“I wasn’t telling you what to do, I was advising. There’s a huge difference.” Rayvn’s voice and expression clearly conveyed the message that he was bored. “You little Apollo kids need to be careful, and if you,” he looked to Athena’s child, “If you are as smart as you think you are, you know what’s best for you. And I assure you it is not arguing with each other at seven in the morning.” The older boy let go of the two girls’ wrists and made his way back to the pavilion to be with his sister. Some people really knew how to get on his nerves, but he wasn’t going to lose control. Not now…
Jade stares at him for a second before replying. “Sure. Ok.” She pushed her hair and began to walk away ashamed. He seemed nice.
"Seems a lot less like advising when you've got to grab people's wrists in order to 'advise' them," Juniper muttered with an eye roll. She headed back to her cabin and stared at the ceiling blankly. She was bored. And pissed. And a terrible cabin leader, clearly.
“Take a chill pill Juniper!” Jade turned towards the Apollo cabin leader.
Cielle looked up from her place at the hades table and looked at the bit of food in front of her. She put the bar in her pocket and chugged the juice. Once she finished, she wiped her mouth and made her way to the cabin, intending on grabbing her weapons then going into the forest to train in privacy.
(Just putting á la bump here for when people are ready)
(Should we skip to the prophecy?)
(Coolio, so we'll just say that they're all outside training. Who wants to be Rachel?)
(I don't want to so I'm cool with that)
A flurry of bright red waves could be seen rushing from the doors of the Big House down to the training area. A woman with paint splattered overalls ran as quickly as she could to the campers, standing on a little ledge at the side of the area where everyone would be able to see her. She knew it was coming, the feeling inside her was all too familiar, though it had been some time since this had last happened.
Rayvn was sat along the treeline, he wasn't in the mood to spar. Seeing Rachel had piqued his interest though, she rarely ever left that house.
"Hey!" he called for everyone's attention. "I think Rachel has something she wants to tell us!"
Juniper looked up in confusion before nodding and moving closer so that she could see Rachel. "This'll be interesting," she thought aloud.
(I am sorry for being dead. School got in the way.)
Carina was an early riser but not an early leaver. There was a difference she swears to anyone who would listen. She woke up at the crack of dawn but continues to fail to leave her cabin at an appropriate time. So there she is sketching out random doodles completely missing breakfast. Her siblings don't particularly care as this happens often and if one asks f she would be leaving soon, the girl will say yes in a few minutes before forgetting. So she misses everyone's bad mood and everything going on in the dining hall until she hears a shout outside.
"Hey! I think Rachel has something she wants to tell us!" It was kind of muffled from the walls of the cabin but this snaps Carina out of her day dream. She was supposed to be training! In a small panic, she quickly got ready and ran outside. Everyone was focused on what Rachel was going to say to notice a random Child of Aphrodite running around like a chicken without out its head. She stopped a little bit away from the crowd. Just enough so she could hear what was happening.
Cielle frowned, wiping sweat off her forehead as she moved away from her sparring partner. She went to get a drink of water before standing against a nearby tree
Rachel's eyes glowed a bright, serpentine green, and her voice echoed over all of the campers:
The Brain, Heart, and Soul collide,
Love is pain and it must die,
When children's lives are on the line,
Death himself must choose a side.
End the pain, the voices cry,
End it now, or all shall die,
But what if Love and Death unite,
To save the day, and end this fight?
When the words had finished flowing from her lips, a breath of air knocked into her like a small punch—a feeling she wasn't yet used to. She gazed up at the sky, before her terrified eyes drifted back towards the campers. She looked like she had something else to say, but something was stopping those words from getting out.
Rayvn stood, bracing himself against a tree, his own eyes were wide in horror. Certain words had engraved themselves into his brain. Did the prophecy mean what he thought it meant? He looked over the campers, until his eyes rested on a girl stood by the cabins.
Cielle's eyes widen and she made her way to her brother. "Rayvn? Does this mean that one of us…." she trailed off
Carina made an audible gasp. It was not everyday the demigods got a prophecy much less something world ending. Okay, maybe that is a lie as most of the prophecies she heard were world ending but she never considered actually hearing one in her lifetime. Some words got stuck in her head like brain, heart, and soul. Was that referring to the demigods or at least their parents? It made no sense and Carina was kind of frustrated with the lack of clarity in a prophecy. Maybe that is why no one liked them. They are just glorified riddles. So there the girl stood, rooted to her spot not knowing what to do. Brain could mean a child of Athena and with that logic heart would mean Aphrodite. And that thought left a bad taste in her mouth.
Juniper froze in shock, barely managing to breathe. Her brain was working to process the prophecy, and she was in a state of mild panic. She had never liked even hearing about prophecies, but this was so much worse than hearing stories. She managed to stumble to a tree and lean against it. "Does anyone have a quick translation of who needs to go?" She asked in general to the campers around her.
"I think I know." Rayvn whispered, keeping his eyes on the Aphrodite child by the cabins. He turned to Cielle with a half smile and pulled her close to him in a gentle hug. "Oh C, things are about to get nasty. It's happening again."
Carina takes a few deep breaths. This was bad and she didn’t want any of her siblings hurt. Sure some of them are snobbish but that doesn’t mean she wanted them to be pawns to the gods. She continues to takes deep breaths to calm her racing heart when she gets the uncomfortable feeling of being stared at. Carina glances around before catching sight of three people near the forest.
Jade began to walk toward the forest. What did that even mean? Love should die? Love and death unite? What kind of prophecy was that? She took another shaking breath and told herself to be calm. She was Jade. She had to be calm. She had to be the one who didn’t care about Camp Half Blood. She took one last uneven breath and smoothed her blue hair. She stopped at the edge of the forest and plopped down against a tree. Her mind began to wander far from CHB.
