

"Not yet." says florence "but wait in that chair." she tells maya and her dad.

Maya hears shouting next door about a kid named Will. She has no idea who he is but she thinks he must be lost.

Baye straightens, looks around then shakes his head, "The heck?" He then starts to bike toward the police office since it was so close

"hmmmm." she says
