Gonta got off of Maki after a moment, although he continued to glare at her. If she tried anything again, he was going to have to attack her again, although he was still a bit hesitant to. It was why he backed off almost as soon as he was asked to. If the assassin could confirm that she'd stop trying to kill Kiibo, he would leave her alone. However, if she continued with her plan, he would attack her again and prevent her from hurting Kiibo further.
“My damage is done,” she hissed before trying to get up and leave
Gonta sighed as he looked at Maki again. He still wanted to know why she did something like that, and he also wondered about just how much damage she had done to his lover. There was still a lot on his mind, as it didn't make sense why anyone would want to do anything like that to Kiibo, and he just wanted to know that he could have his boyfriend back, although it was unclear if he would ever be the same again.
"Just…why did you do this…?" he asked her softly. "Kiibo did nothing wrong… There was no reason to hurt him… You hurt someone that Gonta loves, but why…?"
“Because kiibo isn't human, he doesn't have feelings and he can't show companionship “
Kokichi sent a glare towards Maki. While he teased Kiibo about that all the time, he did it as a joke. Somehow, someone being genuinely robophobic towards him bothered him a lot. He did consider Kiibo to be a friend of his by that point, although he did continue teasing him for fun. He just liked seeing his reactions to the comments. However, at the time, he was angry with Maki's comments.
"Hey! Only I'm allowed to be robophobic towards Kiibo! I just tease him!" he exclaimed. "That's just rude! Gonta, get rid of her already! She clearly hates your boyfriend!"
Gonta was just as offended by Maki's comment as Kokichi was. Besides, he knew that it was a complete lie. Kiibo was capable of expressing emotions and showing companionship, and he knew that from his own experiences with the other. For someone to say a completely blatant lie, it showed a complete hatred of Kiibo. Gonta still didn't understand why the assassin hated his boyfriend so much, but he was angry.
"That's a lie!" he yelled. "Stop hurting Kiibo! Please! He has feelings!"
“Then prove it gonta.” maki challenged
Kokichi growled at Maki. How was Gonta supposed to prove anything if Kiibo was basically unconscious? It was clear that the assassin wouldn't take explanations as evidence, and they couldn't prove anything if the person in question was completely unconscious. He never thought that he could hate Maki more than he did, but seeing how she treated the people he considered friends, and the two friends that had never done anything wrong, at that, he couldn't help but hate her more. Even if he teased the others a lot, he cared deeply about them, and Maki treating them like this bothered him.
"How do you want him to prove that…!? Clearly Kiibo being his boyfriend proves nothing! Clearly the proposal, the ring on Gonta's finger, also proves nothing to you, so what do you want from him…?!" he yelled. "He can't prove anything with KIibo since you've caused him to completely shut down!" He wanted to start cussing at Maki, although he knew that Gonta disliked it when people used that sort of language, so he refrained from doing so. "You want to make him angry! You want to make him feel hopeless! I can tolerate this with most people, but Gonta?! What did he even do to you?! I may tease him and all that, but I care about him! He's never done anything wrong, so whatever motive you have to harm the person closest to him is stupid!"
Gonta was growing frustrated by the situation. He had no idea what to do, and he felt horrible that he couldn't do anything to save his lover. He had no idea how to prove anything, and while Kokichi was trying to defend him, it wasn't doing much. All he wanted was for everyone to calm down, for things to return to normal. As anger, sadness, and confusion rushed through his mind at once, he found himself becoming overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. After a moment, he eventually just started crying.
(Maki, I am not happy with you. You made best boy cry- >:c)
Maki huffed “fine, but he's waking up~,” she said
And kiibo was, his body twitching and he kept letting out soft whimpers
Once Kiibo woke up, Gonta rushed to his lover's side. He was still crying, obviously upset by everything. He felt like he had failed Kiibo entirely for allowing all of this to happen to his lover, and to see his lover in pain was more than upsetting for him. He wanted the other to be okay, but he wasn't sure if he would ever be okay again.
"Kiibo…" he cried softly as he grabbed his lover's hand. "Kiibo…Gonta's so sorry…! You're hurt…and Gonta couldn't save you… Gonta…Gonta failed you…!"
“ you.. You didn't fail..” kiibo whispered, “ you could never fail me..”
