"O… kay?" Cassie muttered in confusion. This day just kept getting stranger.

Vesper nodded, remaining silent. What did Aquila want him to say, if anything? Best to remain silent. Speak only when spoken to.
“A thaumaturge,” Aquila mused to himself for a moment. “You’re powerful,” he finally stated, “that can’t be denied. However, everyone has those chips now. Which makes our powers useless.” His voice grew stronger as he worked himself up. “No one dares to even attempt getting Levana’s reign back, because Lunar’s are forced to give up their powers and humans are protected by the chip.”
(I WANNA BE THORNE!!!!)
(This is second-gen OOF)
(ok then how about Cade Thorne the daughter of Carswell Thorne)
(I mean I think that would work and you could mimic Thorne’s personality lol. Emmylove would be your sister since she plays Cassie, one of Thorne and Cress’s children. Also Emmylove is the creator of this rp so get confirmation from her first XD)
(got it)
Vesper hesitated. "I…never got a chip, actually." He said softly. "Syb-mom had hidden me away from everyone. No one knew I existed, so I never got a chip." Or, well, he had, and then it had been removed by another one of his mom's friends.
(Erm… I'm not sure, cause I already sort of had a story going for Cassie, but… I guess?)
His eyes glowed with understanding and… greed? This conversation was slowly anchoring Aquila where he belonged, and he felt comfortable. More guarded. Slipping into a role he was molded for. "No chip - now that's powerful." He decided to not reveal his lack of chip, either. "But it doesn't change that your powers won't work on a human or…" he hesitated, gesturing to the group gathered beneath the tree, "them."
Vesper inclined his head in a nod. "I know. It will, however, work on any who don't have a chip. And if we can find some way to get rid of the chips or…take away their ability to dampen our powers…" He trailed off, remembering that it was Aquila's job to lead. He just followed orders. That was his job.
A grin curved up his features, a grin that disfigured his countenance. He didn't seem to notice roles as Vesper did. "I like how you think," he merely said, approval shining in his voice. "Now for the real challenge - how?"
Vesper hesitated. "I don't know." He admitted. "The best way would be to remove them, but…" He trailed off, watching Aquila.
"I think we need to tackle each person one at a time. But how will they not realize the scars, how will they not suspect us, and most importantly… Karina has a huge possibility of developing powers." The light seemed to die in his eyes. "So does Cassie, since Cress was a shell. She might still have the genetics…" he wondered out loud.
"So we should get closer to those two?" Vesper suggested. "Get to know them, figure out what exactly they're like. If they could be a threat." He said softly. He hadn't even thought of Karina and Cassie as maybe developing powers.
(Well now that you've made the suggestion…)
(lol)
"They could all be part lunar," Aquila exclaimed, the realization dawning on him too suddenly. He shook his head, trying to clear it. "Our biggest threat is Karina," he finally said, managing to deduce logically. "Ze'ev's genetic mutations probably muted a lot of his, and Alpha is too jittery to properly control the small fraction she has. That leaves us with…"
(Ikr…)
Vesper frowned, and nodded. "So our biggest threat is Karina." He agreed. "You already know her a bit…maybe you should be the one to get closer to her?" He said slowly.
He paused, a bit of stress wriggling in his stomach, before nodding. "I'll get closer to her, and she shouldn't assume anything, anyway. She's never felt what's it's like to have her powers. If worst comes to worst we can glamour an illusion or try to make her forget?" The plan was risky, but solid. It made sense. And he was confident that Vesper and he could take her down - the pair had tons more experience.
After she had left Cassie, Alana silently cursed herself for being so weird with someone she had just met. You idiot! a tiny voice in her head said. However, she had accidentally stumbled upon Aquilla and Vesper chatting. A threat? she wondered. Her hands shoved in her pockets, she tried to hurry past them, hoping they wouldn't notice her.
Vesper nodded. "That would work. I-" he broke off with a soft sigh. He knew only too well what it felt like to have someone in his mind, twisting his thoughts and his dreams and shattering him apart. He knew he could recreate it, but…it made something uneasy settle into his gut, as he remembered what it had been like.
Surprised that neither of them had said anything, fear twisting inside her, she looked up, coming to a full stop. One of the boys, he looked broken, shattered almost. She almost felt bad for him, but then the tiny voice in her head came back. He's considering a girl you've never met a threat! Why should you feel bad for him? But her morality got the better of her, and in a small voice she asked quietly, "A-are you ok?" looking down, unsure of how he would react.
"Yes?" Aquila started, eager to see any humanity or emotion Vesper was capable of displaying. It sounded genuine, even to his ears, and he supposed the question was. Eventually, his right eye snapped to the source of sound - a girl. How long had she been lurking?
