"Hmm…" Logan was quiet for several seconds. "Am I a bad friend because I do not understand love? Do I ignore you guys too often to be considered a true friend?" He asked.
"Hmm…" Logan was quiet for several seconds. "Am I a bad friend because I do not understand love? Do I ignore you guys too often to be considered a true friend?" He asked.
"No! Of course not, Lo! Some people just have a harder time understanding love than others do. It doesn't make you a bad person! Not at all! If I gave you that impression, I'm sorry…" Patton felt like something he had said while explaining everything hurt Logan with how he was asking if he was really a true friend.
Logan nodded, considering for a few more seconds. "I think you and the others have more complicated emotional needs than I do, and I fail to see that most of the time. My apologies."
"No, Logan, it's okay! I'm going to help you understand their emotions, but don't feel like your lack of understanding means that you are some sort of fake friend!" Patton said.
Logan looked up at Patton and hummed softly. "How do I become a better friend?" He asked. He did understand what Patton was saying, but he also assumed that his friends likely grew frustrated with him for not reciprocating emotionally sometimes.
"You don't need to improve! You're already a great friend! I'm going to help you understand emotions, but please, don't take it as if you were a bad or fake friend before this! You were always a great friend to us, and you always will be! Please understand that…" Patton was on the verge on tears, feeling like he was making Logan feel like a bad friend.
"Why are you doing that?" Logan asked quietly, brushing away Patton's tears with one thumb. "Isn't that one bad? You're saying good things but your expression doesn't match… Virgil does that a lot, doesn't he?"
"I'm not lying to you, Lo, but I feel like I've made you feel like you're a bad friend to us… That's not what a good friend is supposed to do… They're supposed to make their friends happy…They aren't supposed to make their friends feel bad… That gives off impressions of fake friendship, which isn't what I want…" Patton said.
"I don't believe I often make you guys happy, though. I mostly keep tho myself and read or go to the library to be alone. Surely that doesn't make you happy?"
"I don't think they ever held it against you… A good friend respects their friends and their different interests… They understand when they want to do other things, and you be yourself is a good thing, and you still hang out with us, so it's not like you ignore us completely… a-and I'm sorry… for making you… feel like… you failed us…" Patton just wanted Logan to feel like a good friend, and he felt like he messed up with the conversation showing different effects.
"I don't believe you've done anything wrong, Patton. I'm the one who doesn't understand emotions, after all. Now… what am I supposed to do when another person is… uh… 'sad'?" He asked.
"The best thing to do… would be to comfort them… How depends on the person… b-but there's always a way… Hugs tend to help them… a-and anything… to do with what they love… A-Anything to assure them… t-that it's okay…" Patton said.
Logan hesitated for several seconds before awkwardly enveloping Patton in his arms and patting his head. "It is okay. Whatever 'it' actually is, it is okay."
(He tryin his best qwq <333)
(Yes, yes he is. I really sense Logicality happening soon)
Patton felt slightly calmer with the hug, even if it was awkward. Just knowing that Logan was trying to help him was making him feel like things might be okay.
(Yee)
"Is this helping…?" Logan whispered, still seeming rather awkward and confused. Patton seemed to be a little happier with this strange interaction, though, so he let it continue.
Patton nooded. "I-It is helping…" It truly was helping, too, and Patton continued to calm down with every passing second. For Logan barely understanding what to do here and the interaction being awkward, there was something about being in Logan's arms that gave Patton a sense of comfort.
(Gonna throw in the boys)
Virgil headed downstairs quietly with Roman, yawning a bit. He paused at the doorway and held his arm in front of Roman's chest, gesturing for him to be quiet as he watched Logan and Patton. They're hugging?? This is so strange…
Roman noticed that Logan and Patton were hugging, and he was curious about what was going on between them. Patton and Logan are actually hugging? What is going on, and why does it look like Patton might've been crying a bit ago? Is Logan actually providing comfort? This is strange…
"Have your eyes stopped doing the thing?" Logan asked, pulling away from Patton a bit to examine his face. "Hmm… you look a tad feverish." He said, referring to Patton's flushed cheeks. "You should drink some water."
"I-I'm okay now… I stopped crying, which is what was going on earlier. It can happen in sadness, or being hurt, or sometimes when you're scared or angry. Also, okay. I will drink some water in a moment, and thanks for comforting me, Lo," Patton said.
"Are you angry with me?" Logan asked, cocking his head to the side a bit in confusion. Virgil watched silently from the doorway, trying took figure out what the hell was going on.
"No! No, not at all! I rarely get angry with people! I was just sad seeing how you came off as kind of sad feeling like you're a bad friend or maybe even a fake friend… You're really not, and you helped me calm down, so really, thank you…" Patton said.
Logan nodded. "Am I sad?" He asked. "Was that the feeling from earlier?"
"He really is clueless, isn't he?" Virgil whispered to Roman.
"Well, it was more of disappointed in yourself for having a lack of experience on how to help us, but that can also translate to a form of sadness," Patton said.
"He is truly clueless, yes," Roman whispered back.
"Ah… well, you should go get your water now. Fevers should not be ignored, though the redness seems to have faded…" Logan gently touched Patton's cheek.
