Being one of the oldest, Rayvn was supposed to confront all the campers with this prophecy, and form a team who would see it through the end. However, with the knowledge he had, it was difficult to do anything about it.
As far as he was concerned, there were only 4 people who needed to go: a child of Apollo, Athena, Aphrodite, and Hades—Soul, Brain, Heart and Death. There was no way in hell he was going to allow his little sister to go on this quest, the stakes were just too high and he didn't want to risk her being killed. He didn't doubt her ability to hold her own, but he just cared too much about her. That only left himself from the Hades cabin…
Jade decided that she wanted to be the one to go on the quest. She would probably be able to travel and given some resources she might be able to figure out some of the lines. She was a daughter of Athena, this should be easy. She was smart. She could do this.
(I don't really know what else to write at the moment, it's a little difficult when the others aren't active.)
(I know. Jade can only do so much. CALLING EVERY OTHER PERSON!)
(Ok hi sorry I dont really have wifi atm lol. Um, I don't- I mean, should we just have them meet in the big house? I just feel like it makes it really confusing when we have to describe the process of choosing who goes? Idk, we don't have to)
(Yeah that sounds like a good idea)
(I'll just - )
Juniper sat on the very edge of her seat, tapping her fingers rapidly against her leg. She wasn't able to formulate any kind of speech pattern, and stared at the ground while listening to the small amount of noise coming from everyone else in the room.
Jade walked over to Juniper. “Do you want to go? I’m definitely want to go.”
Rayvn was leaning against the wall, thumb pressed against his lips. While there was every possibility that a team needed to leave right away, the last time Rachel produced a prophecy such as this, it was a long time before the campers needed to do anything about it.
The red-haired oracle was sat with her hands on her lap, her legs bouncing about as if she were uncomfortable.
"There was something else I needed to tell you all, and it isn't very good news…"
"Tell us." Rayvn said, now biting the tip of his thumb.
Rachel turned to all of them, pure fear could be seen clearly in her eyes. "Aphrodite is missing."
Jade groaned. “Seriously!?! I NEED for coffee!” She rubbed her temples trying to get rid of her new headache. “It’s too early to be dealing with this. Why can’t the gods just sit up on Olympus and eat their effing ambrosia!”
The sky rumbled, causing both Rayvn and Rachel to scowl at Jade.
"I'd watch what I say if I were you." Rachel scorned, a proud expression plastered on her features. "You may be a child of the gods, but that is all you are. A child. Perhaps if you become a god then you can decide what you say about them, but for the mean time I suggest you keep your comments to yourself."
Rayvn looked out of the window with a large sigh. "Trust me, Rachel, I wouldn't bother with her. She may be the daughter of Athena, but even Athena would be disappointed in her."
Jade shut her mouth and brushed past Rayvn. She mumbles “Who isn’t disappointed in me.” Then louder, “Dear old mom must have that in common with my family then. I got my nose piercing an hour after dad said no. Sorry dad.”
Rayvn let out another sigh and crossed his arms. He remained silent for a moment, not really having anything to say.
"As much as I want to help," Rachel spoke, a little reluctantly. "I am not allowed to give you the guidance you need. It is something you must discover on your own." As if the campers didn't already know that. They would have been fools if they expected to be given all the answers straight away.
Jade walked up into the big house. “Chiron, umm, can I go on the quest? I’ll be the child of Athena.” He has to let me go. He just HAS to.
(I think they're already in the Big House…)
(Ah, yeah, they are lol. They've already been chosen, I just wanted to skip past the process because it takes too long and I'm too dead for that)
"We have to sort out this whole business by ourselves then," Juniper clarified, though it sounded like a question. She was terrified. She was never going to let any of her campers go, but she sure as hell didn't want to. There weren't even any clear instructions, they just had to… guess at what to do.