Gonta shook his head as he picked his lover up. He couldn't accept that he didn't fail the other, as he felt like he could have done more to protect him. If he had just acted sooner, or if he had gone with Kiibo, or even if he had stopped his lover from going after noticing his expression, maybe things could have played out differently. However, he didn't do any of that, so he felt like he had failed the other.
"But…Gonta…let you…get hurt…!" he sobbed. It seemed like he would have a difficult time forgiving himself. "Gonta…Gonta is sorry…for failing you…"
Kiibo shook his head, trying to not scream in pain when he was picked up
“Kiibo knows you meant well, and kiibo loves you.” kiibo reminded, kissing the other softly
Kiibo's decision to imitate Gonta's speech pattern seemed to calm him down a bit, although he was still worried. It was unlikely that he had completely forgiven himself, but his focus had shifted from feeling he had done things wrong to trying to get Kiibo help. He wasn't entirely sure what could be done, but if someone could help his lover, he would get him to them as quickly as possible.
"Kiibo…Gonta needs to know something…" he said softly. "Who can help you…? Gonta doesn't want you to be hurt…"
“My father, he built me.. And rantaro.. He knows my layout inside and out” kiibo said, tucking his head into gontas neck
Gonta nodded in response as he rushed out of the room with Kiibo. He left Shuichi and Kokichi to get the missing pieces that were still in tact enough to be reattached to his lover's body, and once they had everything, they went to find Rantaro. He could do everything that he needed to, and then they could leave the rest to Professor Iidabashi. As long as Kiibo recovered, things would be okay.
Rantaro came out if the bathroom a few minutes later “kiibo!?”
"To explain what happened, Maki tried to kill him, and well, we stopped her, but, um, Kiibo's not in the best condition…" Kokichi explained almost immediately. "Of course, Gonta's upset because his lover is injured and still close to dying, not to mention he feels bad, but Shu and I have the rest of Kiiboy's parts, and well, it's gonna be fine, right? You and Kii's inventor can fix him, right? Please tell me you can…"
Kokichi's tone had a hint of concern to it. Usually he was better at concealing his emotions, but he couldn't help but express some of them. He cared a lot about the others, and it hurt him to see Kiibo so injured and Gonta so upset. He wanted them to be okay.
“I can try my hardest but I can't promise anything “ rantaro mumbled
Kokichi sighed at the response. He couldn't let the thought of Kiibo dying get into Gonta's mind. However, he noticed that the other probably didn't hear Rantaro's comment, so if he had to, he could lie and say that Kiibo would survive. He didn't want to break the other even more, so he had to. If it became clear that Kiibo wouldn't make it, then he'd be honest, but he had to get Gonta to calm down.
"Whether you can promise anything or not, we need to find Kiiboy's inventor. Just act like it'll be fine, alright? Surely his inventor can fix what you can't," he whispered, making sure Gonta wouldn't overhear. Once he finished, he looked at Gonta. "Look, we're gonna find Kiibo's inventor, and then he and Rantaro will fix him up, okay, Gonta? No need to worry."
Rantaro was already on it, calling the number on the back of kiibos neck
Professor Iidabashi answered almost as soon as he heard his phone ringing. He figured that it had something to do with Kiibo since he didn't recognize the number calling him. Something had happened to his son, and he was sure of that, but he was worried. He was sure that he could take care of whatever happened, but he was a bit worried about what happened to his son.
"Hello?" he asked. "Could I ask you about what happened? What do you need?"
“Kiibo was taken apart hazardly, everything is in pieces and he's in severe pain “
Iidabashi nodded as he heard the statement. He was a bit worried about what had been said, especially since his son was in pieces, but he had some spare parts made in case anything happened to him. He was sure that he could be fixed.
"Alright. Bring him to me," he responded. "I should have spare parts if anything is beyond fixing, and I can help fix anything else. He'll be alright, I think."
Rantsro nodded “and I can help, kiibos told me everything about himself,” he said and he told the others what to do
Iidabashi was a bit relieved when Rantaro said that he knew what he was doing. It would be a lot quicker if someone else could help. As long as the damage wasn't incredibly severe, Kiibo would be able to be repaired.
"Alright. Just come to my lab. We can put him together here."
