Elias grabbed Kula's arm. "She still has a pulse. So, she's not too far gone. Winter, do what you must…" Winter nodded, and placed her fingers on Kula's chest. "Kula, please don't hate me. I have to do it to prevent you from bleeding out… It's gonna be cold, and it's gonna hurt worse, but it'll save your life…" Winter looked down and her eyes began to glow once more, she send rushes of cold through Kula's veins until she knew that Kula's blood was almost frozen… Winter gasped, and looked up at Elias. "Your turn. I've done all I can with her blood… Elias, Don't kill yourself… Please…"
The ship lifted off the ground, speeding toward the stars. Essar collapsed onto the floor, the adrenaline rush leaving him.
Winter sighed. "Essar, what happened to Kula? Or do you even know?" Winter turned. "And who are they?" As she pointed toward Wreyna, and Teela.
Shiloh backed away when Winter froze her sister's blood. She took several steps before pivoting and running into the girls' "room".
"My family." Essar murmured, not taking his eyes off Teela. Teela stopped what she was doing and stared at Essar. He stood up, and walked over to her, gently cupping her face in his hands. "Teela…" He murmured.
Shiloh put her hands on her forehead and her elbows on her knees. Her breaths were heavy and ragged.
Estelle watched Shiloh quietly from the corner, unseen so far by the young Twi'lek.
Winter smiled. I hope Elias and I can be like that one day… Looking at Essar and Teela. Then, Winter suddenly snapped back into reality. She turned, "Estelle, are you ok? That shoulder doesn't look too good…" Back at the table, Elias was weezing. The effort of trying to close a wound that was cut, was exhausting. His vision swam, and he was straining. The wound was slowly coming back together, but the effort was tearing him apart. He started shaking, and he couldn't seem to keep his balance…
Estelle nodded. "I'm fine." She covered her pain extremely well. No one could tell how much pain she was really in except her.
Essar would've kissed Teela right there and then, but there were other people around. "Are you alright?" He whispered. "Are you hurt?" Teela shrugged. "I broke my leg a while ago, and it healed funny, but other then that, I'm fine." Her tone didn't convince him, but he let the subject drop. He'd talk to her about it later. He turned and picked up Wreyna. "You've grown so big." He chuckled. Wreyna said nothing, hugging Essar tightly.
WInter raised her eyebrows. "Uh huh. Estelle, You really think I'm going to believe that? We share a link sweetheart. You're hurt, and I can tell it. Come on. Let me go wrap it and clean it." Suddenly, Elias faltered, and Winter saw it out of the corner of her eye. "Elias! Elias!" She darted over there, and he was heaving. She touched him, and knew he was on the breaking point. "Oh no… Elias… I'm going to help you. You aren't hurt, but I can shift energy. I may not have much, but if it will keep you with me, you can have it. I'll just sleep the exhaustion off… Here…" She laid her finger on his shoulder.
Elias felt Winter touch him, and memories ran through his head. Memories of him, and Winter. Together. His vision sharpened, and his senses came back into focus. The wound was almost healed, and Kula's breathing was much more even…
Estelle let Elias have Winter. Her shoulder throbbed so bad that Estelle nearly blacked out twice. Once, her head lolled back and smacked on the wall before she could control it again.
Winter noticed Estelle, and she noticed that she was in bad shape. She wanted to go help Estelle, but Elias needed her more, she was torn. Elias was almost through with Kula, just a few moments more, and she would be out of the woods… Just a few moments more…
Estelle patiently watched Elias and Winter work on Kula. Her shoulder sang with pain.
Shiloh shook her head mournfully. "I lost her once and now I'm losing her again. It's my fault…"
Winter turned angrily. "Shiloh, you are not going to lose her! I promise. Elias is trying his hardest. He's exhausting himself to the point of breaking because he cares for his friends. Kula will survive." Winter looked back down at Elias. "Come on Elias… Just a little bit longer…" Elias was heaving. He was nearing the point where he was about to close the wound up, and he faltered. He gritted his teeth, and pushed himself even farther, and the wound slowly closed up. All that was there was a noticeable scar. When he was finished, he tried to stand up, leaning on Winter for support, but she couldn't hold himself up, let alone herself. Elias collapsed to the floor, twitching. Winter bent down, and laid her head on his chest. "Frost boy, don't ever do that again. But otherwise, you did good. You saved Kula. Now I'll have to melt her blood again…" Elias just turned his head. He muttered breathlessly, "Yeah. I saved Kula. But, I'm gonna be out of it for a few days…" Winter shakily stood up, "Hey Essar, can you help Elias to his room? I don't think he can walk… Really well…" Winter slowly turned toward the table, and laid her fingers on Kula's chest. She drew the ice of of Kula's veins, and let Kula drift off into a peaceful sleep. WInter backed up satisfied, and she turned toward Estelle. "Now for you. Let me fix your shoulder. I need to. Come on, follow me."
Kula shifted subconsciously. Shiloh raced over to her and grabbed her hand. "Kula…?" There was no response. Even though Shiloh knew that she was probably sleeping, she began to panic. "Kula?"
Estelle tried to push herself up with one hand. It didn't work. She fell back down, the impact sending a spike of pain up her spine. She hissed through her teeth and tried using her injured arm. She almost blacked out from the pain and her vision was spotty. "W-Winter?"
Winter sighed. She walked over to Estelle. "Come on. Get up. Lean on me, you're going to be ok. I know your arm has to be hurting like something fierce. Let me clean it up." Winter's head turned toward Shiloh, and Kula on the table. "Shiloh, Kula is fine. She's just in a deep sleep. She'll wake up in about 4 hours. Until then, just let her sleep…" Winter turned back toward Estelle, and she helped her up, using her not hurt arm.
Winter sighed. She walked over to Estelle. "Come on. Get up. Lean on me, you're going to be ok. I know your arm has to be hurting like something fierce. Let me clean it up." Winter's head turned toward Shiloh, and Kula on the table. "Shiloh, Kula is fine. She's just in a deep sleep. She'll wake up in about 4 hours. Until then, just let her sleep…" Winter turned back toward Estelle, and she helped her up, using her not hurt arm.
Estelle bit back her moan. When she was finally standing, the spots began to recede, but she felt slightly lightheaded. She shook it off.
Shiloh heard Winter, but she didn't move. Her hands still clasped Kula's.
Winter put her arm around Estelle's waist. "Here we go. Easy now. I'm not going to let you fall… I can see in your eyes, that you can't focus on anything…" She escorted Estelle back to the medic room. She pointed to the counter. "Sit, Please. And here, if you need to grit your teeth, bite down on this. Or, I could just knock you out…" Winter said jokingly, as she handed Estelle a rag.