"That's always the way with these things.." Rayvn murmured, keeping his eyes locked on the life outside the window. After another moment of silence he pushed himself off the wall and shoved his hands into his pockets. "I'm going to pack, catch you guys later." and with that he left the house, something still played on his mind. The penultimate line of the oracle's message. 'But what if Love and Death unite'. Logic would only assume that meant either Aphrodite and Hades, or one each of their respective children. That was the only part of the prophecy that Rayvn just couldn't get his head around, everything else made sense as clear as day.
(Sorry- I’m a bit out of it)
Jade spun on her heels. “Well, I’ll be packing.” She looked over her shoulder “Let’s try to be back here in an hour. We can plan and try to figure everything out. That seems simple enough.”
Juniper begrudgingly stood and went to her cabin to pack. Thankfully, it was deserted. She'd asked her cabin to continue training, and by some miracle, they had listened to her.
Jade grabbed her old backpack- it was an old blue north face backpack, the only birthday gift she ever got from her stepmom. It was useful. She put two knives in it along with a sweatshirt some jeans and a few T-shirts. On second thought there might be times when she was sitting on a bus and bored so she grabbed some pencils and her sketch book. She grabbed a copy of the Selection. It was her favorite book. So what if it was a romance book. She slipped her studded biker gloves on and complete the look with a leather jacket. She was ready to go. She snatched her people scrunchie on her way out the door. She should put her hair up later. Jade ran back over to the Big House. Everybody should be getting back soon.
Juniper snatched a change of clothes and a bag of hair ties, shoving them into her backpack. She looked around and shook her head at herself, realizing she'd almost forgotten her bow. After taking that and a quiver of arrows that probably belonged to Angeles, Juniper left the cabin, trying to reach the Big House, but getting distracted and spacing out so much that she decided to just sit for a few minutes and pluck at the grass.
(Sorry I couldn't be on yesterday. It was Cleaning Day)
Carina debated going over and talking to the people by the woods. On one hand, they could have information that could help her figure out this prophecy. On the other, they couldn't and it would get awkward and a whole load of bad things could go wrong socially. So in the end, she stayed put. Just standing there, trying to stop her head from spinning. One thing's for sure, she is going to go on a quest or even worst one of her siblings. Shuddered at the thought as it passed through her head again. What could she do? She was athletic but far from the top fighter in her cabin. And another thing, she was a coward. She doesn't do well in high stakes situations and should avoided them. Maybe just support whichever sibling went or something. It s=would be better for someone to go that was actually able to.
Well after a few hours, her plan backfired horribly. Carina found herself sitting in the Big House. Children of Apollo, Hades, and Athena surrounded her looking ready for anything. She even though she heard one say they wanted to go on this quest. This was insane! She shouldn't be here. So through there she stood. Leaning against a wall with her arms crossed. Head bowed towards the floor with her eyes wide just a bit more than usual. Whether the others can tell if she was panicking or not was not clear but the daughter of Aphrodite was regretting all decisions that lead her there.
Once disbanded, she walked to her cabin kind of out of it. Her mom was missing! Sure, she never knew the goddess personally but that didn't mean she wasn't worried. What happened? Was she taken or went on a century long bender. It had to be the first option or there wouldn't have been a call for heroes. Gods, what about the thing about Love and Death uniting. Carina didn't think Aphrodite was that close with Hades but she could be wrong. But what if it meant the children? Then that meant she had to unite with one of the two children of Hades and each was intimidating in their own way. She never even talked to them before.
The girl's mind continued to spin as she packed. Some of her siblings helped and had sympathetic faces. Others voiced the bet on how long she would last as it was no secret of how much of a coward she can be. But Carina just brushed it off and gathered her things. A few loud voices shouldn't drown out the many more supportive ones. So in ten minutes flat, she had gather a few pairs of shirts and jeans, a hoodie, her sketchbook along with a few pencils, and her to daggers. All of which were packed into a bag being lent by one of her siblings before she walked out the door. Where she was meant to go from her was unclear.
Jade saw Juniper sitting in the grass and sighed. She walked over and sat next to her. “So. I guess I should be nice since we are going on a quest. So. My friend once said people ask each other questions when they try to be friends. So what’s your favorite color?”
